Joe is joined by Az and David for the latest episode of the Scoutcast tonight.

This instalment will overlap with some EFL Cup action so we will do our best to bring you live updates from those matches if they have Fantasy Premier League implications.

Some of the key topics for dicussion in episode 302 include the luck vs skill debate as well as budget and premium defenders.

Gameweek 6 was characterised by the benching of Raheem Sterling (£12.1m), a popular captain candidate.

The fact that he did not take to the pitch for Manchester City’s 8-0 win over Watford meant that many vice-captains came into play.

Some of those fell to Mohamed Salah (£12.5m), some to Sadio Mané (£11.6m), while others landed on Kevin de Bruyne (£9.9m) who scored a whopping 17 points.

Joe, David and Az will fight it out to decree whether or not those who got the Belgian’s haul doubled-up were reaping the rewards of a good decision or simply lucky.

    I'm trying hard to get back to 3-4-3 but need to do the following transfers to achieve decency:

    VVD -- Tomori
    Salah -- Son
    Greenwood -- Bobby/Vardy/Lacazette when fit

    Don't think United or Spurs will stop Pool scoring 2/3 goals in either game fwiw

      I'd personally split Aguero into 2 cheap Strikers so you can go 3-4-3.

      No easy transfers in that team. Tough one.

      I personally wouldn't get rid of sterling, Mane or Kun mate so it would be F. Would definitely lose Digne and AWB for Tomori and Pieters. Maybe another -4 next week if something opens up to get Tammy?

      I'd just do Mane Digne to Son TAA.

      AWB is okay for the next two weeks imo with strong cs chance in 8 and then you can switch him out in 9 to 4.5 and upgrade Wickham in a double move from cash itb.

      Or does Aguero Cantwell Digne to Ota Son Abraham work? Very fine midfield that would be.

    Why I wouldn't captain Sterling:

    As a former Liverpool player, he gets a lot of heat from the Everton fans at Goodison Park. The terraces and the screaming fans are close to the pitch. He has never played well there.

          Tough fixture? I find that hard to believe. Everton lost to Blades last weekend at home while Man City destroyed Watford. Before that they lost to Bournemouth. I predict carnage.

      Well you have 4 of your starting players either injured or at risk of starting so its not looking great, probably the most crocked team I have seen in fairness 😀

      Thought about it, think you should wildcard. Even if you did 3 transfers this week to remove the 3 with highest chances of not starting you still gonna have Coleman vs City and Lunds vs Pool and hoping that your remainign 4th crocked player starts or that Greenwood starts instead.
      Pukki and Cantwell probably getting nothing this week, if you get a bad a captain pick your gonna get a terrible score imo.

      Bournemouth are tasty and Palace have been iffy to say the least on the road with two horror shows.

      Villa away is not a good fixture really from what we've seen so far.

        that's what i think , whu's fixtures are better , but proabably they are selling haller because of his team with no lanzini no antonio , haller seems dead without them only with fanderson especially against united last game !

          Think his sellers are being really impatient after two blanks. Bournemouth are really ripe for the taking imo and his stats hold up pretty well.

          I'm certainly giving him one more and quite possibly two.
