Fantasy Allsvenskan: Gameweek 26

Midweek games are done and dusted; we now get a small respite before kicking off again on Sunday at 13.00 CET. Only 5 gameweeks left, time to make a late push!

Gameweek 25 review

Djurgården got a very predictable win to nil but only managed the solitary goal, in large parts due to the lack of accuracy from Mohamed Buya Turay (9.7m). Emir Kujovic (9.6m) started on the bench and failed to continue his impressive streak, missing a superb chance after coming on with roughly 30 minutes left to play. Jonathan Ring (8.0m) continues to get great bonus-returns but is still lacking a bit in the final touch. If he could get his stuff together, he could do great though, as he’s still firing a lot of shots off. Many will already have some sort of constellation of three Djurgården-players though which is an issue if you want to bring him in.

Hammarby kept the scoring going with a 3-1 win that looked nowhere near happening in the first half. After what we can assume to be some sort of a “hair-dryer” from coach Stefan Billborn at halftime along they came out a different team and after that there was only ever going to be one result. Other than Muamer Tankovic (9.5m) getting his customary goal, Darijan Bojanic (7.2m) keeps impressing with another assist, making it three goals and three assists in his last four games.

Norrköping saved plenty of managers gameweeks thanks to keeping another clean sheet and scoring four goals against AFC Eskilstuna. Lars Krogh Gersson (6.7m) slotted home another penalty and it seems like his price is the only thing keeping him from being in every team right now, he looks absolutely fantastic and is very involved in the attack, along with keeping a bunch of clean sheets. Sead Haksabanovic (9.1m) goes from strength to strength and delivered again, possibly you could have expected even bigger things from him this week, but let’s just be glad he keeps delivering.

AIK managed to anger many supporters with an abject display at home to Göteborg. Somehow they still managed to squeeze out a win thanks to another Sebastian Larsson (8.8m) penalty, surely not sustainable (three penalty goals in the last four)? Nabil Bahoui (9.4m) got himself injured and looks to at the very least miss out this weekend, quite possibly longer. Highly unfortunate and it seems us early adopters are left with no choice but to throw him out of our squads. Kolbeinn Sigthorsson (8.9m) was suspended and should replace Bahoui up front along with ever-present Henok Goitom (9.7m).

Malmö ran away with it at home to Helsingborg, showing that the derby right now is more a show for the supporters, there was never any real contest. Sören Rieks (9.5m) scored twice but got himself suspended, and overall with the schedule and small niggles around the squad you do fear for rotation when they face AFC Eskilstuna in a game that can only end one way. Arnór Ingvi Traustason (8.7m) keeps looking great but you do wonder if he’ll start such an “easy” game? Anders Christiansen (10.0) was not risked in the end, ruled out close to the game. He seems like he can play this weekend though.

Finally, here are some gameweek 25 stats, credit to poohdini;

The three most popular captains in the top 1k were:

Sead Haksabanovic; Captained by 55.2%, Effective Ownership of 118.0%, scored 9 points.

Muamer Tankovic; Captained by 7.7%, Effective Ownership of 98.5%, scored 8 points.

Christoffer Nyman; Captained by 6.4%, Effective Ownership of 46.7%, scored 2 points.

And some more:

Gameweek average points for top 1k was 74.67, the overall average was 52.

It was a big “chip-week” as quite a few at the top deployed either “Park the bus”, “Attack! Attack”, and “Two captains”. In the top 1k there were 130 managers who played “Park the bus”, 98 “Attack! Attack!”, 42 “Two Captains” and 8 wildcards. This resulted in a very high scoring GW for the top 1k and plenty of managers who had good scores, still got a red arrow.

Gameweek 26 preview

GW26 luckily isn’t followed by another mid-week GW (I think I’d have to call in sick to keep up then 😉) so after this, things settle down a bit. After GW27, there’s even an international break before it’s all to be decided! Sunday deadline then this GW, at 13.00 CET. It’s been a while, but we’re once again (most likely) blessed with getting AIK’s lineups ahead of the game kicking off, keep an eye on their official Twitter account 5-10 minutes pre-deadline!

