Mcginn has scored against Spurs and Arsenal already this season, not sure you should be benching him in those fixtures. But I'll caveat that by saying I'm a biased villa fan.

      A.

      McGinn vs Maddi.
      5.8 vs 7.1

      More value in Mcginn.

Bolly bonus magnet more points than Soy.

Salah is still FPL King and will explode.

        cheers for the reasoning

its even more of a split in value

got McGinn for 5.5 and maddison is 7.2 now

just gonna end up without any leicester players then i suppose

    6. ZimZalabim

I was on B for most of this week but with that maddison rise the other day im 0.1 off getting this combo also i kind of want salah over mane but to fit him in i then have to keep McGinn who ive had since the start of the season but he has two tough fixtures in the next three also ill end up without any Leicester assets if I go for A

What do you guys think ?

      1. FOO FIGHTER

I have had McGinn from the start as well and do not intend to get rid.

Could argue McGinn has 6 pretty tough fixtures in the next 8.

Fixtures aside, McGinn too much value to get rid. Villa also do not look too bad going forward so always a chance of him knicking a goal.

            4 years, 5 months ago

Also he did score away at Spurs and Arsenal

so could see him get some returns in these fixtures and he enables salah

            1. FOO FIGHTER
              • 4 Years

I like McGinn. Not explosive but he is a bit like a silent assasin. Pops up out of nowhere and in the points.

Can't really argue against any of your points here. Definite value & a chance of attacking returns for sure. Personally more confidence in Leicester but you have to pay for that.

If you're set on Salah then something has to give and he's absolutely up there as one of the better options.

I sold salah last year and was burned and dont want to make the same mistake again I dunno if im leaning more towards him because of this.
The fact i got Mcginn at 5.5 is also making wanna hold him more than if id brought him in now

got a week left to decide, cheers for the replies guys

I know some think it's crazy and too early to jump on Tierney but i think i'm gonna take an early punt on him over the likes of Otamendi or Boly and try to get ahead of the crowd? I've been watching him closely and he looks like he's gonna be an amazing FPL prospect (up there with TAA, Robbo & Pereira in my eyes) and i think once he starts (likely next gameweek or 2 very most) he will cement his spot immediately and with that incredible Arsenal fixture run could become near essential and rise in price very quickly? Arsenal's defence beginning to look a bit more solid which will only improve with Tierney, Bellerin, Holding all back in contention too i can actually see some cleanies with the fixtures? I need a few diffs as had my worst ever start to a season languishing at 1.5m...time to turn the tide with a few maverick moves for me?!! Anyone else with me and considering an early move for Tierney?

    1. FOO FIGHTER
      • 4 Years
      4 years, 5 months ago

Have not seen much of Tierney but yeah, Arsenal do look better at the back. It is Emery that you have to worry about though.

      1. Krafty Werks
        • 9 Years

It's a calculated risk i'm willing to take and always have Lundstram or Rico as back up if he does rotate (which i do actually find unlikely tbh?), if it doesn't work out first few i can always move on? Need punts!!

I am at 885k and also going the different route. My plan no City. Spread points equally in my whole team. Strong bench will make up for injuries and less hits. Plus rotation of players with better fixtures. Loading my defence too.

No more Pep playing around with expensive FPL assets for me anymore.

Sounds like a plan Batman!! I'm only taking KDB from City and only if he's 100% fit, good luck mate.

Good luck to you too mate! Hope Tierney works for you. I like defenders which provide attacking returns and Tierney is one of those.

I would be taking him mainly on his attacking potential a bit like TAA or Pereira but with the fixture run and all the defenders about to return which i already highlighted i can actually see a much more solid Arsenal and some cleanies coming to fruition? If he plays certainly has more attacking threat than Otamendi and City hardly looking ultra solid at the back right now? Pereira is a consideration but then it means Pereira & Kelly over Tierney & Soyuncu, i need diffs and Pereira ownership currently 10% and rising Tierney 0.8%...i personally think i both like/need the punt in my position?

Yeah this is my current thought mate regarding B, I think my slight reluctance towards Abraham C is due to the fact I captained against Brighton and got no returns, I think I need to get over that coz Newcastle at home is definitely a captainable fixture, Vardy is the one I’d feel most comfortable captaining but has by far the more difficult fixture unfortunately!!

tough one probably Rico just norwich conceding more than west ham and hes on some set pieces also bournemouth scoring more than Everton

But all that being said why own Digne if you not going to play him at home to West Ham

I'd rather sell Digne tbh. How the stocks have fallen for DIGNE is resounding 😮
Everton have just lost it so not at all interested

As per your question, I'd play Rico. He's creative many chances too

        Cheers, appreciate it.

Whomever I bring in for Digne would need to get a cleanie and BAPS to match what I reckon Wilson can rack up against NOR - I'll go Wilson first......

Yeah Sterling let me down 3 times already as a captain. Just feel like it's only a minor setback and he'll be back soon. Was planning going 3-4-3 but when i compare Connolly to the 4.5 midfielders around he is so much more exciting. If i get hit by Pep-roulette, injury or traoré turns cold i'll gladly play him.

