FFS Mini-Leagues & Community Competitions Gameweek 5

Welcome to the latest round-up of the Fantasy Football Scout mini-leagues and community competitions. This article covers Gameweek 5 in Fantasy Premier League, Gameweek 21 in Fantasy Eliteserien, and Gameweek 23 in Fantasy Allsvenskan.

First a reminder. For those wishing to take part in the Pundit’s Play-Off Community Tournament registration is still open. The deadline for entry is 30 September.

Head-to-Head Leagues

Despite an overall rank of 1,001,090 Owen Walker (aka Zan Keroski) maintained his 100% start in League 1 of the FFS Head-to-Head leagues. Three managers are hot on his heels with 12 points out of 15, olavi oja is currently second on account of having the better overall rank.

The top two face each other in a mouth-watering fixture in Gameweek 6. A win for olavi oja would move him to the top of League 1.

Elsewhere in the Head-to-Head leagues, there are 100% records for Bruce Savage in League 2, Sameer Sohail and Neil Methold in League 3, 12 managers in League 5, 13 managers in League 6, 40 managers in League 7 and 93 managers in League 8.

Fantasy Football Scout Mini-Leagues

Mohammad Hafiz Emran is the new leader of our Fantasy Football Scout mini-league and is up to thirteenth overall. He’s had four green arrows in a row after playing his Triple Captain chip in Gameweek 1 and his Wildcard in Gameweek 2. This is his fifth FPL season and by far his best.

Previous leader Gareth Mantle drops to second after leaving 35 points on his bench: Heaton 6pts, Pukki 12pts, Cantwell 6pts, and Buendia 11pts. Painful.

There are currently 43,367 managers participating in the Fantasy Football Scout mini-league, to join them enter code ooyz44 in your Leagues’ section on the FPL site.

Tom Foster reclaims top spot in our FFS Members mini-league thanks to a 39-point contribution from his front three of Pukki, Wilson, and Abraham. He moves back into the top thousand at 517 overall and has still not used any chips.

Previous leader Marie Skomedal slips to third. In Gameweek 5, her cause wasn’t helped by a disappointing 8 points from her four defenders and goalkeeper.

The code to join the FFS Members League can be found on the Members page

Community Mini-Leagues and Competitions

In TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing the safety score for Gameweek 5 was 36 points, this saw 273 managers eliminated. The threshold for elimination remains at 6% for Gameweek 6.

Over 4,700 managers have entered this year’s competition and a total of 1,166 have already departed. It is possible to enter up until Gameweek 22 using the code bcvy39, however you must pass all the previous safety scores to qualify. Aside from bragging rights, the winner will receive a free Fantasy Football Scout Membership for the 2020/21 season.

FFS founder and Career Hall of Fame number two Mark Sutherns leads the FFS Mods & Cons mini-league. Mark holds a two-point lead over Neale Rigg (aka Skonto Rigga) who remains in second place.

This is Mark’s fourteenth FPL season. His distinguished FPL career includes eight top 10,000 finishes, four of which were in the top thousand, and one in the top hundred: 42nd in 2014/15.

Mark Taylor is unmoved at the top of RedLightning’s Top 10k Any Season mini-league and is 764th overall. Like Tom Foster, Mark Sutherns, and Neale, he is yet to play any of his chips. Managers with a top 10k finish may join the league using the code m0tq9y.

Francois Jacquemot has regained the lead in Chaballer’s Top 1,000 HoF League. Francois has only made three transfers this season and is yet to play a chip. His team “Rider On the Storm” contains three premium players: Sterling, Salah, and Kane. Francois has a best finish of 472nd overall, which came in 2016/17.

Moving into second place is John Trigg (aka Trigg). John has two top 10,000 finishes and narrowly missed out on a third last season when he ended the campaign 10,784th overall. John is 685th in the Career Hall of Fame, managers in the top 1,000 may enter the league using the code beeps2.

2014/15 FPL winner Simon March (aka Dufflinks) deposed 2016/17 champion Ben Crabtree to take the lead in the exclusive FPL Champions League. Simon’s faith in Callum Wilson was rewarded with the forward contributing 13 points to his Gameweek total of 68.

Meanwhile, Ben not only tripled up on City’s attack but also played his Triple Captain chip on Aguero. Ouch. Although in the grand scheme of things Aguero’s 18 points was only three points less than Ben managed on his Triple Captain chip when he won FPL.

Eliteserien and Allsvenskan

Luke Dyer has closed the gap on long-time leader Svein Johansen to six points in the FFS Eliteserien mini-league. Former world number one Svein now finds himself twelfth overall and faces a tough task to return to the top of the standings having used all of his chips. Svein and Luke both played their Wildcard in Gameweek 21.

Håvard Gustad extended his run at the top of the overall leaderboard to five weeks. Håvard also played his Wildcard but still has his Attack! Attack! chip available.

Despite playing their Wildcards, Håvard, Svein, and Luke immediately have more decisions to make. The top scoring player in the game, Amor Layouni, and in-form midfielder Zlatko Tripic are both suspended, while goalscoring defender Christophe Psyche surprisingly missed the last game with a knock.

There’s a right old tussle taking place at the top of the FFS Allsvenskan mini-league between Daniel Sebestyen and Henrik Mäkitalo. Henrik reclaimed first place following a Gameweek score of 64 points, his captain Anders Christiansen contributing 12 points.

Daniel drops to second even though his captain Muamer Tankovic chipped in with 14 points. Daniel now has some problems to deal with ahead of the Friday deadline as two heavy-hitters look set to be out. Alexander Kačaniklić is struggling for fitness and Mohamed Buya Turay is suspended.

Daniel is fifth overall and Henrik fourth.

TopMarx Fan of Fantasy Football and Monty Python. "Archimedes out to Socrates, Socrates back to Archimedes, Archimedes out to Heraclitus, he beats Hegel. Heraclitus a little flick, here he comes on the far post, Socrates is there, Socrates heads it in! Socrates has scored! The Greeks are going mad, the Greeks are going mad! Socrates scores, got a beautiful cross from Archimedes. The Germans are disputing it. Hegel is arguing that the reality is merely an a priori adjunct of non-naturalistic ethics, Kant via the categorical imperative is holding that ontologically it exists only in the imagination, and Marx is claiming it was offside. Really impressed with the head-to-head leagues, well done on everyone who had a hand in it. Thanks for putting this all together.

12 points out of 15 for me, pretty happy with that.

      Technically isn't that a 0% record? 😉

Great idea on setting up the H2H leagues though. I'm sure that first win is just around the corner.

I'm in a relegation scrap that's for sure. Might be joining you in League 4 next year, unless of course you get promoted and we swap.
