Pro Pundits

Scout’s Pro Pundits Squad adds five new signings

We are delighted to add five more leading names to the Fantasy Football Scout Pro Pundits squad.

Andy, Luke Williams, Sam Bonfield, Holly Shand and Tom Freeman have all come on board to provide even more advice for every aspiring Fantasy manager and help this site maintain its position as the leading resource in the FPL community.

Our Pro Pundits team collects together some of the most influential voices and rising stars from across the Fantasy world to share their insights.

Every week these managers will publish updates on their own FPL selections in the form of articles outlining their tactics and the thought processes behind their selections.

The content produced as a result of this new initiative will benefit both those who are Members of our site and those who are not.

Our Members will benefit from the full unedited insight and some enhanced elements but, as part of our ongoing ten-year commitment to support the Fantasy community as a whole, we are sharing a large amount with all FFS visitors for free.

Furthermore, we are also opening up a chance to engage with the Pro Pundits directly via regular Hot Topics on the site plus appearances on popular videos such as the Scoutcast and Breakfast Club.

Last week, we unveiled that Ash (FPL Hints), Az Phillips, Simon March, Zophar and Lateriser12 had joined the team.

Now we are very excited to double our squad size, with five additional signings.

Our latest Pro Pundit Signings:

  • Andy (Let’s Talk FPL)
  • Luke Williams (d1sable)
  • Sam Bonfield (FPL Family)
  • Holly Shand (FPL Community)
  • Tom Freeman (FFS user avfc82)

Andy is the face of Let’s Talk FPL, one of the leading fantasy YouTube channels and has been a big part of the Scoutcast over a number of years. He has two top 10k finishes and an additional three inside the top 20k over nine years.

Luke comes on board with a slightly different brief to the others. Rather than provide us with written articles on his FPL team, he will star in regular Sky Sports Fantasy videos on our YouTube channels. The fact that both he and Az have joined the team means that their podcast FPL Top Guns will be available to listen to on our website too.

One half of the much-loved FPL Family, Sam has served up two top 30k finishes in the last two seasons and is currently inside the 15k worldwide in what is proving to be a rather challenging 2019/20 campaign. She regularly appears on the FPL Show, the Premier League’s YouTube programme FPLFYI and their official podcast.

Holly, the founder of FPL Community, has two top 10k finishes in five FPL seasons, is a regular guest on the FPL Show and recent addition to the Scoutcast line-up.

Finally, Tom comes onto the team to make most of us feel wildly insecure about our overall rank history. A long-time Fantasy Football Scout user, he has finished inside the top 1,000 a staggering five times since 2009.

To find all the latest Pro Pundits articles, use the navigation menu at the top of the site. You can filter by each author or read all of their content in one place depending on which option you select.

Thank you once again to you are readers for the support you have given us over a period of transition in recent years.

It is through your contributions and input that we are able to continue growing the site and maintaining its position at the top of the Fantasy field.

Zinchenko for max 4.8 and Cantwell to Hudson-Odoi for a -4?

There are a fair few 50/50s from my team to yours that I had considered on WC.

      Examples:

      Pope v Heaton
      Soy v Tomori
      Sterling & Wilson v Aguero & Maddison
      Montoya v Rico

I preferred all of mine, but there is justification for those you’ve chosen and I’d back them too... maybe not Montoya though.

Is Lundstram an auto starter? Can we save money on our bench by treating Lundstram as a set and forget defender? Sheffield look impressive, and he does where the 7 shirt. Should he start him every game week?

It’s a shame there’s no Champions League content. It’s difficulty to get feedback from fellow players as we have to post in amongst the endless FPL RMTs.

It’s a good week to Wildcard, given there is now back to back fixtures. (ABCCAB).

    Here’s my wildcard team:

    OR: 233.

    Wildcard active.

    Ederson
    TAA Kimmich Tagliafico Gabriel Lodi
    Mané Di María Mahrez
    Messi (C2) Lewandowski (C1)

      A. Vardy probably a season keeper and Bobby more a hop-on-hop-off kind of a guy so it gives you one less thing to worry about.

Nah, if you have like 500k 90th 300k that just shows you were extremely fortunate in that second season.

What makes a good fpl manager is consistency. Constant top 20k finishes with the odd low 4 figures

There’s no way I’m looking past Aguero. Nor would I look past Sterling if I owned him instead.

In fact, the top 3 captaincy picks should be:

Hudson-Odoi is looking a better option by the week. That's 3 attacking returns in 3 games for "CHO" and he also got 3 bonus points in their win against Newcastle.

Anyone looking to bring him in?
Are there any better options for 6.0?
Does anyone have reservations about an attacking triple up on one team, even if they are scoring goals for fun?
Is he now a better option than Mount?
Or is anyone unable to get him in because of the Tomori/Mount/Abraham pyramid.

      My own thoughts...

I'd love to bring him in, but as my last point suggests, the Tomori/Mount/Abraham means this is pretty much impossible - unless I moved Mount over. But this feels too sideways.

I think he is the best 6.0 option by far though. Grealish is also up there, but the fixtures are woeful.

If I was on the WC, I'd be extremely tempted to pocked my Mount cash and move on Hudson-Odoi... seems like an absolute gem of an option going forward.

Not very comfy with even a double up of CHE so keeping Tammy and moving on Mount soon. I have moved on to 3 Pool and and 8 from 8 different teams.

Punting Djenepo for Mount. He will be back GW11.

I got him in for Son last week and captained him, I think he is class and underpriced. Looked excellent again against New. I have Tammy too but no Mount. Will probably leave it there and avoid the triple up.

One of many good midfield options. Would get him in a heartbeat if on a WC. Wouldn't say he is essential to buy though if you have more pressing concerns, and wouldn't use a transfer to change Mount to him.

I already have Alonso, Tammy and Mount. If I only had 1 or 2 Chelsea I'd definitely be jumping on board, maybe even a midfield double-up. However unless there are injuries I'm wed to the three of them for this run of games.

Played WC in GW9 and broke up the pyramid by bringing CHO in for Tammy and upgrading(?) to Vardy due to their future fixtures.

With Lampard's commitment to youth, new 5 year contract - given due to fear of losing him abroad and accepted due to assurances over playing time - and him being in form and playing better than any potential rivals to his position, he was a steal at 5.9 and is set to be a - if not THE - mid-priced FPL breakout player

For me the question is if I go tripl up on Chelsea attack as I already own Mount and Abraham. All 3 are ridicolus under priced.
Those of you with the double up of Mount and Abraham what will you do?

I own both Mount and Abraham and am thinking of getting CHO in for McGinn who has terrible fixtures. The way I think about it is that the fact that I own Mount and Abraham has absolutely no relation to the points CHO is going to get, and therefore I ask myself to questions: 1) will CHO get more points then McGinn, and 2) will CHO get more points than other similarly priced alternatives? I'm leaning on answering yes to both!

Of course they might not, but in that case it could just as well be that Mount and/or Abraham weren't getting the points. In that case your mistake would have been to hold on to those, and, supposing this really would happen, it would be an absurd reason not to get CHO!

Question 4: Is CHO a regular starter? Genuine question as I don't follow Chelsea much.

I am looking at a MF replacement, and a 6m attacking midfielder in a top 4 side is a dream. Seems too good to be true, if i'm honest!
