Which of Leicester’s FPL assets appeal for their favourable fixture run?

Having been bottom of our Season Ticker for fixture difficulty over the first eight Gameweeks of the season, Leicester City are about to embark on much more favourable run of matches.

Over their next nine games, the Foxes meet only one ‘big six’ team (Arsenal), play two newly promoted clubs and face five of the sides that finished in the bottom half of the Premier League table in 2018/19.

Five of Leicester’s next nine fixtures are at home, too.

As a result, Brendan Rodgers’ side sits top of our Season Ticker between Gameweeks 9 and 17.

Interest from the Fantasy community in Leicester’s assets is hotting up ahead of this appealing sequence of games.

Ricardo Pereira (£6.2m) is currently the most-bought Fantasy Premier League defender of Gameweek 9, while James Maddison (£7.2m) and Jamie Vardy (£9.0m) are the third-most-transferred in players in their respective positions, too.

The Foxes currently sit fourth in the Premier League table despite facing the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United (insert your own jokes here about the fall from graces of some of these once-great sides) in the opening two months of 2019/20, so interest from an FPL perspective is clearly merited based on recent results alone.

What do the underlying statistics say about Leicester assets, though? We delve into the numbers in our latest Members article below.

    Hey guys

Looking to upgrade my forwards currently on Greenwood Pukki and Wilson (Greenwood ---> Vardy or Abraham). In order to facilitate this move would you lose Sterling or Salah?

Have KDB and Ota for Man city cover
    Robertson for liverpool cover.

Really torn which mid to move!! Any ideas? 0.8 ITB/2FT

Not a single one of the people who replied to you have their team linked...

      Squad value is 101.5

I'm guessing the people near 103 have had certain players since the first game week and will lose most of that value when selling

      1. Murder On Zidanesfloor
        • 5 Years
        4 years, 5 months ago

There are people here who have 104+. 103 is just slightly above average imo

        1. Murder On Zidanesfloor
          • 5 Years
          4 years, 5 months ago

So you dont need Team links to validate 103's

        2. fusen
          • 12 Years
          4 years, 5 months ago

There are accounts that purely just play to get the maximum team value. So yes, there may even be 105m accounts, that doesn't change what I've said.

People "exaggerate" on this site all the time, so unless a team is linked I'm going to assume there's a 50/50 chance something isn't true.

Selling value is a much more interesting number IMO, as shows useful numbers vs 'showy' numbers.

          1. Murder On Zidanesfloor
            • 5 Years
            4 years, 5 months ago

Yes but Selling value and Team value are directly proportional. And I know good players who have high 103s and early 104s.

£101.6m but I don't pay much attention to value. Probably a result of missing out on the Pukki and Cantwell party.

Better value than Vardy in FWDs with Wilson, Tammy and Jimmy. Pereira too expensive for a Lei defender for me, when Soy is available for much cheaper.

Leaves Maddison, on set pieces and looks better every game, possibly even underpriced at 7.2...That's who I'll be getting soon

Vardy is a consistent performer each season. Pereira leading the defender points table alongside TAA.

For a combined 15.2m as it stands with their price, extremely good value for a double up IMO.

    A) Otamendi, Son, Vardy, Saka (sub), 0.6m itb

With the way Leicester are playing under Rodgers, Vardy is more suited to getting more points against non top 6 teams. Vardy's goals this season came against: shu, BOU and NEW while he blanked against all top teams so far. Perfect time to bring him in imo.

How much Leicester is too much

Treble up looks tempting - certainly an attacking double up anyways

Vardy & Maddison surely set for points

      Keep or Sell Pukki?

      Bring in Wilson or Vardy?

Is Pereira worth 1.6m more than Soy?

Is Rico 100% nailed on now? Is he the best cheapest defender to get given Bou's fixtures and the amount of set pieces he takes?

Is Tierney/Bellerin an option now? Tierney was impressive the last EL game.

Given Odoi looks to be back now, will Lampard give him extended game time? The competition for midfield is tough at Chelsea but Lampard has gone with young blood this season, will that continue with Odoi in particular?

      Awesomeness.
Is it time to flog Pukki?
Maddi or Vardy as one's Lei attacker?
Wilson or King for Bou's attacker?
Is KDB sufficient as City cover going forwards? Or do we need 1 of Sterling/Aguero/Mahrez/Bilva too?
Is going 3 cheaper strikers up top better value than bringing in a premium such as Auba/Aguero/Kane?

Team - Wolves. Have Wolves shown enough improvement from their early season struggles to now become viable fantasy alternatives? Are regular starters like Jimenez and Boly now worth consideration?

Player - Callum Hudson Odoi. Is it smart to move early on him when he is not yet template?

Hi Joe...with so many players due back from injuries for Norwich (9 apparently) is it worth keeping hold of the likes of Pukki and Cantwell for couple more weeks and see if there’s an improvement? Cheers...

