Lanzini returns for West Ham as Roberto makes first league start

Manuel Lanzini (£6.5m) is back in the West Ham line-up for a Gameweek 8 clash with Crystal Palace.

The Argentinian midfielder starts in attacking midfielder for the first time since Gameweek 5, flanked by Felipe Anderson (£6.9m) and Andriy Yarmolenko (£6.0m), who has three goals in his last four matches.

While the Hammers are in decent attacking form, there may be concerns over their defence in the long-term absence of Lukasz Fabianski (£5.1m).

He sustained a hip injury in the draw with Bournemouth in Gameweek 7 and is, naturally unavailable this evening.

That means Roberto (£4.4m) comes in for his first league start of the campaign, although he has come in for criticism from West Ham fans for his performances in the cup competitions.

Aaron Cresswell (£4.9m) keeps Arthur Masuaku (£4.5m) out of the left-back spot for the third match in a row, while Ryan Fredericks (£4.5m) makes his eighth successive start of the campaign.

Luka Milivojevic (£6.7m) serves his one-match suspension for Crystal Palace today so it will be interesting to see who takes penalty kicks if his side are awarded one.

James McCarthy (£4.4m) comes in for the Serbian international, making his first league start for the Eagles.

Roy Hodgson has gone with the same centre-back pairing that kept a clean sheet against Norwich last time out with Gary Cahill (£4.5m) captaining the side and Martin Kelly (£4.1m) still bearing the torch for starting defenders in his price bracket.
