What has happened to Ryan Fraser this season?

It has not been a memorable start to the season for Bournemouth midfielder Ryan Fraser (£7.3m).

After registering a total of seven goals and 14 assists in 2018/19, the Scottish international has now gone three matches of the new campaign without a single attacking return.

Not surprisingly, Fraser has already dropped £0.2m in price as Fantasy managers look elsewhere for value in midfield.

However, is there a possibility that they may come crawling back when Bournemouth’s fixtures become a little more favourable.

Gameweek 3 pitted the Cherries against defending champions Manchester City, while this weekend takes them to face Leicester City.

After those two tough matches, Gameweek 5 sees Eddie Howe’s men host Everton before they clash with Southampton (away) and West Ham (home).

We have assessed Fraser’s numbers from the first three matches of 2019/20 to see whether his owners should be patient or not.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the new season can access it in full.

How has Fraser started the season?

Lessons learned from Gameweek 3

Any thoughts on Anderson as a potential Martial replacement? I've already got Haller, but the possibility of a West Ham attacking double-up for their really promising run of fixtures is intriguing me... Is he as nailed as Lanzini?

Why do you prefer Anderson to Lanzini?

More points/returns last season than Lanzini's ever produced. Higher xG and xA this season despite missing GW2. The issues are: a) last season, he was really good in the first half of the season, but dodgy in the second, and b) I really like Anderson playing on the left, but am less keen if he starts on the right - hopefully he starts on the left against Norwich, with Yarmolenko/Snodgrass/Fornals on the right, but it's not a guarantee!

I agree. He is a brast on the left compared to the right flank. He used fornals centrally pre season but he seems to be out??

Why did he miss the game?

Not sure why he was left out, but Fornals played 90 last night vs Newport, so he's fit.

Going Martial > Anderson (or Lanzini, or Maddison) would allow me to go Kane > Aguero (c), which really excites me - it'd cost me -4, but Aguero, Sterling and KDB all in my squad for Brighton (H), Norwich (a), Watford (H) is a mouth-watering prospect!

      Nothing really.

      Maybe one of:

Jim to Pukki - he’ll explode (even more) over the international break if he scores again.
Perez out - he could implode. Maybe Bilva?

Keep two FTs for the IB. Could roll the dice and go Jim to Pukki and Perez to KDB maybe?

        Thanks, +1

I am 0,5 short for that last move though.. Would have to be Wilson out, Jimmy has way better stats anyways. Still, kind of want to wait and see on Wilson a few more games.

Pukki vs City next, really want to wait and see how he perfoms after that..

Perez to someone is an option, but I want someone like Pepe, not the Bilvas, Siggys.. Walker Pieters will probably Come good after the IB?

I agree it’s annoying but then again we don’t pay to play so they don’t really have to listen to what we say.

        1. Erdogan

I have seen multiple times people say we don't pay to play. It is actually not quite true. In theory we are the customers. 6.5 million customers using FPL site. I am sure there is a solid % of the 6.5 million who started to follow the EPL only because they started to play FPL. I personally might as well watch games which I would not care about if I was not playing FPL - I am sure there will be again solid % of 6.5 million who does the same.
What I want to say is that even though we do not pay directly to play the game - that 6.5 million FPL manager crowd is consuming EPL product as such and bringing the EPL stat numbers up - that means creating more revenue for EPL. That means we do deserve to receive a solid, top class product in return.

Well, the price change predictor sites got them right, so it’s just not a simple NTO formula e.g. noticed mass sales in a single day has a far larger impact on the % than gradual sales.

But yeah, could be a good idea to post the official price change %.

    Pope -- Heaton

Sterling Kdb Martial Perez -- Docker
    Kane King -- Wickham

    Just some thoughts
    - Martial may not play in which case Rico/Docker will step up assuming one of them plays
    - No salah or pukki is a concern.
    - worth taking a hit to get pukki esp with city coming up..how much could his price be after city game?
    - Perez has a good fixture but dropping in value...same applies to King

Based on Ole’s team selection to begin the season and current form, you would have to say Rashford up top, with James and Lingard out wide. Wouldn’t be overly surprised to see Mata start, but I think Greenwood remains a bench option only

Absolutely. Of all the premium forwards (exception of Kun in Jesus’ absence) he is the best option. Arsenal also face Watford and Villa in their next 3 fixtures both of which are in the bottom 5 of expected goals against (xGc). He could do very well in those matches

If Martial is injured and ruled out I would jump all over that! I would do the same but I have 3 City already so can’t get on Aguero. Great moves imo. I know Kane has great stats in the North London Derby, but Spurs clearly have managerial issues and imminent transfers affecting their squad (Eriksen and Vertonghen). Moura, Son, Winks and Sissoko provide no creativity to Kane

Thoughts on Firmino? Passes the eye test with dangerous chances and pool has easy fixtures. Worth keeping him for his imminent haul?

