Which of Burnley’s FPL assets appeal for their favourable fixtures?

Burnley sit top of our Season Ticker for the next ten Gameweeks, with their first fixture after the international break kicking off a run of matches in which they meet only one of the ‘big six’ (a far from watertight Chelsea side) between now and the end of November.

Those Fantasy managers who place a lot of emphasis on favourable fixture runs will, therefore, be surely considering a move for a Burnley asset or two ahead of Gameweek 5.

Sean Dyche’s troops have had a tricky start to the campaign but haven’t disgraced themselves so far, following up a 3-0 win over Southampton with a battling defeat at Arsenal and then a 1-1 draw with Wolves – a game they really should have had won before Raul Jimenez‘s (£7.4m) last-gasp penalty.

The Clarets were outclassed against Liverpool in Gameweek 4 but the Reds and Manchester City are already starting to pull clear of the chasing pack and again look to be in a class of their own following their dominance in 2018/19.

There is plenty of encouragement for Fantasy managers, then, particularly as Burnley are free of the Europa League commitments that plagued them at the start of last season.

The Clarets’ form had picked up at the back-end of 2018/19 with Dyche going back to basics with a settled side and a 4-4-2, an approach he has carried into this campaign.

Our Members’ article below looks at who the stand-out Burnley performers have been this season, asking whether Ashley Barnes‘ (£6.7m) form can continue and whether Dyche’s side can keep a handful of clean sheets over the coming months.

Lessons learned from Gameweek 4

What are people’s thoughts on Firmino? I’d like to double him up with Salah on my WC. Could be dangerous. Would look to keep for next 4 fixtures and the. Possible swap for Vardy when his fixtures ease

Could work well with a double up with Salah.

I love him as a player. So underrated and one of the best in the league for me. But he has never been explosive which doesn’t make as good a fantasy asset as Salah/Mané. He actually looks better this season than any of the previous seasons so this could be the season to get him.

    Adrian
    TAA Kolasinac Lundstram Guilbert
    Pepe Mahrez Trossard KDB
    Kun(c) Wilson

    Woodman Guendouzi Soyuncu Greenwood

This wildcard team is basically a free hit team isn't it, oh well i don't mind buying a ticket, Arsenal do have the fixtures to break the template so let's spin that wheel. Mahrez-->Salah soon as i feel like it

It’s just a transfer waiting to happen is what he is getting at. Allison will be back in no time and you might have other issues in your squad and instead your wasting a transfer on the gk spot. Pope has great fixtures now I’d prefer him.

Genuinely on the fence with two decisions. Input welcome/wanted.

    1) Mount or James
    2) Abraham or Haller

If it matters, I already have Pukki, Salah, Sterling and KDB.

He was the very reason The Blades got a result at The Bridge. Poor substitution bringing the kid on and not adapting to Wilder. Chelsea games now have a pattern. Good start , opposing manager makes some changes , opposition come back into the game and Lampard hasn't got a clue what to do about it.

Wilder had the up on him all last season as well. Disagree he was the very reason as we upped our game a lot and were confident and dominated ;). Obvs partly due to lamps and poor subs but don't take anything away from us hehe

Sorry but disagree . Lampard was totally responsible . He had no response to the inevitable improvement . This would not have happened under the previous 2 managers. The games would have been seen out as a 2-0 victory with an uneventful second half. Blades are very organised but are not that good. Good enough to stay up but no way top 10. ☺

I think they’re doing well, but the promoted teams usually run out of energy around Christmas and just look for enough points to stay up. IE 0-0s, but would be happy to be proved wrong.

Can understand the points but i think they'll do relatively well imo, happy to keep Tammy and Mount for now anyway. Mount can always be downgraded in a 352, Ceballos or someone and upgrade elsewhere if needed.

They might do, but if Chelsea score more than 2 I'll be surprised personally - if you keep them now you have to keep them 4+ weeks really, people didn't have that patience with Vardy but now they moan about being unlucky...fixtures are quite important imo. Not calling them bad options, just bad timing

Yeah i do get what you mean, and must stick with them past these next two tricky fixtures for sure, then they become better, they have looked an improvement, Laps has got some work cut out but with a bit of luck he'll become a little more familiar with what works better by then. I'll probs have bigger fires to put out by then anyway and leave the chelsea boys in.

