To be fair, I am only going on the blogs I have listened to where everyone is shouting from the rooftops about Tiel. I know one thing, Maddi over the last few years has flattered to deceive somewhat. Tiel has less games to establish patterns.

Maddison only made his premier l ague debut 14 months ago! Contrary to popular belief he hasn’t been around for years to flatter to deceive 🙂

            140 last year as a 6.5 & on track for a 200 point season as a 7.0

            Maddison 53 points 872 minutes
            Tielemans 51 points 981 minutes

I think he’s probably worth it on balance - set pieces are a huge advantage in FPL & Maddo is like old style Siggy in the way he monopolises them

Tielemans is a great pick too though

Maddy is the best #10 in the league by a mile. Created most chances in the league last season and hasn't showed any signs of slowing down to me...created 8 chances last GW...always willing to have a shot and looks a threat from everywhere. Brilliant, brilliant player. Especially for FPL purposes.

He’s developed a lovely habit of delivering FPL returns whatever the weather

Good GW stats? He still delivers
Bad GW stats? He still delivers
Easy fixture, 9-0 win? He still delivers
Tough fixture, narrow win? He still delivers

One of these points streams is his for example, the other is Sterling:

                - 5,6,2,1,10,0,2,7,8,9 (50)
                - 6,8,3,2,0,7,2,5,11,1 (45)

I should be careful with my wording. Maddi started the beginning of last year so "years" is misleading. I meant the sample test is bigger with Maddi than Tiel. Where i am coming from the way Maddi plays I would expect him to be around 75 points this year. with all hi set pieces, there seems to be a gap on what he should get as apposed to what he has.

I’m by no means a stats junkie, but they’re an interesting comparison in the members area

Maddison really comes out on top for XG, XA, XGI, Goal involvement, Goal attempts, Big chances (4 to 1!)

If Maddison had scored even half, or even just 1, let alone 3 or 4 - of his 4 big chances (he’s scored zero) things would be much more clear cut imo - but he surely can’t go on missing them at that rate?

TBH when the X word is used I start to nod off. My fault but over the period he has played in the PL he has done the same thing. Could be Vardy is not suited to Maddi style.

Hard to know - potentially harsh to assume a 22 year old in only his 14th month of premier league football has reached a level from which he will never improve

If anything his trajectory continues to be generally upward

It's probably more of a complement to him that folks are already starting to judge him by established/elite FPL attacker standards when in reality he only cost a paltry 7.0

5.8 to 7.5 mids are all the rage atm; and that high number is only because of Martial. There is a massive gap between 7.5 and the next viable value for money mid. Son is probably the only one, then you need to go to KDB. This in itself is creating movement to the forwards to get value.

Outside of the Mousets and Connollys forwards seems there are some bits and pieces at 6 but at least there are players in the 7 to 9.5 range worth getting.

This became apparent to me when I had 2.5 to upgrade Mount. There is nothing until you get to the 12mil plus. Richa, Siggy, Erik, Pogba are all dead at the moment.

The only route to use money is in defense. It seems TAA/Robbo are still being touted because the spare cash can be moved there. With Lund, Rico, Willems and Soy around it seems like over investing to me. It would be interesting to know if you would play a VVD, Digne and even the TAA's and Robbo's over the likes of Lund

Has anyone else thought the same and is stuck with cash they are not sure how to use effectively?

Right here. Did Mahrez->Djenepo for a hit, and now I have 5.2m ITB.
Not exactly sure what to do, maybe Guulbert->Doherty after IB? Other than that, seems like I'll be left with money I know f*** all what to do with.

Actually love that tfr. Ihave cash to get Vardy from Auba and Jimi from Firmino. The only way I can use the cash is to move Soy to Robbo which I don't really want to do.

After GW1 Pool double up, dont really feel doubling on Pool is the way to go. Burnt before.
My mids feel reasonable balanced, and forward line is shamefully template. Will chabge that in 2/3 GWs time.
Any targets in mind to upgrade Soy?
Also looking at Pereira at the moment.

Cannot think how to upgrade Soy without risk. I have Soy and got lucky IMO last week. Most of us are shocked he reached a 12 point ceiling. I just don't want to go down the Pool double defense route for the same reasons as you.

Reply fail. In any case I think the same and due to the fact that I like playing 3-4-3 with TAA and all the value Lundstram, Rico and Soyuncu are providing I can find a reason to invest in defense

      Having similar issues.
Team structure with Tammy Jimenez Vardy as strikers allows a lot of ££ to invest elsewhere. Taa + 4*cheap looks perfect so Robbo is a no option IMO.
That's why I'm looking for a simple Raz to Salah switch after gw 13 & go with something like:
      Pope Button
      Taa Soyuncu Rico Lundstram Lascells
      Salah Mane KDB 6.6m Donkey
      Vardy Tammy Jimenez

This is how it all started for me. Looking to upgrade Mount to Mane was a plan I gave up with. Ideally I want Mane Sterling and KDB but almost impossible to do with my team structure. Like everyone else it looks like Sterling to Mane and wait for the kick in the nuts.