Anyone else feel like it's less 'can't have them all' than 'don't want any of them'?
Very few reliable premiums, big team defences are shaky, resulting in looking at loading up on non big 6 teams like Leicester.

      1. Maximus Bonimus Pointimus

        4 years, 5 months ago

        Yep

Tammy, Wilson, Vardy, Pukki all way (imo) better options than Kun, Kane, Auba

Sterling's form is in the toilet
Salah 3 blanks in a row
Mane attracting lots of new owners

Cheaper options KDB, Mount, Maddison, McGinn etc putting them to shame - lean times for the big hitters at the minute

Mo is just a brace away from being back to everyone 's golden child though

Agreed they're all on a streak at the moment but to me they seem like streaky players anyway. Ones we have looked to jump on and off in addition to relatively steady performing premiums. Without them, as is now, it's like we're looking at the streakers for the bulk of our points. Feels wrong.

Player: Callum Wilson - captaincy candidate or has he been lucky so far?

Team: Leicester - who is worth getting, how many? Is Pereira worth the extra £s over other defenders?

Issue: Should we be moving away from the top 2 teams? Liverpool because of fixture; Man City because of rotation and defensive injuries.

        Great question on Liverpool fixtures

Are they being falsely flagged as difficult?

Surely utd & spurs are actually plum fixtures on current form...

        Also - Allison's imminent return!

FDR is a light guide. Sensible folks take it and alter it to their own opinion on fixtures difficulty.

Rather spend time altering fixtures to my own personal colour codes than look at underlying stats like touches in opposing box and expected goals.

The FDR customisation functionality is definitely good - but i suppose it would also be nice if our membership fees got us a ticker that is more closely signed with the current reality and contains some type of feedback loop that someone would maintain - spurs and utd are absolute train wrecks on current form

I agree, tempted to keep VVD. It would mean taking a cheaper Leicester defender instead of Pereira (hence that question). I'm not selling TAA and would probably keep Robertson too.

      1) Should we be captaining Chelsea players more often? They are a super attacking team that can't defend. Their game is to outscore their opponents. Tammy seems to be the best captain pick this week.

      2) Why does Mark still have Martial?

I'd just like to make the point that as we approach the winter fixture schedule that every pundit, pod caster, radio and TV station tells us that the games come thick and fast. It's getting on my nerves. Can we make the ScoutCast a thick and fast free zone? In my view, the games don't come thick and fast, they come Many and Most. Thanks.

      Best midprice forward until christmas?

Is one premium defender the way to go? Or shall we stick with TAA+1?

How many Leicester players for the next week? Caglar with good value, Vardy is Vardy and Maddison seems to be offer a lot of potential, but he is fighting with in tough price bracket in midfield.

And finally: Mane or Salah? Mane with better form and about 1m cheaper ... but it is still Salah!

Player: Callum Wilson - with the combination of great upcoming fixtures and consistent delivery of FPL point so far this season, is he the best forward option atm? (Bournemouth fan reluctant to overcome my team bias and get him in)

Team: Leicester - great fixture swing, which out of Söyüncü, Pereira, Madison, Tielemans and Vardy are worth considering? Scoutcast going with 0,1,2 or 3 of the foxes?

Issue: patience vs bandwagon hoping - in the meet the manager series and other FPL strategy guidance, patience has been a key word. We all have rationale behind the players we have picked. However with the likes of first Pukki and now Tammy emerging as ‘bandwagon’ options not in many teams at the start of the season but if you don’t jump on are punished (points returns, rising value and dangaerous ownership levels), should this logic be consistent? At what point do you need to overcome stubbornness and join the crowd?

      Liverpool
      1. Is Salah really a better option (even with pens) than Mane considering their form.
      2. Liverpool having tough fixtures is a myth, right?

Vardy - Is the party about to begin, how do Leicester look for attacking returns in general, or could he and LEI be a trap?

Mid price to Premium defenders - will they prove worth it over their cheaper counterparts this season?
(PVA in my case...Ricardo v Sonyuncu is a good example and a relevant one this week with many looking at LEI assets)

    Morning all!

Happy to say that I'll be writing a regular, fortnightly article for FFScout. I am thinking of adopting ideas from my "Black box thinking" podcast (thanks to anyone that listened last year) - so looking at decisions, thinking about mistakes and documenting what worked and what didn't work.

I'm still working on the exact format, but as well as reviewing (and likely moaning) about my season, I am of course looking to take hindsight and think about how this can be used to make better decisions going forward.

Is there anything that you guys think would work in a regular piece, that may be missing from other articles on the site? Anything you think I should avoid? Or is there just anything that you'd like to see me touch on and make a regular feature of the articles? I'm sure the articles will evolve as I do more of them, and your feedback will be crucial. Ideally I'd like to write stuff that people enjoy, and get some benefit from, rather than something that just gets ignored.

Hope you'll all check them out when the drop!