    A) Salah, Wesley to Pepe, Vardy/Firminho

No votes or anything for this as lot will change in 2 weeks. And probs bottle getting rid of Salah but some of them look fun and nice tbh. Who knows 🙂

If you are not going to start Pukki vs City then you may as well get rid of him.

City just lost Laporte. Stones still a doubt.

Planning to get rid of him next GW on the WC actually 😀

But don't think City will be much worse off without Laporte - they'll still dominate possession and Stones/Fernandinho can do a job.

Absolute madness. Benching him this week is a toss up, but getting rid of him? He’s got the stats, finishing and points. He’s the real deal.

Barnes and Haller have also got the form though and IMO better fixtures - I fancy Burnley and Palace to be quite stubborn vs Norwich as well, after the City game.

Not sure I agree with this statement. Can see sit him against City and playing him v Burnley, Palace, and Villa. City's defense is not, as much, about who the defenders are it is about winning possession back quickly...

    FPL Equation

    ( 4 x 10 + 4 x 2 ) + ( 1 x 10 + 1 x 3 ) + ( 1 x 14 + 1 x 2 ) x DGW planning potential
    = a lot of thinking

( 4 free hits* of 10 players plus captain) + ( 1 TC game week) + ( 1 Bench Boost game week) x the Double gameweeks potential depending on your strategy

    * only one Free Hits reverts back - we have 3 other Free Hits (namely GW1, WC1 and WC2)

Effectively 10.52% of the seasons gameweeks (4 of the 38) are your free hits for that chosen game week (with 3 of them needing a little forward planning)

      Correction

      (32 x 12) + (4 x 12) + (1 x 13) + (1 x 16) + DGW planning potential

= 461 selections with 35 FT + 3 weeks of unlimited transfers (factor in BGW, DGW, form, fixtures, underlying stats, guesses, luck and knowledge)

      Simples

Read that Klopp was trying to mix 2018/19 tactics with 2017/18. More attacking with less defensive stability. Definitely looks more involved on the eye test.

    Morning all. (Australia time)

Any thoughts on this WC team? Only players i'm regretting not having rn are Aguero, Auba Pukki and Haller but easy switch to the last 2 if needed:

    Pope Button
    TAA Digne Zinchenko Mings Lowton
    Salah Sterling KDB Cantwell Dendon
    Vardy Barnes Greenwood

    1. Yankee Toffee
      • 9 Years

Vardy tough fixtures. Personally I would drop Zinchenko for now and try to bring Kun in for him. Vardy is in form I agree but just feel that Kun will destroy Norwich.

It’s not popular in these parts but I’ve got the City big 3 and Mane. Pretty happy with it at this point.

Not popular at all around here. Everyone seems to think Salah is must have over Mane as well which so far i dont see why apart from hes on pens. But yeah everyone in mini league has him so dont have much of a choice. Previously had this:

    Pope Button
    TAA Digne Zinch/Mings Lunds Lowton
    Mane KDB Sterling Mount Cantwell
    Auba/Aguero Green Wick

    Seriously tempted to -4 for Kane+Hayden > Maupay+KDB
    Would give me:

    TAA Digne Zinch Emerson AWB

    Salah KDB Sterling

    Pukki Maupay

    Woodman Ceballos Dendoncker Greenwood

I would do for it mate, City will score more goals than Spurs and KDB will be involved in a lot of them. He will be one of the top scoring mids in FPL this season imo if he stays fit. At 9.8 he is still a bargain and he will continue to rise in price I think.

Pukki, he will get the majority of Norwich's goals. Even if they keep losing games they will score quite a few the way they play and that is all he needs to do.

      Alternative Approach

      VVD + Perez to

      2) Matip + KDB

      Both are for a hit

I would do option 1 mate since you have TAA. Unless you are worried about Mendy's return then there is also Otamendi at 5.4 i think. Both city and pool should keep a clean sheet and KDB will very likely outscore Perez this week. Even if KDB blanked this week it is still worth it in the long run.
