Scoutcast discusses Raul Jimenez, Man City rotation and the ‘template’

After a chastening weekend of football, the Scoutcast is back to reflect on all the key talking points from Gameweek 9.

You can watch it from 20:00 to 21:00 BST on our YouTube channel, or embedded in the article below.

Joe is joined by Fantasy Football Scout deputy editor Neale and special guest Karam, who has appeared on a handful of our videos already this season.

Currently positioned at 144k in the world, Karam has just deployed his Wildcard and will be discussing the make-up of his revamped Fantasy Premier League squad.

The trio above will be looking at the form and fixtures of Raul Jimenez (£7.1m), Manchester City rotation and the so-called ‘FPL template’, among other things.

There is also a differential for Joe to put forward, clean sheets, the community’s questions and a look at the Scoutcast crew’s Gameweek 10 plans.

With no-shows and auto-subs being the order of the weekend, we can expect the usual mix of sob stories and tales of jam in Rough with the Smooth.

have already brought in Vardy for Haller, wondering what else to do for next week.

    A) stick with Pukki for another week
    B) Jiminez for Pukki, -4 hit
    C) Connolly for Pukki, -4 hit, 2.6ITB to upgrade McGinn or Cantwell

Neither option is worth a hit. Doubtful to be worth it without a hit.

I would like a hot topic please so enjoy this night time read. KDB‘s new role has been hindering him, but is it over already?

Guardiola at the start of the season stuck with his trusty inverted 433, KDB excelled in each and every game. Walker and Zinchenko would tuck inside and fill the the DM spots with Fernandinho/Rodri dropping back in between the CBs to form a 3223 in the attacking phase with Dilva and KDB pushing really close to the forwards so they could get involved in a variety of ways.

Since the CB injury crisis pep hasn’t been able to comfortably push so many players up the field and prefers to have one drop deeper, this was KDB as an extra number there doubling as someone to cut passing lines and offer a deep playmaking option, which is where he was deadly whipping crosses from deep on the right hand side.

This was all well and good with walker for protection but since the introduction of Cancelo there instead KDB has been pushed back even further by cancelo’s attacking runs. KDB’s single biggest opportunity for goal involvement is to hang deep on the right hand side to try and send the same cross every team has seen him pepper in every week. This made it very easy for palace to mark him out of the game which was annoying to watch.

Now the good bit is that they now have 2 fit CBs returning in Ota and Stones, tbis should mean Fernandinho can slot back into his role in midfield and give Kevin the licence to roam around like he used to before he could be marked out of games.

That’s what I saw anyway, happened today aswell. Hope pep sees the same thing and makes him the explosive captaincy option we began to know and love this season.

    Sleep well x

Yeah, logical thing to do for Pep is Fernandinho in for Rodri but he could just stick with Fernandinho at CB.

I do not think he trusts Ota and Stones as a CB pair.

Could do. In which case KDB would be back where he’s least effective for our teams

I think he was testing the Stones Ota CB partnership which is why he brought them on and put Ferna in midfield, because this is what he wants to do which is what inspired the post

I do have a feeling that Sterling gets rested this weekend.

Sterling has played with England twice, at the weekend and then midweek. Seems like a decent spot to have Bilva come in and lineup like they did in the Watford game.

    Ederson
    Cancelo Otamendi Stones Mendy
    KdB Fernandinho Dilva
    Mahrez Aguero Bilva

    That seems to make sense.

    1. Syd.

Also, that was exactly my thinking with the Watford game. He had played a bunch of internationals, came back and played in the league and then the champions league. Expected him to play in the PL with the League Cup mid-week for a rest but then he doesn't....

So this time you think the opposite to last time coz last time you were wrong, but possibly this time you are wrong again so maybe you should go against you first thought as that might be right or of course you could have been right in the first place

lol. But basically, this is exactly the Watford game all over again.

Last time he was benched. So I think it's reasonable to think it'll happen again.

It will all be fine....if aguero starts, then all is good.

If he does get a cameo, it could well be for the last 20 mins or so, which is plenty of time to get 10 or so points against a tiring Villa defence.

Otherwise just take Lundstrams 6 points off your bench, which he just texted me to say would be his minimum. Thank you.

If you aren't correct are you going to post "I failed to call it" and link it ?

No because I’m genuinely selling him tonight for David Silva to upgrade ceballos to Hudson Odoi.

Actually being serious about thinking he won’t play.

If I’m wrong I’ll suffer enough to not need too write a “failed to call it post”.

You can pretty much tell the posts made on here that have been bookmarked for people to link on game day if they’re right.

I’d hedge the same people say the opposite on a different day to cover both outcomes

Is this a thing? Seems like its not a real thing.
