Scout’s Pro Pundits Squad adds five new signings

We are delighted to add five more leading names to the Fantasy Football Scout Pro Pundits squad.

Andy, Luke Williams, Sam Bonfield, Holly Shand and Tom Freeman have all come on board to provide even more advice for every aspiring Fantasy manager and help this site maintain its position as the leading resource in the FPL community.

Our Pro Pundits team collects together some of the most influential voices and rising stars from across the Fantasy world to share their insights.

Every week these managers will publish updates on their own FPL selections in the form of articles outlining their tactics and the thought processes behind their selections.

The content produced as a result of this new initiative will benefit both those who are Members of our site and those who are not.

Our Members will benefit from the full unedited insight and some enhanced elements but, as part of our ongoing ten-year commitment to support the Fantasy community as a whole, we are sharing a large amount with all FFS visitors for free.

Furthermore, we are also opening up a chance to engage with the Pro Pundits directly via regular Hot Topics on the site plus appearances on popular videos such as the Scoutcast and Breakfast Club.

Last week, we unveiled that Ash (FPL Hints), Az Phillips, Simon March, Zophar and Lateriser12 had joined the team.

Now we are very excited to double our squad size, with five additional signings.

Our latest Pro Pundit Signings:

  • Andy (Let’s Talk FPL)
  • Luke Williams (d1sable)
  • Sam Bonfield (FPL Family)
  • Holly Shand (FPL Community)
  • Tom Freeman (FFS user avfc82)

Andy is the face of Let’s Talk FPL, one of the leading fantasy YouTube channels and has been a big part of the Scoutcast over a number of years. He has two top 10k finishes and an additional three inside the top 20k over nine years.

Luke comes on board with a slightly different brief to the others. Rather than provide us with written articles on his FPL team, he will star in regular Sky Sports Fantasy videos on our YouTube channels. The fact that both he and Az have joined the team means that their podcast FPL Top Guns will be available to listen to on our website too.

One half of the much-loved FPL Family, Sam has served up two top 30k finishes in the last two seasons and is currently inside the 15k worldwide in what is proving to be a rather challenging 2019/20 campaign. She regularly appears on the FPL Show, the Premier League’s YouTube programme FPLFYI and their official podcast.

Holly, the founder of FPL Community, has two top 10k finishes in five FPL seasons, is a regular guest on the FPL Show and recent addition to the Scoutcast line-up.

Finally, Tom comes onto the team to make most of us feel wildly insecure about our overall rank history. A long-time Fantasy Football Scout user, he has finished inside the top 1,000 a staggering five times since 2009.

To find all the latest Pro Pundits articles, use the navigation menu at the top of the site. You can filter by each author or read all of their content in one place depending on which option you select.

Thank you once again to you are readers for the support you have given us over a period of transition in recent years.

It is through your contributions and input that we are able to continue growing the site and maintaining its position at the top of the Fantasy field.

    Pope | Woodman
    TAA | Robertson | Otamendi | Lundstram | Rico
    Sterling | KDB | Son | Mount | Dendoncker
    Abraham | Pukki | Haller

    Thinking about a -4 for:

Otamendi, Son & Pukki > Soyuncu, Yarmolenko & Aubameyang

Thoughts? I want Vardy but with 2 away games going to avoid for now, Leicester only scored 4 in 4 away from home.

You need to put their away games on context. Sheff U, Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool.

Fair point, even beside that 2 aways is reason enough for me to hold off on getting him in for now.

By GW 12 or 14 I'll definitely have him but for now sticking with Haller for his next 2 home games.

3 Home games in next 4, 4 in next 6. Aubamuyang & Arsenal will come good are you sure you aren't keen on him?

Can't always be looking back, they'll be working towards improving, Aubamuyang doesn't usually have long periods of blanking.

Sat on my WC. Had a tinker with it yesterday and liked the team I came up with (of course). I’ll make 8 or 9 changes.

What are the pitfalls of using it now? What are people saving it for?

I was also looking at Alonso, but is he not an option with Tomori back?