Unfortunately, Firmino is overpriced this season. He is a brilliant player but his role in Klopp’s system is to drop in and provide width to Salah and Mane. He will tick nicely but he won’t haul as you suggested so there are much better options at that price point. Does Kane > Haller/Barnes get you one of the Liverpool mids?

I already made King to Pukki which was not maybe the best move when I look it now. As a Finn I needed to do that transfer bcs all my ML rivals have him and he just keep scoring. I could have done Kane to Pukki and keep King and now do Siggy or Martial to Salah just -4.

Pukki is a must so that’s fine mate. I would leave it this week; Siggy could finally do something at Goodison against a weary Europa League affected Wolves and Kane could always score. Those moves aren’t worth an 8 hit this week, wait until next

I see the temptation, however, Robbo has been unlucky not to have attacking returns thus far. Zinchenko will soon be displaced by Mendy or Cancelo (granted he is a RB, but can also play on the left), so wouldn’t want to bring him in for a hit mate

Yeah that’s the problem. If Zink was nailed it would be much easier. The thing is that I need the cash from Robbo to upgrade Dendonker. May just transfer him out for Cantwell. Mount looks good tho

The only way this benefits you is if Abraham rises BEFORE Haller. Can’t see that happening given their current numbers on FPLstats. Wait as long as possible, but make the switch regardless at deadline

That's what I thought too.. But in case b) my selling value of haller increase so overall my team makes a 0.1 profit. Unless I keep haller all season which won't happen :).. Weird but true.

What he said isn’t true. As long as both rise this week, you get that extra SV (i.e. +0.1 TV and +0.1 SV). If Abraham rises before Haller, you hit the jackpot and get +0.2 TV and +0.1 SV. 🙂

      Pope

Doing King to Haller and trying to work out what the play is is thereafter. Injury dependent of course...
    A. Martial to Mount
    B. Dendoncker to Cantwell
    C. Play Greenwood/Lund/Den.

Do you have 2FT? If Martial is out, I would definitely get on Mount. Lampard loves him and he has so much goal threat, as well as assist potential. Wouldn’t do Donkey > Cantwell; the latter has an xG of 1.32 with only 2 shots! Insane and unsustainable.

Hammers are so hot and cold, eirher awful or very good, they just never get a real run together. Chelsea are much more capable of that

West Ham are playing much worse defences across the next 4. Sheff Utd / Wolves / Brighton don't concede as many chances as Norwich / Villa / Bournemouth.

Considering doing a -4 to get Mount & Haller in for Moura & Jota myself, just to jump on Mount and a WHU attacker since I think Mason does look great value in his own right.

But, I think as a direct contrast between the two, I'd lean towards Lanzini.

My thoughts this week are whether to keep Jota and get rid of KWP and Trossard.

Or keep Trossard and get rid Jota and Donkey.

Or get rid of Trossard and KWP.

I think it may be worth keeping KWP one more week and replacing Trossard (tough fixtures coming) and Jota.

      I'm in a similar position.

Current thinking is to keep Jota for 1 week and get Barnes next week.

Completely undecided on Trossard with Mount lurking.

    Pope - Woodman
    Laporte - Zinchenko - AWB - Lundstram - Hanley
    Sterling - Mane - Martial - Lanzini - Mount
    Kane - Pukki - Wickham

1 FT and 0.1m in the bank.

Martial ➡ Cantwell sound good for free? Allows me to do Wickham ➡ Barnes next gw. Or, does something else stand out?

    Opinions appreciated. 🙂

Yup. But my overall team value increases by 0.1 with Tammy. With haller I still have my old team value since there's no profit. If I keep haller all season it makes no difference. But since I won't be doing that it does. Its all very confusing and hence why I asked lol 🙂

Interesting question when you think about it more!. I still think there is no difference since even though you are banking 0.1, you are also spending that profit by having to pay a higher price for Haller than if you were to do it now.

Not a stupid question at all. Tammy gets you 0,1m SV, while Haller doesn't. However you should only do it if you're sure Tammy will rise. Kind of risky during WC season.

If you are planning to keep Robbo long term he will eventually rise again when he starts returning and Liverpool start getting CSs, so keep.
