FanTeam

€50,000 in prizes on offer with FanTeam this weekend

There’s a monster of a deal being offered by FanTeam this weekend, with a massive €50,000 prize pot up for grabs.

The €50,000 Monster event is FanTeam‘s biggest daily Fantasy sports tournament.

This week it involves the four Premier League matches that kick off at 3pm GMT on Saturday, the early-evening game between Leicester and Arsenal, and the three that follow the next day.

Last weekend’s Monster event earned the winner €4,191,79 and FanTeam paid out to 517 spots in all, so there’s plenty of scope to make a cracking return on your outlay.

That’s just one of the reasons why the contest is full each week, so it’s wise to register as early as you can because there’s a 3,000-team entry limit.

And we’ve been offered the chance to hand out up to ten free tickets for the event to Fantasy Football Scout readers, so a lucky few could be in the money without actually having to spend it in the first place.

Simply email community@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk with your FanTeam user name for your chance to win.

The rules of the game are very similar to the ones we know and (mostly) love from Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

You have the standard 100m budget, but you only have to build an 11-man matchday squad out of that.

Player prices are game-specific, so won’t match those quoted for any season-long contest. As ever, you can only pick three stars from any one Premier League team.

FanTeam do take some of the stress out of selection, however, as they’ll replace any of your selections who don’t end up starting with a player from the same team, in the same position, and with equal or lower price.

You can also make changes to your team right up to the 3pm deadline, so you’ll be able to check the line-ups of four of the eight matches involved in this week’s Monster event.

Here are a few suggestions for your Monster line-up:

FORWARDS

Jamie Vardy, at 11.2m, is fairly pricey but still great value for the in-form Foxes against an Arsenal side that have kept only two clean sheets all season, and just the one away from home.

The Leicester City striker has been ruthless in recent weeks, with five goals in the last three matches and seven in five.

Aston Villa’s defence is just as leaky as Arsenal’s, and even worse on the road where they’ve not managed a single clean sheet.

That elevates the threat of Wolves’ frontman Raul Jimenez (10.5m), who has scored in two of his last three domestic starts and was on target in the Europa League last night.

The Mexican has also been confirmed as the side’s penalty-taker for the Villa match, making him an even more attractive pick.

MIDFIELDERS

Sunday’s top-of-the-table clash between Liverpool and Manchester City is the game of the weekend and Sadio Mane has been priced at a very competitive 9.4m for the fixture.

The match has been a low-scoring affair in recent times, but Mane is bang in form – two goals and three assists in his last four starts – and City’s defence has been inconsistent of late, with influential goalkeeper Ederson (6.0m) an injury doubt that won’t help them with their solidity issues.

Everton’s Richarlison (8.8m), meanwhile, has been unlucky not find the back of the net as he continues to operate as a striker in Marco Silva’s side.

He’s had ten attempts over the last four games – a top ten figure among midfielders – and has at least offset the lack of goals with a couple of assists.

A trip to Southampton on Saturday looks like a prime opportunity for the Brazilian to rediscover his goalscoring touch.

DEFENDERS

Newcastle United are in a good place at the moment, with two wins and a draw from their last four fixtures.

Jetro Willems (5.5m) offers a budget way into a defence that’s finding its feet and will be hopeful of blunting a visiting Bournemouth attack that has blanked away from home for two straight road trips.

He also offers an attacking threat, as shown by the two assists he’s provided in their recent decent run.

Manchester United will also be confident of shutting out their visitors on Sunday.

Brighton have scored just once in their last four away days, making Marcos Rojo (6.2m) another cut-price tempter.

He’s the cheapest way into that United backline and injuries and suspensions make his inclusion in the starting line-up more likely.

Guys, your help needed for GW13 and will wait on the IB...…..

    A) Lowton & Hanley out for TAA and Robertson ( what I had planned to do )
    Or.
    B) Hanley, DSilva / Mount out for TAA and Son ( have KDB and Mane )

OK, may as well keep Mount and sell CHO, risky of course.
Who do we prefer, Martial or Son? Have Vardy so will punt and sidestep Maddison I think.

I would. Lundy coming off the back of a big haul and I fancy SHU to get something from the game this weekend. Cantwell has competition from Hernandez and is absolute fodder, and that's coming from a Norwich fan!

True that, getting Vardy seems so boring...

I kept Auba. Ars are crap but have great fixtures. Have Madds, if I could I would have Auba&Party up front.

    Which two to bench?

Clean sheet odds but what about potential attacking returns??

    Tomori (45%)
    Rico (27%)
    Soyuncu (25%)
    TAA (23%)
    Lundstram (17%)

    So difficult??