    Pope Button
    TAA Otamendi Lundstram Tomori Soy
Mane Sterling De Bruyne Mount Cantwell
    Barnes Pukki Abraham

    a) go 4-4-2 Barnes+Pukki out, Connolly+Vardy in
    b) Barnes/Pukki out King+Jimenez in

Agreed, it's not helpful but it's the conclusion I've come to on a lot o these type of comparisons during my WC.

Aguero/Sterling, Mane/Salah, etc. All likely to be much of a muchness. Just depends what you do with the savings in my eyes.

      I think so.

People are going for KDB and Raz or Kun, but at the expense of Mané, Salah or Auba.

They are all going to score pretty similarly by the end of the season, so going Kdb and Auba or KDB and Mo isn’t really going to make any difference.

      If you get my drift?

Prefer Kun over Kane any day. Spurs not looking that good and city will score many more goals.

The way I see it is that Kane is nailed on, so there’s no panic attacks 1 hour and 5 minutes before Spurs play worrying if Kane is going to be in the starting 11.

The “Spurs are rubbish at the moment” argument is flawed.

They’re not going to suddenly stop scoring goals anymore, regardless of how badly they’re playing right now. Kane will, statistically speaking, be involved in most of them.

City score lots but the goals are shared around the team. This affects Aguero. Guys like Kane and Aubameyang pretty much have a monopoly on their teams goals.

If they both stay healthy it will be interesting to see how far apart they are from each other, points wise, by the end of GW37.

I don’t think there will be much in it all.

I was referring to few posts above where you responded to go Kun over Auba.

But i do agree with you. That 1.0mil extra when going Kane or Auba over Kun goes a long way

              Sorry reply fail.

I was assuming you had no other City cover, in which case you’d be daft not to have a City attacker.

I hav Kun at the moment as well as KDB, but if I was a WCing this week I’d be going for Auba or Kane instead.

                Agreed.

How do you rate Firmino as an option? Looks to be in his best form ever and could be worth the extra 0.6 over Vardy. Leicester get good results and they have the fixtures, but aren’t scoring for fun

The Maddison price rise has messed up my wildcard, so let's talk keepers.. Now that Im forced to look for other options, it looks like few other keepers may offer better value vs Pope.

    Long term until next WC

Gazza (Spurs) vs Roberto (WHU) vs Henderson (SHU) vs XXXXX

Which is a better 4.5 or lower replacement for Pope until next WC ??

I've gone Gazza, Spurs can only improve from where they are.

Leaning towards Gazza atm. Gives me an extra 0.2 over Pope.

interesting topic as I've been looking at keepers myself, hoping to get a bit of an edge each week as many overlook this position.

I haven't been a fan of rotating keepers BUT look how well Guaita, Pope, Heaton scored at home this year compared to away.

Also, I know you said money is tight but I can't see past Schmeichel as a set and forget for 5 mil

problem on Schmeichel is that you can “set and forget” Soyuncu for 0.3 less

Henderson is another set and forget. No worrying about Lloris or Fabianski coming back and you having to get a new keeper.

@Nomar only 4 decent winnable homegames over the next 12 GWs for Hendo

              Fine.

You can always bookmark this thread.

Then go get Gazzaniga or Roberto.

Come back to it in 12 weeks time and see whose got the most points in that period of time out of those three keepers.

Im trying to understand your reasoning behind it.

Gazza may be poor but its still Spurs, a top 6 side. Potential for CS is higher. Plus they are allowing lot of shots so thats more save points.

Roberto is new option for me but WHU has a decent defense, decent next 6 fixtures. He's not my first choice though

Yes, I already have Soy. And with doubling up defense, you never know when form will take a hit or the narrative changing.

And yeah I agree with rotating. Many smaller teams tend to play muhc much better at home defensively. But in this case will have to go with a 4.0 to make money available elsewhere

agree, although I'd prefer to be playing a defender with more attacking threat if I'm going to start one every week. Not a slot I'd want to waste. But if budget wouldn't allow, I'd prefer Lund over Soy for a cheap defender

I feel the same.. prefer full backs. But Ive gone with Soy for Leicester fixtures for CS potential more than anything. Will try to fit in Lundstram but if not, Ill get him after 6-7 GWs. He's pretty much blanked all GWs except 2 where a lot of people left him on the bench.

I was exactly on 0.0 for my preferred team with Maddison in it.
Was struggling between Maddison vs Jiminez so hadnt added him to the team yet. When I finally decided on MAddison he went up :/ And Vardy is way out of budget and I want Leicester attacking cover over next few GWs

    Ryan
    VVD Otamendi TAA
    KDB Cantwell Salah Sterling Mount
    Abraham Pukki

    Button Lundstram Kelly Greenwood

    0.4m itb

Need to freshen up the team a little willing to take a hit or 2

What’s the odds KDB doesn’t even drop 0.1 during his absence

It’s not even subtle from FPL Towers how uneven the system is

Maddison has gone up 0.2 despite being flagged for most of the last 3 weeks

Just looked at my team for the first time since Monday morning.

My midfield virtually all yellow flags. Cantwell, Salah, KDB, Dendoncker. Only Mount so far isn’t flagged.

That’ll probably change too after Bulgaria.
