Scoutcast Episode 298 – Bandwagons

In last week’s relatively tranquil episode, patience was being preached. This time around it’s a different story as bandwagons pick up pace, early transfers are made and tempers become frayed.

Joe, Az and David consider the merits of Norwich’s four-goal hero Teemu Pukki and other bandwagons ahead of Gameweek 3.

The dos and don’ts of addressing the heightened transfer market activity this week is a key discussion in this latest episode, as our podcast trio give their tips on knowing when to jump aboard and when to wave a player away.

Along the way Az and Joe round on David’s differential nominee and whether this bargain-priced midfielder can be a regular member of Fantasy managers’ line-ups.

Meanwhile, Az is forced onto the back foot when it comes to justifying a double Liverpool defence strategy early on in the campaign.

The Fantasy Premier League community’s love-affair with Liverpool assets across the park is also considered, with differing opinions continuing when it comes to the merits of Reds frontman Roberto Firmino.

The Scoutcast crew do sing from the same hymn sheet eventually when it comes to their opinion on Sheffield United fans’ dubious teamsheet predictions.

Elsewhere, the best bets for clean sheets over the next four weeks are examined and the crew reveal their transfer plans and the players they have already brought in.

    Armed with 2FT

Which option do you think is best?

    A) Perez & Wilson > Martial & Pukki

    B) Pérez, Aubameyang & Wilson> KDB, Rashford & Pukki - 4

    C) Aubameyang, Wilson & Pérez > Kane, Pukki & Martial - 4

A - avoid unnecessary hits, and both smart moves.

About the same, Mount has a nice couple of fixtures whereas Trossard has one good fixture next then one tough one where he may be benched. Better to start with Mount and move across to Trossard in GW5 then vice versa if you get me.

I'd have to downgrade someone to switch him out for Mount or a similar player. Maybe Digne to Mina.

Cebellos is a risky one but what's wrong with the other 10?

          • 8 Years

No no, nothing wrong with it at all. I’ve got a fairly similar wildcard, so naturally I largely like the team you’ve built.

The only difference is I’ve got Adrian/Zinchenko/Martial/Mount instead of Ederson/VVD/Lundstrum/Ceballos which is a difference of £1.5m, so your bench must have some strength to it!

    3. Zenith UK

Nice team, would like to see the bench. Think it's counter productive playing Ceballos and VVD but that's personal opinion...

  5. Karan14

Pretty settled on this wildcard team:

    Pope
    AWB - VVD - Laporte - Digne
    Mane - Sterling - KDB - Martial
    Pukki - Barnes

    (4.0 - Lundstarm - Cantwell - Greenwood)

Don't fancy Kane more interested in Son but I want to wait a couple of weeks before getting him as Spurs midfield has too many options.

    Thoughts?

Since the past couple of seasons I mostly captain a premium midfielder and it has paid off with Sterling, Salah & Hazard. They are almost playing like strikers and post similar stats to premium strikers. They also get extra points for goals & CS.

Yeah there are alot of other options in the 6.5-7m striker bracket so I'm hoping I can move them around according to fixtures & form.
