Is Riyad Mahrez a viable cut-price FPL route into the Man City attack?

Averaging 10.50 points per start and providing better value for money (based on points per million spent) than all other Manchester City assets bar Kevin De Bruyne (£10.0m), Riyad Mahrez (£8.5m) is hovering on the Fantasy Premier League radar at present.

With De Bruyne nursing a groin injury and a doubt for the visit of Wolves on Sunday, the demand for Mahrez’s services may well step up a notch as we approach the weekend.

Currently, the Algerian is the fifth-most-bought FPL midfielder of Gameweek 8.

Successive double-digit hauls against Watford and Everton have increased interest, although he is still very much in differential territory when it comes to FPL ownership (4.1% at the time of writing).

Is he worth considering as a Fantasy option, then, in the weeks ahead?

    Considering going without Liverpool attack on IB WC but would want one of Salah/Mane back and possibly with double Liv defence from GW14, could be a headache.

      This is the conundrum - do you use the wildcard in IB to take them out OR do you take them out gradually moving to Vardy / Auba etc and use wildcard to get Liverpool back in from 14.

      I’m leaning towards the later.

            Tentative plan is triple city attack with Kun (most likely) or Sterling, KdB and Mahrez, really not fussed about city defence now and considering playing Lund as third defender every week with TAA and Soy or Perreira. I'm sure I'll be hassling you for your advice in more detail after the weekend.

          I would use Giroud mainly as impact sub and start Bats in some easy fixtures to get him going and then competing with Tammy. Giroud has proved himself as one of the best mintue to goal ratio players in the whole of europe, hopefully he realise this. Giroud is a super sub.

    how often does Robbo make that run across to the front post? I seem to remember him regularly running to the back post, but not ever so aggressively across the box to the near post like that

    Hopefully this is some sort of new ploy from Klopp - very hard to defend against in the short term if teams aren’t cottoned onto it