Bit of a wasteland from 7.5-12.0

      7.5 & below you have:
      - Maddison, Mount, Pulisic, Perez, Youri, Willian, Martial, McGinn, Trossard, Barnes

      12.0+ you have:
      - Mané, Salah, Sterling

In between those two brackets you have:
      -....
      -..........
      - KDB? Maybe Son?

      https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/comment/21121647

Leciester, Chelsea, Lundstram & Rico have made budgets all but irrelevant over the opening 10-11 GW's of the season

Either the big hitters are about to violently and imminently strike back, or budgets are just going to be meaningless for another month or two

I ran into the issue this week with Ota - couldn’t bring myself to downgrade him to fodder & play Lundy every week, so went to Chilwell instead as the extra 1.5-ish just wasn’t buying me anything extra in my front 7:

          Pope
          TAA, Robbo, Chilwell
          Salah, KDB, Martial, Maddison, Mount
          Vardy, Tammy
          (Button, Lundy, Connolly, Rico)

So I’m still stuck with that maniac destroying me with 20 pointers from the bench unless I have injuries or suspensions 🙁

Exactly. But in the next 2 months the bench has to be deep. So it might not be such bad news. Lund is a must; just for the sake of not losing ground. Many FPL players have got lucky and he has come from the bench to reward. Now its time to make him 1st on the team sheet.

Just curious, you seem to be well informed about stats.

Why Martial when his injury record is quite bad. If you can convince me I may upgrade Perez to Martial.

His injury record is terrible for sure, and his body language and general demeanour aren't far behind either

But when he plays he invariably returns and he's about 1.5-2.0 & a full positional clarification OOP and totally nailed, and an extreme talent into the bargain so I'm a helpless moth to the martial flame once again

Stats wise check out Utd's record with & without him, his presence in the side can have a transformative effect

But he won't be to everyone's FPL tastes and is far from a sure thing

I'm finding this since I downgraded Sterling to Dendonk to enable me to get Vardy. I have 3.2itb now and not a whole lot of upgrading to do with it. I was going to get Trossard instead of Dendonk but that would have left me with a huge benching headache by having to drop one of my 8 attackers. Have enough of a benching headache with Lund, Rico, Soy etc as it is.

I'll certainly get rid of Otamendi next and probably leave enough itb to do KdB or Martial to Sterling or Salah if they start firing.

soon the bench will be needed with the fixture pile ups. Not so bad having 15 players. The other thing is, you may be able to bench boost without trying to manufacture a bench when so many rotate in DGW's. I know 2 of my rivals have upgraded keepers this week and going for BB. They are experienced players too.

If they do or not is another question.

          Think so.
Was on Auba but switched to the in form Vardy. Arsenal have looked awful. 1 SOT vs Vitoria, who are currently in 11th in the NOS league. Emery seemingly set on punishing anyone who show a glimmer of creativity.
Auba will score because of his individual class, but Vardy will easily oursocre him at a lower price. Arsenal cant keep playing "Pass to Aubameyang and Pray" football.

Any Spurs fans on here think Son is worth a punt with the upcoming fixtures?

Saw he was stuck on the left midweek but seemed to get more central second half.

Might risk it until Xmas without City assets to try and shoot up the rankings, could be suicidal but thinking about rolling the dice.

        Thoughts?

Not a Spurs fan but Son is the only Spurs player that I would consider bringing in. I wouldn't pick him over KDB, Sterling, Salah or Mané though if that's what the choice comes down to.

          Yep Son or KDB

I love KDB with his key passes and BOS potential but fixtures not ideal and without Rodri he does not have a free licence to attack like earlier in the season.

I think their tough fixtures against Shef Utd and West Ham (they seem to live to trouble Spurs) will give us a good opportunity to assess if Spurs have truly turned a corner with the increasing integration of Lo Celso, Sessegnon and Foyth.

The home fixture against Bournemouth is looking to be the perfect time to decide on whether or not to bring in Son and/or possibly other Spurs assets

The fun thing about my current backline since my WC 5 GWs ago is that two spots are always up for grabs.

        TaA Guilbert Lowton Rico Lundstram

Other than TAA, no pressure to push players in the XI because of price. Very fun. If I had someone like Digne over Lowton, I wouldve felt pressured to play himevery week, ignoring fixtures or team performance.

Will get Doherty soon, but it was fun while it lasted.

Nice differential, but you not happy with Mount? From what I've seen I'm very happy to hold him. Great value for money and seems nailed in that number 10 spot. Pulisic could still see some rotation with CHO. If anything I'm contemplating tripping up and dropping Maddison for Pulisic.

Mount has been great. But if Pulisic nails down the starting spot I think he will significantly outscore Mount. Could backfire for sure though if rotated.

If you're happy with the rest of your squad it is probably worth the punt. Easy to drop back to Mount if fails. Pulisic has looked great last few games.

Really tricky. I'm benching Soy and playing Lundstram but Arsenal are so weak defensively I think there is greater chance of Chilwell getting attacking returns then Lunds. I would probably play Chilwell but imagine if Lunds gets another goal and cleansheet...
