Cantwell starts for Norwich as Lovren comes in for Liverpool

Todd Cantwell (£5.0m) has come through injury doubts to start Norwich’s Gameweek 8 meeting with Aston Villa.

The left-winger was reported to have suffered from a hamstring problem earlier in the week – but manager Daniel Farke was right to be positive about it in his latest press conference.

Still awaiting his first attacking returns since the Canaries’ last home fixture, Cantwell keeps his place on the left of an attacking midfield trio that also includes Marco Stiepermann (£5.4m) and Emi Buendía (£6.0m) in support of Teemu Pukki (£7.2m).

Elsewhere in the Norwich team, budget goalkeeper Michael McGovern (£4.0m) gets his first start of the season as Tim Krul (£4.5m) and Ralf Fährmann (£4.4m) remain ruled out with injuries.

The Northern Ireland international will face an Aston Villa side set up in similar fashion to the 2-2 draw with Burnley last week.

Dean Smith has retained the 4-3-3 formation once again but, for the second match in a row, has deployed Jack Grealish (£5.9m) on the flanks of the front-three, alongside Anwar El Ghazi (£5.5m) and Wesley (£6.0m).

Liverpool’s attacking assets are all as they should be this afternoon, leading the attack in 4-3-3 formation.

The big team news from Anfield is that Dejan Lovren (£5.3m) comes into the side for his first appearance of the season.

That might prove something of a concern for those invested in the Liverpool defence with Joel Matip (£5.5m) still out injured and Joe Gomez (£5.2m) coming in for criticism midweek.

Meanwhile, Leicester arrive on Merseyside with James Maddison (£7.1m) restored to the starting line-up after he missed the Gameweek 7 win over Newcastle.

Owners of Burnley attacking assets will be pleased to Johann Berg Gudmundsson (£5.9m) back in the side, making his first start since Gameweek 3.

The Clarets’ opponents Everton line up with Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£5.8m) leading the one-man attack once again.

Finally, Watford have bravely tried to match Sheffield United’s perplexing 3-5-2 formation with a similar system of their own.

Quique Sanchez Flores has deployed his players in a 3-4-1-2 formation while the Blades remain unchanged.

Burnley XI: Pope; Pieters, Mee, Tarkowski, Lowton; McNeil, Westwood, Hendrick, Gudmundsson; A Barnes, Wood.

Everton XI: Pickford; Digne, Mina, Keane, Coleman; Delph, Schneiderlin; Iwobi, Sigurdsson, Richarlison; Calvert-Lewin.

Liverpool XI: Adrian; Robertson, van Dijk, Lovren, Alexander-Arnold; Wijnaldum, Milner, Fabinho; Mané, Firmino, Salah.

Leicester XI: Schmeichel; Chilwell, Söyüncü, Evans, R Pereira; Ndidi; Maddison, Tielemans, Praet, H Barnes; Vardy.

Norwich XI: McGovern; Lewis, Amadou, Godfrey, Aarons; McLean, Leinter; Cantwell, Stiepermann, Buendía; Pukki

Aston Villa XI: Heaton; Targett, Mings, Engels, Guilbert; McGinn, Nakamba, Hourihane; Grealish, Wesley, El Ghazi.

all the crap teams are better than they used to be, that's what I'm blaming it on - you used to be able to go 'oh Newcastle are shite I'll get Kane and captain him' and then get double-digits, but these days it just doesn't go like that

    On the question of:

If Mane & Salah were the same price, which one would you buy?

'Very' quick straw poll suggests: Salah 4; Mane 3 (with good points made on both fronts)

I don't have stats myself to back anything up, nor do I personally intend to 🙂

Anyone got figures to hand based on points per game overall?

Why is Mark holding onto Martial? He's been injured for like ages.

What are Wickham owners doing? 2 points all season and 99% for a drop on FPLStatistics. Feels like time to give up on him