Hammarby-Örebro seems like a great captaincy game, as does AFC Eskilstuna-Malmö (if you can spot the non-rotational players). There’s another derby, this time in Göteborg as Göteborg faces off against Häcken, who’s been quite poor lately. Will Robin Söder (8.1m) be fit in time?

Falkenberg tries to stop an in-form Norrköping side, a task that looks destined to fail. Sead Haksabanovic anyone? Every point matters in the bottom of the table as well though so nothing can be taken for granted, but Norrköping should have enough to deal with whatever Falkenberg can throw at them. Djurgården travel to Östersund, a club in free fall both on and off the pitch. Östersund has still scored in 10 of their 12 games at home so far, can Djurgården keep them out? Who will start, Mohamed Buya Turay or Emir Kujovic?

Players to target

Darijan Bojanic keeps delivering and should have a good platform to build upon at home to Örebro. Three goals and three assists in his last four games, and Örebro is highly likely to concede a few in this one.

Arnór Ingvi Traustason if he is fit and starts, should be great for the run in. Rotation remains an issue… Also, he has a minor niggle which could mean he’s not risked for the game against AFC. Which brings us to another Malmö player who’s very likely to deliver points (assuming he starts) – Marcus Antonsson (10.5m). He’s struggled this year, supposed to be the top striker along Markus Rosenberg (10.5m), getting just 6 goals and 1 assist. He should start against AFC though and if ever there is a time to kick into life, that would be the game.

Vladimir Rodic (8.1m) is back from suspension and seems to be out to try to prove a point, he’s looked superb and will be pushing for another start. His game-time is not guaranteed but if Nikola Djurdjic (10.4m) remains up front he has every chance of taking one of the three spots behind him.

Captaincy thoughts

Sead Haksabanovic against Falkenberg looks a great option, but it’s hard to ignore the Hammarby lads this gameweek. Muamer Tankovic will understandably be highly captained and he should be in the points, I think if you still have Alexander Kačaniklić (8.5m) he definitely should be in your thoughts this week though, possibly even ahead of Tankovic…  Tankovic almost comes with a points guarantee this week, but Kačaniklić on his day has hattrick potential – so he could be one for the chasers.

As always, good luck this gameweek and if you want to chat about fantasy football either comment here below, or hit me up @FF_Meltens on Twitter!

GW26 in Fantasy Allsvenskan kicks off on Sunday at 13.00 CET. We have quite a few injury doubts as Robin Söder is facing a fight against the clock, while Nabil Bahoui looks very likely to miss out. Anders Christiansen and Arnor Ingvi Traustason have minor niggles but if they start, they'll probably do quite well.

The games Hammarby-Örebro, AFC Eskilstuna-Malmö and Falkenberg-Norrköping all looks primed for attacking returns!
Who are you looking to captain? What transfers have you made?

I think I'll captain Tankovic, and moving Bahoui out. Looking at Malmo to replace Bahoui I think

Excellent job writing these articles during this busy period! Just one more week and then you'll get a well deserved rest 😉

Have 2ft this week, but a bit of a transfer headache. My gut feeling tells me that gametime is more likely for AC than Traustason, and my main rival has AC, yet I'm strongly concidering getting Traustason in for AC. I have 2 transfers planned for next week, and the main difference is - I eighter keep AC and have to take Käck out next GW, or I get Traustason in this week and take Da Graca out next week. Käck is obiously a better player to keep than Da Graca, but to be honest I'm not sure how much I'd play Käck anyway for the reminding fixtures. Any thoughts?

Captain will be Tankovic, partly for coverage, since Kacaniklic form is uncertain after his unjury and suspension. Haksabanovic also a good option, but Falkenberg are a much better side at home.

If I were you, I would rather get rid of De Graca than Käck. But if you would like to keep De Graca as a 5th defender for the bench, than you should drop out Toivio, because the Häcken clean sheets are not coming in the recent weeks and Käck has a lot more higher ceiling.
How do you like Irandust? Get in Traustason for Irandust as he hasn't performed well in fantasy terms (I know that he has good underlying statistics but the fact is that he delivered 1G and 1A in the last 10 games).

