Why has Pukki’s FPL form dipped and should we sell him for Gameweek 9?

Fantasy Premier League managers have finally lost patience with Teemu Pukki (£7.1m).

Despite scoring 37 points in the first four Gameweeks of the campaign, the Norwich City striker has attacking returns in just one of his last five Premier League outings.

That has led to a significant drop in Pukki’s ownership ahead of Gameweek 9, 270,000+ managers selling him so far over the international break.

Not surprisingly, that makes the Finland international the most transferred-out player following Gameweek 8, Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) sat behind him on 235,000+ sales.

However, 40.6% of Fantasy managers worldwide are still in possession of Pukki, while he was still the most popular forward in Gameweek 9 teams among the top 10,000 too.

With Norwich preparing for a trip to Bournemouth, who are not exactly famed for a solid defensive record, there will almost certainly be a large number of managers contemplating whether or not to give Pukki one more week.

We’ve taken a look at his underlying statistics over the first eight Gameweeks of the season to find out…

    I am actually thinking Sterling to KDB. Do not feel confident about KDB's fitness and that would make Sterling City's best attacking option should KDB pick up more niggles?

        Sterling is a season keeper for me. I think that the current trend to sell him will hit many and there will be a mad scramble to get him back involving hits galore. KDB I want but thankfully don't have currently . I want to know whether he starts and Pep ain't going to reveal this before the Palace game. He may say in his usual way that he is fit to start but this means f all in Pep speak.

    All said and done he is still great value for money and a 3 game barren spell is to be expected for premiums not to mind this lad.

        I am on about the article subject Pukki.

        I think lots of managers just sold him because of the impending price drop like KDB and i can kind of understand that considering there are some tasty differentials around that price.

        I get a taste of sick in my mouth too when i see his high ownership and but it is what it is.

      Actually the form of Tammy/Wilson turning managers heads IMO.
      Vardy also possible with 2m £ downgrade elsewhere so ..

        This is a major worry alright but that goal did come against one of the best defenses Liverpool so there is some hope for his owners.

            Maybe but it may also indicate that he is best against better teams and playing on the counter attack.

    Looking back it's pretty funny the heavily backed Norwich lost 5-1 to Villa at home. Also funny Villa's form man McGinn walked away with 1 point.

      Not funny at all. Firstly Norwich were not heavily backed , in fact their price drifted alarmingly on the Saturday before kick off and any individual player can have a non scoring day.

        Dont wc. You have the same problems as most people here who are thinking to wc. Changes that are needed in my opinion are loose double pool defence (VVD), reshuffle attack but maybe keep Haller for now. Also if you want downgrade Ederson to Pope when you have time to do it.

          Yeah, I feel losing VVD & Ederson surely is a must now especially with both defs not looking as strong as last season & also frees up some funds especially for attack which I'd certainly need.

            With my current team on a -8, still debating whether to play the WC or save it a few weeks more for when more drastic changes needed.

            A) Current team:

            -8 0itb
            HEATON
            VVD, Soy, Rico
            Mané, KDB, Mount, STERLING
            VARDY, Abraham, Wilson
            (BUTTON) (Lunds, CANTWELL, KELLY)

            B) Potential WC team:

            0.7itb
            POPE
            TAA, Soy, TOMORI
            Mané, KDB, Mount, MADDISON
            KUN, Abraham, Wilson
            (MCGOVERN) (Rico, Lunds, DENDO)

            So far the consensus has been no need to ‘waste’ the WC now but looking at what I could have I’m not sure!!
