Scoutcast discusses Pukki, Leicester and emerging FPL trends

After a long international break, the Scoutcast is back to discuss all the key talking points ahead of Gameweek 9.

You can watch it from 20:00 to 21:00 BST on our YouTube channel, or embedded in the article below.

For Episode 304, Joe is joined by Fantasy Football Scout editor David and special guest Sam Bonfield, one half of the well-known FPL Family.

Currently enjoying a 19k worldwide rank, Sam is a regular on the FPL Show, FPLFYI and the official FPL podcast.

She will be making her debut on the Scoutcast tonight after contributing to articles on Fantasy Football Scout over the last 12 months.

On the show tonight, we will be looking at what has become of Teemu Pukki (£7.1m) in recent weeks, as well as whether Leicester are a team we should be looking at going forward.

Finally, we will also be discussing how best we can pick up emerging trends in Fantasy, to make sure we are ahead of the curve on any upcoming bandwagons.

Always like defenders with attacking potential and think for some CS will start again. Then WC could be:

If you are happy to play 4 at the back then you are good to go. 4 big hitters in MF limits your options but they are all very good and up front 2 also decent. Not sure I would lose Son with Watford at home next but as you know there may be a doubt in his minutes as coming back from fields afar.

If KDB injured then could be time to replace with Mount maybe and upgrade greenwood or Cantwell

What would you change in this WC draft?

    Pope - McGovern

    Wilson - Tammy - Connolly

    1. zotter
      • 14 Years

Rico for Baluta. Ideally get Mount but can’t see how. Madisson equally potent. Wilson to jiminez and McGinn to mount ?

      1. Lav
        • 7 Years
        4 years, 5 months ago

Think I prefer Wilson to Jimenez. I know everyone is high on Mount, but I am content with one Chelsea attacker for now (especially as a fan). CHO interests me more anyways. Rico really worth it for a 5th defender that barely will feature?

As a chels fan I’m interested to hear what you’ve seen from mount that doesn’t interest you?

I honestly think he has been lucky with a lot of his contributions. It has just come from hard work. He is definitely nailed for now, but that could change in a few months when RLC returns. I also think CHO can impact his productivity. Tammy is the best option too, and I think we are overall hot and cold. I am just not as convinced that he is essential like some are suggesting.

1 or 2 GWs at best, but id look to upgrading that 3.9non playing to a 5.5 defender (Tierney/Matip/Otamendi) or at the very least to a 4.5ish defender, Dunk/Targett/Soyuncu etc

Or could you squeeze Soy & Tammy in instead?

    Pope / [ 1 ]
    TAA / Pereira / [ 2 ] / Lundstram / Rico
    [ 3 ] / KDB / Maddison / Mount / Cantwell
    Vardy / Wilson / Abraham

    1) Button or McGovern?
    2) Unknown DEF
    3) Salah or Mané

    Which combo?
    A - Salah & [5.0m] Boly, leaving 0.0 ITB
    B - Salah & [5.0m] Dunk, leaving 0.4 ITB
    C - Mané & [5.9m] Boly, leaving 0.9 ITB
    D - Mané & [5.9m] Dunk, leaving 1.3 ITB
    E - Mané & Azpi/Ota/Tierney/other punt, or alternative.

Don't mind having money ITB. Salah vs. Mané more important.

Is Cantwell -> Traore worth a punt if you have no other pressing issues

      - Playing 5 midfielders, or 4?
      - Which would Traore be? 4th or 5th?

It's still a bit sideways. Not totally unworth a punt though.

LOL y'all are chasing points. Traore only score 2 in 72 games (or something crazy like that) Cantwell has that many this season alone.

prefer Saka, i'm still backing him to force Pepe to the bench once Laca is back. (in both the previous 2 games Pepe has been the first to be substituted).

Think Traore will be back to RWB anyways, and 1 goal in his previous 49 games for Wolves doesn't bode well for the future, even after his brace.

    Abraham (C), Mount & CHO.

Too much of a good thing?

you can never have too much of a good thing 😉

Fwiw, i've gone for the triple up as well, just not captaining Abraham this week, prefer Wilson

I preferred Abraham before I decided I'd bring in CHO, but now I'm considering my 2nd favourite (also Wilson) to 'balance risk'.

You think the whole balancing risk thing is sensible or just go with gut and pray Chelsea score 6?

go all in if you really think Chelsea can score 3+. I always just look at the individual players in my team and go from there; not a fan of the idea of 'cover'.

I reckon both Chelsea & Bournemouth score 3, but Abraham's stats pip Wilson's from what I've seen. All-in it is!

Have two FTs which would enable Coleman & Pukki -> Soyuncu & Abraham leaving me with option A)

    Pope
    VVD Otamendi Soyuncu Dunk
    Salah Sterling Mount James
    Aguero Abraham
    (Button Lundstram Cantwell Wickham)

Is that good to go? or worth thinking about playing the wildcard which is option B):

    Pope
    TAA Otamendi Soyuncu
    Mane KDB Maddison Mount
    Abraham Auba Pukki
    (Button Dunk Lundstram Saka)

I would wildcard. But get pereira if you can. Maybe Pukki to king and dunk to Rico to fund
