What's actually wrong with Perez? Is he playing in a different position than anticipated, or just playing badly?

He was playing upfront in pre season alongside Vardy. Hasnt been involved much on the wing

Playing out wide this season. Most of his goals last season came when he was more central playing alongside Rondon.

He was wide open, pretty much on the goal line, last match. If Vardy didn't hit that left footed finish perfectly, then he would've looked stupid for not passing Perez. So at least Perez is getting into good positions.

I want to bring in Haller this GW. Who to dump to make room? A: Rashford. B:Martial.

Option A. Rashford and Wickham to Haller and Wesley. -4pts
Option B Martial and Wickham to Haller and Cantwell -4pts

Option A. Martial stays, plays when fit? and Haller, Wesley, Pukki rotated, dependent on fixtures.
Option B. Cantwell benched. Front line of Haller, Rashford and Pukki.

Main reasons I've seen here are that he has been spotted in training and named in the England squad. Best to wait until pressers if you can afford to.

He shouldn't rise but I'm sure I'll be annoyed if he does!

I saw the challenge, someone just stood on his foot and he should be ok. But yeah, ya never know!

More concerned about Martial news. Seems long term from rumours.

Kane has a habit of popping up when you need him to pipe down doesn't he?! But then Siggy vs Wolves is guaranteed to return nothing, and Kane could easily blank. Pretty hard decision that could bite me big time...!

Look at the upsides of Aguero (c)

I mean that is the temptation, can imagine Brighton giving penalties away for fun. But then I was thinking of KDB (c). Aguero has to score for those bonus points, KDB can grab an assist and still win those bonus points..

KDB is consistent but he is never going to land one of those 17 point hauls that Aggy will give you once or twice a season.

True. Hmm. This is bugging me. Might just play the Mount transfer and debate whether -4 points is worth it. If I give him the (c) then you imagine so - I'd just be gutted if it works against me!

I wouldn't be. I'm picking Kun for City's next 3 fixtures. It could easily pay off vs Norwich if not this week.

On planet isn't going to score 2 goals in a game.

1 goal and 2 assists, perhaps if you're lucky. I don't see it though. Even if he did get there, Aggy would probably score more.

KDBs never going to get 2 assists and a goal in a game, especially at home to brighton? i totally disagree.

Kdb is perfectly capable of a 17 pt haul. Having said that Aguero is capable of that on many more occasions.

KdB(c) isn't that exciting for me. I'd rather Sterling.

I'd rather take Aguero over Sterling though. Penalties being a big factor with the way City play and VAR, I can see a lot of penalties coming their way when they overwhelm teams.

                Alright, interesting.

So would you go Pukki, Sterling over Aguero, Mount? If Pukki continues its tempting but it feels a little hopeful..

How so? Aguero's quality is def much better than sterling. Only reason Sterling is more attractive atm is cause aguero wasn't playing and Sterling Capitalizing

In fact guys, what do you think of this (which is the full picture):

      A: KDB (c), Mount, Kane
      B: Aguero (c), KDB, Mount (-4)

Siggy is going either way to be honest. Everton are dreadful going forward.

Really depends on what you want to do with Aguero after the international break. If you're going to keep him for the run of fixtures, then B.

If you are concerned about his minutes when Jesus comes back, then A.

Possibly not criminal if you have Sterling to cover him, but Aguero has proven himself time and time again. Reckon Jesus could be given minutes in Champions League instead given the fixtures.

Ceballos is a completely nonsensical bandwagon. He came on as a sub in the first game and looked average, played very well in second with a man of the match performance but was then worst player on the pitch bar Luiz against Liverpool. There's nothing to suggest he's nailed...the likes of Torreira, Xhaka, Guendouzi, Willock and Ozil are fighting for 3 spots. All will get game time but the development of the likes of Guendouzi, Torreira and Willock are surely going to be a priority.

If he manages to get a return this weekend his price is going to skyrocket. 5.7m is peanuts for someone playing #10 and on set pieces for a top 6 side.

From a glass half empty side of things sure.

But playing against Burnley at number 10, he was able to weave magic.

Liverpool are an anomaly to play against, that is a freebie.

And when you consider the upcoming fixtures, they look ripe for some creative attacking returns.

As for the nailed thing, yes, I agree. But he is currently the hot young prospect now he Ajax kids have fled the nest - Arsenal will play him as much as they can to convince him to stay.

3-0! Already had Digne and Sterling, brought in Ceballos and transferred out Perez as part of my wildcard. That's a 0.6m increase in team value this week!

  19. AllINeedIsCoffee
    • 9 Years
    4 years, 7 months ago

    Thoughts on this potential wildcard?

    Pope (Button)
TAA - Digne - Zinchenko (Lundstram - Kelly)
Sterling - Salah - Mané - Cantwell (Dendoncker)
    Barnes - Pukki - Ings

0.3m itb - Rotating Lundstram and Cantwell while having pretty solid minutes from the bench, for now anyway.

Current team has Pogba/Martial/Greenwood/Robertson/VVD. Martial injury main reason I'm considering this. Thanks! 🙂

How important is chasing value at the start of the game?

I'm quite conscious that one of my pitfalls last season was not chasing value early on, and this showed near the end where my options were much more limited. For those who didn't instantly jump on Pukki (and still haven't - like myself!), are we shooting ourselves in the foot by not chasing the money even though the goals may dry up?

Worth a discussion at some stage anyway, hope someone posts an article soon.

I don't think you need to actively chase value so much. If you are getting on the right bandwagons and picking the right players before good runs of fixtures, it kind of comes hand in hand with getting decent scores anyway.

    2. juho
      • 6 Years

I never give it a passing thought. I'm looking for the best players to score the most points. Anything else is overcomplicating.

    4. Kenneth Tang
      • 11 Years
      4 years, 7 months ago

Never chasing price, look for points. But if you talk about Pukki, his underlying stat still excel at his price range and getting him should be classified as a points-driven move. Take away the price movement and you think another player is better, then do the one you believe so.

    5. ChelseaKTBFF
      • 10 Years
      4 years, 7 months ago

Chase value, trust the crowd early.
Set up your first team of the season with the ability to jump onto any bandwagon.
Take hits for the medium term (by looking at the next 5-6 fixtures of the person being transferred in), but not for the short term. (1-2 fixtures)
Keep the team updated and crisp and points will follow.

Kun over Laporte is correct imo - also eying up Emerson. The downside is all your hitters (bar Pukki !!! ) are Citizens).

Decent argument for move to Arsenal in the next few when a Pep is going to start rotating probs. You’re now nicely set up for either Auba or Pepe depending on who gets pens.
