Which of Burnley’s FPL assets appeal for their favourable fixtures?

Burnley sit top of our Season Ticker for the next ten Gameweeks, with their first fixture after the international break kicking off a run of matches in which they meet only one of the ‘big six’ (a far from watertight Chelsea side) between now and the end of November.

Those Fantasy managers who place a lot of emphasis on favourable fixture runs will, therefore, be surely considering a move for a Burnley asset or two ahead of Gameweek 5.

Sean Dyche’s troops have had a tricky start to the campaign but haven’t disgraced themselves so far, following up a 3-0 win over Southampton with a battling defeat at Arsenal and then a 1-1 draw with Wolves – a game they really should have had won before Raul Jimenez‘s (£7.4m) last-gasp penalty.

The Clarets were outclassed against Liverpool in Gameweek 4 but the Reds and Manchester City are already starting to pull clear of the chasing pack and again look to be in a class of their own following their dominance in 2018/19.

There is plenty of encouragement for Fantasy managers, then, particularly as Burnley are free of the Europa League commitments that plagued them at the start of last season.

The Clarets’ form had picked up at the back-end of 2018/19 with Dyche going back to basics with a settled side and a 4-4-2, an approach he has carried into this campaign.

Our Members’ article below looks at who the stand-out Burnley performers have been this season, asking whether Ashley Barnes‘ (£6.7m) form can continue and whether Dyche’s side can keep a handful of clean sheets over the coming months.

Lessons learned from Gameweek 4

Thinking for below for wc, look ok?

    Going 3 4 3
    Pope / Fodder
TAA / Digne / Otamendi (Lund - kelly)
Sterling / Kdb / Mane / James (cantwell)
    Pukki / Barnes / Haller

Kinda wanted kun, but cant get him and raheem, and fancy sterling over him.

Could also move OTA and mane to 4.5(likely mings) and salah?
But feel more points in mane and ota

Nice team. Why do you fancy James over Trossard, Ceballos, Mount and Mcginn ?

Probably slightly biased as a utd fan, but have watched all games, he has a super shot, and takes plenty of them.
Def prefer over McGinn and trossard,
Cellbellos has potential, and mount is
a good option, but outta reach now!

That's true but I'm strictly thinking from an FPL perspective. They've been unlucky with the goal scoring. Could have easily scored 3-4 more so far

When you're waiting for their luck to turn other, some cheaper, FPL options will get you more points. Maybe James worth a look now. Defence not keeping many cleansheets. Pogba not reaching heights he can and go miles beyond. Rashord and Martial not consistent enough.

A manager who cant inspire players and getting rid of Good heading Smalling over Jones was last straw as last 2 matches were all Lindelof fault who just cant man up and now no one to replace. Manutd just a James injury away from crises to finish midtable with luk and sanchez gone

Jimenez, Barnes, Pukki also potentially decent.

He's always had potential and creates chances but bar Solksaer's early reign against poor opposition his finishing isn't great. For me he'll never have the confidence or killer insinct to be a top striker. Lukaku mightn't have done it in the big games but should never have been sold.

Rashford is too expensive. His price last year would interest me. As for Martial, I think I'm done with him. I got him last year and this year, and on both occasions he lasted only one game. Basically a French Arnautovic.

yes but their attacking assets were priced accordingly under SAF. Most of the attackers were priced in the 10-13M range.

And now all of them are priced under 9m for a good reason. They are not consistent as a team scoring goals.

    As I am going 4-4-2 , cant have all 3 of Barnes+Haller+Pukki
I have 2 choose between these 2 options
    1) Haller + Cantwell/ If 1 is cantwell nailed?
    2) Barnes + Yarmolenko/James/Trossard but who?
Haller will get lot of quality service but who all create chances for Burnley?

    Would you rather have?
    A. VVD Trossard* (any 6.2) and a weak bench (Rico/Gwood/Lund)
    B. TAA Ceballos and weak bench (same)
    C. TAA/VVD with cheap rotations (Cantwell with Soyuncu, Lund) and only Greenwood as a 'dud'

I desperately need to re-climb rank and want to take advantage of Liverpool - Newcastle and
Norwich - City. Any thoughts? Thanks!

    Ryan (Button)
Robertson - Van Dijk - Digne (- Lundstram - Hanley)
    Salah - Trossard - Grealish - McGinn - Sterling
    Haller - Pukki (- Greenwood)

    Points: 257/ OR:134k/ TF: 1/ 3.2 ITB

    A) Wildcard this lot
    B) Sterling + Pukki + (-4) > De Bruyne + Aguero, like a madman

OR is fairly notional right now no?

I’m down at 240 or so but would be close to 10k had I took the minus 8 last week to bring in and captain Kun. Really fine margins.

I’d hold for the minus 4 myself.

I’ve had the same issue - like you no TAA and Robbo hurts. Hanging tough on that one for now but I can feel s minus 4 sideways move coming 🙂

Went VVD to Robbo last season to disastrous effect in 26 🙁

Have you ever heard of soundless guitar strings?
Readily available and you can't tell the difference. All you have to do is drill some holes in the back of your guitar and get a good old fashioned mini tape recorder and tape it over the holes hidden from view.
Practice at home with your fingering so it looks authentic then go out busking with a sad looking dog.
I have found playing classical songs like "The Deer Hunter " theme tune very profitable.

What should I do next with this lot.

    Pope
    Digne Robbo Zinc
    Salah Sterling Martial Mount
    Pukki Jiminez Haller

    Button Dendonker Lundstram Guilbert

Martial out seems obvious. But who for? Right move?

Not sure Martial out is obvious at all if he’s fit next week. The underlying stats for United attack look fine and oop at 7.5 or do still works. Don’t think the fixtures look too bad at all from attacking perspective either.
