FPL Question Time – Consult our panel ahead of Gameweek 12

Fantasy Premier League managers have one more Gameweek before the final international break of 2019.

With Manchester City and Liverpool meeting each other at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, large portions of the so-called template might cause some problems this week.

So we’ve put together another panel of managers to give you their input ahead of Gameweek 12…

WHO’S ON THE PANEL THIS WEEK?

FlapjackFPL: A Pukki pioneer who was the first to the party by captaining him in Gameweek 2, Flapjack has been having success in FPL for years. Four top 10k finishes in his last seven seasons is an impressive feat, and he could well be on to another this season.

How Now Brown Cow: A long-time FFS poster, HNBC boasts an impressive record that includes all top 100k finishes in the last six seasons, with the latest two in the top 5k. Patience has clearly paid off for this “no risk no hits” manager!

Darth_Krid: A past community tournament organiser, Krid has the FPL credentials to boot. Just before finishing 1,165th, he achieved his best finish of 805th in 2015/16 despite going completely Vardy-less during Leicester’s title triumph – but his current plan of repeating the trick is not quite going to plan!

Sterling rarely performs against his old club, especially away but the his could be the GW he does. Who knows!

Personally don't see the rush to get rid of Auba. He has some good fixtures coming up and has been very consistent - he's value.

If B gets you Vardy Auba Tammy up top then that's where I'd go.

Not seen Chelsea lately, what's up with Mount? Returns have dried up - should we be looking to move on, or upgrade to Pulisic?

      • 13 Years

He's actually been ticking over quite nicely for his price - nothing big but an assist here or there. Had a great chance for a goal against Watford.

You are happy to keep then? I'm happy with double CHE attack, but might switch to Pulisic if transfers free up after MCI

          • 13 Years

You must have a great squad if Mount is a priority transfer lol. I've only just got rid of Cantwell this week and still have Ceballos to move on next week. I've had Mount since GW3 with a SP of 6.5 so if he hauls after I sell, which is quite possible, it's a hefty loss to get him back. I suspect many are in the same boat here.

It's okay - had a good week but I'm just thinking beyond the next few seeing where I can improve. I'd probably prefer Martial, Pulisic and Maddison over Mount and one is coming in for CHO

Need advice with my WC team, mates
All the feedback is welcome 🙂

    Gazza
    TAA Chilwell Robbo
    Mane Mount KDB Maddy
    Abraham Jimenez Vardy

    Subs: Button, Lund, Rico, Hayden

    *0.2 ITB

Obviously it will be hard to bench players but... I guess its better than just saving money in the bank as there is no interest in the game 😀

I have almost the same squad on WC but considering Pulisic + Martial in for KDB + Hayden, given City’s fixtures for next 6-8 weeks. Gives a massive benching problem each week though!

Don't see the point of Chilwell ahead of Lund.

The lesson is that you play Lund each week. Chilwell is way to expensive to bench. I'd get ahead of the curve and get a Palace defender for 14 on. They've a really solid defence and great fixtures. Cahill or Ward over Chilwell are both bench able assets.

      Doubt Gazza,

So save money in the bank and get a Palace defender?

        Which Gk then you propose?

I dont like to start Lund and Henderson, who else is there in the cheap section?
        Maybe Patricio and Palace defender?

Let's be honest, you're not realistically going to get this forum agreeing with you when everyone and their dog is selling Aguero atm. He's arguably more likely to get 1 point than 10+ these days and isn't even a reliable 6 point floor any more, and fixtures are tough. For the price you'd be better off going for aubameyang even though people are selling him too, he's at least got amazing fixtures and is basically rotation proof

I've been thinking about City assets, and I've come to the realization that I only want KDB.
Everyone else is a slave to Pep Roulette bar Ederson.
Aguero hit by Jesus increasing minutes.
Mahrez doesnt seem the pick for the PL
    Bilva could get suspended
    Dilva injured.
Cancelo and Mendy subject to rotation with Angelino and Walker
Stones and Otamendi not guaranteed minutes with DMs capable of taking their place.
Sterling looking a little overpriced at the moment.

Like, it really is just KDB the only clear City asset, isn't he?

The wrinkle is subs. If there was no danger of Cancelo for instance getting one pointers then he's a decent pick on current budgets for a 0 pointer or a return with the likes of Rico stepping in.

With those fixtures and if they lose against Lpool, KDB is the only asset we need

Agree with this - based on current evidence. Pencilled in Sterling to mane after this week, subject to Salah's form.

Caveat being KDB's potentially deeper role which has been affecting his returns for a while now. For City's upcoming tougher fixtures I'm holding because he's cheaper and 'safer' but if he doesn't return then I'm open to switching back to Sterling who is always capable of a 20 pointer amongst his 1s and 2s

Takes a brave man to go for a Utd player that's not Martial atm. Greenwood has also been getting rave reviews for a long time.

Its a viable option but FH is such a valuable chip later in the season come the bigger blanks

Ive got three ways of getting Mane in, which looks the best?

    A) KDB, Tomori > Mane, £3.9m (weak defence but power 3 of Auba, Sterling, Mane)
    B) Auba, Dendonk > Connolly, Mane
    C) Sterling > Mane (no hit and £1.3m to do VVD - TAA and Yarmo - Tiele)

    Gazza, £4m
    VVD, Tomori, Lund, (Rico, Montoya)
    Sterling, KDB, Mount, Yarmo, (Dendonk)
    Auba, Vardy, Tammy

Yeah I'm tempted by B but Auba's fixtures look so nice after Leicester, think ill find it hard to drop him if he scores this week. Cheers for the input!

Will have a large wad of cash soon and looking to upgrade Lowton. Question is, to who?

    A)Chilwell/Pereira
    B)Doherty
    C)Robertson (already have TAA)

My current backline is TAA Lowton Guilbert Rico Lundstram

PvA could be interesting from 14 if you don't want the Pool double. Palace defensive fixtures are great and he's always got a goal in him. Id have him over Doh anyway.

That said Pereira is where I'd go.

Agree. Chilwell got the haul at St. Mary's, but Pereira still the stand out.

Slight concern over Cantwell as Hernandez back and bench is a bit thin, the rest is good

Thais my one problem area. With him losing value too. I will need to take a hit to move him out and think waiting it out for a week might be better.

Losing value with both Cantwell and Ota.. What about Otamendi yo Soyuncu??

Are there any viable Palace players? Only half decent options seem to be Zaha and Mili but at that price the Leicester options are far more exciting.

Yeah, price point makes their mid/fwd assets a little unviable.

          Ah beat me to it.

Cahill is an option. He scores goals historically and seems due.

Guaita is where I'm most likely to go thought from 14 on as it allows me Pereira.

Cahill was criticized by a few fans online. Think maybe Kelly gets his spot back?

Like Guaita, now there's a pick.

Reasonably sure I'll be getting Guaita in in 14 from Pope.

Cahill has been pretty mixed but he seems a Roy favourite. There's a good case for Kelly but I don't see it happening.

PVA is always a temptation, especially in a couple of weeks time.

I’m struggling to fit him into wildcard because of said Leicester players.

They are very solid at the back, plus he’s a legend

The options id consider depending on which fits your budget:
      Low - Soy/Tomori (that order)
      Mid - Chilwell
High - Doherty (been real unlucky not to be scoring very well)