          Thanks for the input!

Will probably keep Käck then, and do AC to Traustason and hope he can match his points. Malmö have some tricky fixtures coming up, so I'm not really keen on doubbling up there, but Irandust is defenitly an issue. He's been a massive disappointment and probably the worst signing I've made this season. Have watched him play almost every game since I got him and he's always involved but just never gets the end product right. Also, when Arkivou got injuried and Andersson nailed down his spot, Irandust lost all set pieces to Andersson so he's not getting any bonus eighter. Toivio on the other hand has been a massive threat on set pieces so even without clean sheets he's a decent option IMO. That said, they'll both go eventually, but not until after playing Östersund and Helsingborg.

I always do my planning long term, and hopefully owning Irandust and Tovio will come in handy in GW27 against Östersund, when Hammarby face Djurgården and Göteborg face Malmö.

        Haha cheers! 😉

I’m in two minds about Käck as well, he can still do great things but at the very least 3 of their last fixtures (possibly 4 if you count Östersund as semi tricky away) I don’t really see a clean for them. I have Bahoui and considering Ring but then I’d have to sacrifice Käck... Really annoyed with Bahoui, not loving the replacements.

Tankovic is very sensible and I’m pretty sure he gets something, I’m just upside chasing at this late part of the season so think I’ll roll the dice with Kacaniklic.

Reallu struggling with my team at the moment; injuries and suspensions have forced a few moves, and there's constantly issues to take care of. Söder just the most recent one.

For this GW I've done one FT of Söder to Nyman, and I'm thinking of taking a hit for Irandust to Christiansen or Traustason. Can't make my mind up if that's a good move or not.

Oh, and I'm (still) between Tankovic or Haksabanovic for the captaincy.

I wouldn't take a hit to do that move. I know Irandust is frustrating to own, but his short term fixtures are good, so you might as well keep. You never know with gametime for AC and Traustasson this GW, and then they got Göteborg, Hammarby and AIK next.

Good points. On the other hand, I'm very much chasing at this point, and I think the only way to sneak into the top 1K is to play aggressively with the transfers and take the risk that it might not work out. Have until the deadline to decide though.

You should probably look to replace Söder, especially if he's ruled out this week. Fixtures are horribel short term, and his fitness is a concern. Karlsson, Haglund could be potential replacements.

Cheers. Brought in Bojanic/Gero for Jarl/Soder. Gero's not the greatest pick just hoping he can manage another home goal.
Fingers crossed Paulinho starts this time vs gbg. Captain Tankovic

Why I put Jesper Karlsson always on the bench?
Last week I missed his 9 points as he was 1st on the bench, and this week he has outperformed again my other strikers.
I have to believe him now I guess, because he is always one of the best players on Elfsborg and performs well against bigger clubs also.

Yeah he’s in that tricky category of how much faith you can put in him but he is showing some very nice form in the run in!
Who was closest to being benched for him this week then?

Had an absolute nightmare of a gameweek! Dropped 11 places and I now have my lowest rank since GW10. Taking AC out for Traustason certianly wasn't the right move short term, but hopefully my next transfers will pay off, and to be fair those extra 6p wouldn't have helped my rank that much. What's worse is that Traustason was awful, as were Kacaniklic and Irandust who's not paying back the faith I've shown in them.

I've been top of the local ML pretty much all season, but after this dreadful GW I suddenly find myself 20p behind. I had Karlsson (who's assist wern't given), he had Lundström (substituted before AIK conceded). I had Traustason, he had AC. I had Kacaniklic, he had Djurdjic. I had Witry, he had Danielsson. Not much luck there. I know what my next moves will be, but perhaps it's time to start gambling a bit? At least with the captaincy or so.

Definitely time to start gambling a bit, given it's just 4 GWs left! I didn't heed my own advice and get Rodic in, so instead I have Bojanic, Kaca and Tank who besides a Bojanic assist got absolutely nothing in a 5-1 win. Took a very short term punt on Traustason and Molins smashing AFC which was a horrible call and I regret it already, need to look at replacements for Molins in particular.

Good luck with the last couple of GWs!
