FPL Question Time – Consult our panel ahead of Gameweek 12

Fantasy Premier League managers have one more Gameweek before the final international break of 2019.

With Manchester City and Liverpool meeting each other at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, large portions of the so-called template might cause some problems this week.

So we’ve put together another panel of managers to give you their input ahead of Gameweek 12…

WHO’S ON THE PANEL THIS WEEK?

FlapjackFPL: A Pukki pioneer who was the first to the party by captaining him in Gameweek 2, Flapjack has been having success in FPL for years. Four top 10k finishes in his last seven seasons is an impressive feat, and he could well be on to another this season.

How Now Brown Cow: A long-time FFS poster, HNBC boasts an impressive record that includes all top 100k finishes in the last six seasons, with the latest two in the top 5k. Patience has clearly paid off for this “no risk no hits” manager!

Darth_Krid: A past community tournament organiser, Krid has the FPL credentials to boot. Just before finishing 1,165th, he achieved his best finish of 805th in 2015/16 despite going completely Vardy-less during Leicester’s title triumph – but his current plan of repeating the trick is not quite going to plan!

Ok, so unfortunately Aguero down 0,2 and thinking ill keep him cause i think he'll score against anyone. Chelsea, Arsenal etc. Whats your thoughts on selling/keeping City-assets ?

I'm keeping both Sterling and KDB. Already have Triple pool, am happy with my squad and there are no better options imo.

Keeping Aguero, D. Silva, and KdB.

He can't score if he doesn't start. I reluctantly lost him because having such a good player that you get tempted to captain is dangerous if he could be benched in any game. Do yourself a favour and let him go

      1. AuFeld
        • 7 Years

He's returned points two of the three times when he came off the bench.

Yer. But no baps usually from off the bench and higher potential for a 1 point cameo like the other week. Not what you wanna risk from a 12 mil captain. Not me anyway.

Would you say its wishful naive thinking to keep Aguero ? And bitterness over losing 0.2 value ?

    The better side 2.4 ITB
    Pope (Button)
    Lund TAA Soy Rico (Kelly)
    Mount Martial Sterling KDB McGinn
    Vardy Jimi Abraham

    or 1.2 ITB

    Henderson (Gazza)
    Lund TAA Soy Rico (Kelly)
    Martial Mane Sterling KDB McGinn
    Connoly Jimi Abraham

Pope, Button, Mount, Vardy (343... McGinn bench)
      vs
Hendo, Gazza, Mane, Connelly (352... Connolly bench)

feck that's hard... Pope, Mount & Vardy vs Hendo, Mane & McGinn is what the starting 11 comes down to

after all my writing & thinking... I can't pick one

      1. Eze Really?
        • 9 Years

        You did simplify it.
My choice on how to get Mane in really.
McGinn as an 8th forward is overkill and I can get goalkeeper cover.
Thanks for the hard work bud.

ya having McGinn on bench just doesnt look right.

If Mane is your aim that's def 1 route to it... I'm deliberating over if I should lose KDB or Sterling for him

Yep. I am looking to avoid KDB/Sterling move. Everyone says Vardy is essential. I have him for ownership, certainly not confidence.

        Currently have Auba Jimmy King
With midfield of Salah kdb Mount Tielemans McGinn
It’s been good for points and depth but slipped the past 2 weeks not owning Vardy and Mane

I own all this front three, mod-price strikers seem to be chipping in nicely with points this season, too good to ignore imho

      1. Planet_Marss

cheap mids doing the business too so not necessarily just mid price strikers.. argument for both

The way I see it: it’s easier to drop one of 4 playing mids if a new great option arises in midfield than to drop one of Vardy or Abraham in case we get new Pukki party

          1. Planet_Marss
            • 4 Years

love that thoughtprocess.. cant argue with that.
i considered it but then i decided i would rather ignore the strikers inform and just keep going through the inform mids instead..

                Definitely agree with this
Heavy hitters- sterling generally reliable but so far hit n miss. Kdb very as is mane/salah. Outside of that there’s nobody worth owning over 9.5m. It’s more choosing between 1,2 or 3 of these “anchors”

      2. Eze Really?

        So do I.

Vardy delivered in 6 out of 11 games. Jimi 5 from 11 and I can ignore the first 4 from Jimi.
I think Mousset is going to get a lot more gametime from now. If he gets 60 minutes he is a good shout.

Interesting shout, had no idea he’s been scoring lately
You’d want to have exit strategy so you could switch to one of the mid priced forwards in 2 moves
Just trying to work out best midfield for prolonged stretch without leaving too many points on the bench (team above)

Anyone know of a reliable Norwich journalist / twitter account re. early team news? FPL Badger is quite good I think...

Would be great if any team news came out before Friday's deadline which showed if Cantwell was starting or not.

Yeah. I think it has to be Lunds. He’s basically an attacking mid so your only playing with two defenders. Think Newcastle will score so Soy is first sub

Spurs attack also not been great recently and they have been conceding goals so good chance Lundy might get something from that game.

A'noon all. Which is the best team? Differences in caps. I prefer A:

    A - 352:
    Pope (Button)
    Robbo - Lundy - Chilwell - (Rico - JANMAT)
Sterling - KDB - Mane - Tielemans GREALISH
    Tammy - Vardy (Wickham)

    B - 442 (+1.2m) - Where to spend it?:
    Pope (Button)
    Robbo - Lundy - Chilwell - TOMORI - (Rico)
Sterling - KDB - Mane - Tielemans (DENDONKER)
    Tammy - Vardy (Wickham)

Want to move on VDV + Greenwood. Torn between going to Willems + Jiminez and Robertson + Mousset. The former pair currently feels more exciting and would leave me with 0.1, the latter would with 0.0.

    Any thoughts? Alternatives?

26 points from 5 subs over the last 3 weeks ... seems to be worth it (could have had another 7 last week if Willems had been ahead of Saka)

I'm playing Pereira and benching Willems and Rico ... think Willems is the most likely clean sheet out of the 3

Best Mid option for below 9.1m, only have to play 1gw as I'll use my WC next week. Who would be your choice? (Already own Mount)

My team is a disaster. Last 2 GWs i have taken two -4 hits bringing in Mendy, CHO, Jimenez and Connolly.
I got 1FT and thinking of holding that one until next week and then do this:
In some way bring in Martial, take out Mendy due to rotationrisk, take out CHO, and bring in one more liverpool asset.
Am i totally wrong here or what should i do?

    Pop
    Mendy Söyuncu, TAA, Tomori
    CHO, KDB, Sterling, Salah
    Abraham, Jimenez,

    (Button, Kelly, Connolly Nakamba)