Also, I believe Mount has been playing slightly less attacking since Hudson-Odoi has been in the team. Are people sticking with him or looking at other options?

I usually just use it when it's needed. When there is a combo if multiple injured/dropped players and players simply under performing.
Not if one or two of my expensive players have had a couple of blanks. Provided their stats are looking good, that usually turns around.

    Ryan (Gaz)
    TAA, Tomori, Soyuncu (Rico, Lundstram)
    Mane, KDB, Maddison, Mount (Cantwell)
    Abraham, Wilson, Jiminez

Maddison -> Sterling if he doesn't start midweek.

    Or if he does... ???

Partly it's about being good at the game and partly about being able to communicate your ideas well and having something interesting to say. I guess you also need people prepared to commit some amount of time to put those ideas down in articles/videos/whatever. I guess this team have a mix of those talents (not sure I know that much about any of them). I've spent lots of time sat in offices watching pundits on Bloomberg TV fail miserably to predict anything the market does, then spend lots of time justifying why it didn't do it then predicting all over again for the next day. It's entertainment more than anything.

I've got a few pain points in my team; 2 FT's and 2.3m to sort it.

Which tranfer combo of the below dya think I should go for?

Pain points: Zinchenko, Salah, Dendonker Cantwelll, Greenwood
Options: Tomori, Mane, KDB, Madison, Vardy, Jiminez

And is it worth using 1 FT, both FT or even taking a hit?

Real tough one, the only player you could pull some money from is Salah (of the ones you'd want to lose right now) but as you've held for this long probably the wrong move.

Need to generate some money for KDB but not sure from where.

I don't really like it but maybe:

          Salah, Zinchenko > KDB, TAA

Robbo & TAA may cover any Salah returns?

For me the full backs are like wingers only have the chance of a CS and only 7.2m & 6.9m

Salah vs Mane is pretty even so go for the cheaper option

Firmino too many cheap forward options or players with good runs to use up on Firmino, also we've seen Firmino be pretty streaky before so always a risk getting him in

I've got 2FTs but pretty happy with my team - still the urge to tinker is overwhelming

    Pope - Button
    Matip - Otamendi - Guilbert - Rico - Lundstram
    Salah - Sterling - KDB - Mount - Cantwell
    Wilson - Jimenez - Abraham

Big fat Zero in the bank but like I said 2FTs, anything to be changed?

    TAA
    KDB
    Mane/Salah
    Mount/CHO
    Tammy

Anyone else? Or anyone that shouldn’t be on that list

Hey lads, got 1 FT and 1.6 ITB:

    Pope / 4.0

TAA, Otamendi, Cresswell / Soyuncu, Lundstrom

    Mane, Sterling(c), KDB, Mount, Mcginn

    Abraham, Jimenez / 4.4

Thoughts on who to upgrade? I am worried about McGinn's fixtures but could drop him to bench and start one of my defenders for the City fixture.

    Afternoon all.
In late September one kind soul here warned everyone that Lanzini was a ‘trap’. Wish I had listened to their advice. Well here’s two thoughts - Soyuncu and Otamendi are ‘traps’ in my view. I like a Brendan Rogers side offensively but not defensively while Otamendi has the pool, Chelsea, Utd and Arsenal between gameweeks 12-17.

    1. Fulchester's New Centr…

Got both. Think you're right. I'll keep Ota for a another couple of weeks if he keeps his place; getting sick of Soyunc already, but suspect he'll be around in my team for a while yet.

I think Laporte injury is the straw that broke the camel's back (not that they are doing too badly). Bit like Martial and Utd's forward line issue (though we are that bad).

I think there is little corelation with someone'es "expertise"(a liberal use of the term) and there ability to convey their ideas/thoughts and back em up with credible data.
I thinks its nice to have a team who can present their ideas and thought process really well, and convey it to dumb-dumbs like myself, in a way that is easy to absorb. And seriously, you cant say their ideas are bad if they back em up with data. If it doesn't work out, there are no guaranttees in FPL. You want guarantees, get a washing machine.
