Is it time to sell Barnes as Wood hits form for Burnley?

Ashley Barnes (£6.6m) has now gone four consecutive matches without an attacking return.

With so many blanks in a row, his owners are likely looking at whether they should be offloading the Burnley forward ahead Gameweek 8.

That said, the Clarets do face another favourable fixture this weekend as Everton come to Turf Moor. The Toffees have conceded at least twice in each of their last five matches.

However, the complicating factor in assessing Barnes’ potential is the recent form of Chris Wood (£6.2m).

Since the former Brighton and Plymouth Argyle striker last found the net, Wood has scored three times.

Is that a trend that will continue in Gameweek 8? We’ve assessed some of the most recent matches to find out whether Barnes is worth holding or if his colleague Wood is hogging the spoils at Burnley.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

Has Barnes been unfortunate not to score recently?

Out of every problem comes a solution. KDB injury allows me to move him out for Cantwell and bring in Auba this week for Barnes. I will only lose £0.2m so can bring him back IF I want to. A nagging groin injury is a nightmare so we shall see if he is OK.

Would you do it if the move cost 0.5 to buy back?
      My current predicament

Difficult. I might still do it as I have the funds looking ahead. Its a lot of cash though. Also depends on your bench I guess.

Too much on the buy back ultimately. Think i'll be waiting unless it enables some seemingly great transfers Auba etc

If it is a recurring injury/prolonged I will lose the money anyway...

Man City attack / Pep Roulette

City’s 7 matches with 2 wide men results in 14 selections:
Sterling has had 6 (Bilva slotted left for 1) Mahrez has had 4 (Bilva slotted right for 3)

Sterling 6, Mahrez 4, Bilva 4: there is your 14 selections.
With no Sane- this comes as expected

Additionally in 7 matches with 3 midfielders it’s 21 selections
Rodri starts 6 (Gundog slotted in v BOU) KDB starts 6 (Gundog slotting in v Norwich)
David Silva starts 5 (Guess who - Gundog slotting in twice v Spurs and Everton)
Rodri 6, KDB 6, Dilva 5, Gundog 4. There’s your 21 selections. No surprises there then.

Further, 7 matches with 1 striker Hence 7 selections Aguero starts 5 Jesus starts 2. There's your 7 selections

In summary : looks at glance that:
    Gundog is midfield cover
    Bilva is wide cover
    Jesus is striker cover.

All these cover players have chance this weekend due:
to Kevin’s injury doubt and Mahrez and Aguero mins.
However with no international duty for Aguero - I actually think he will start v Wolves but Jesus was fantastic v Wolves in last league match at Etihad in January.
Aguero tends to start Etihad games.
Jesus started the last few away games and a couple in London early on.
Other factors can be argued for both Jesus or Aguero to start.

And Mahrez is brilliant and surely has superb case to not be left out/ rotated.

Sterling, Dilva, Gundog and Rodri are definite starters for me.

    1. Will it be Mahrez or Bilva wide right
    2. Will it be Aguero or Jesus
    3. Will Mahrez start with Bilva central at expense of Dilva or Gundog?
    4. Will Pep throw Foden in the mix - this would be true Roulette.

Does that take into account current form, playing minutes in midweek and other factors?

If i recall correctly, Salah’s predicted score for this gw is still the same as last week. What i wanna ask is does his poor form currently play into factor?

I could equally argue his home form is in fact very good.

RMT does look at past returns to calculate the scores

Got Aguero and KDB.... problem is I also have Aurier and Hayden, playing lundstram and Kelly this week...

This leaves me with Rico as my only eligible sub, and with arsenal away it looks like a 0 for him...

Question is, do I ship Kun for Auba and also KDB out for someone else and take the -4?

Also, who is looking like the best KDB replacement if so? Keen to stick with a city asset so maybe b.silva or Mahrez? Can’t afford Raz unfortunately
