FFS Cup

2019/20 FFS Cups are now open for entry

Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce the dates of our Fantasy Premier League cup competitions for the 2019/20 campaign.

We are launching our latest open-to-all tournament, along with a tenth competition for Members only. Both tournaments have £300 in prizes on offer.

Sign-up for the open tournament can be found here.

Members can sign up to both tournaments, via entry forms here and here.

The roll call of former cup winners looks like this: donnellyc, Jonty, Gribude, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05 , CMIFLFC, Mark, Leon Harris, A Manager Has No Name, Sleepysi, TH14, 2EyedTurk, Man-Chest-Heir and reigning champion LOKOMOTIV.

As former winners, those listed will gain a bye to the first round of the tournament should they enter with the same username.

In our Members Cup, our list of winners is as follows: Waltzingmatildas, Fuzzy Dunlop, Kippax Kickers Acquafresca, Trigg Ola Svanheld, Malaikat Jahad, rrcmc and the current champion Jay #.

Again, those listed above will gain a bye to the first round proper of the Members Cup should they enter with the username listed.

If you’re new to our cup competitions, read on for an FAQ, offering all the details.

How do the Cup Competitions Work?

The FFS Cup is very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s own Fantasy Cup game.

Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores).

In the event of a tie, the manager highest in the overall FPL rankings after the tie will progress.

When do they start?

The qualifying round for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup will take place in Gameweek 13, with the first round proper running in Gameweek 14.

Fantasy managers can enter their teams from now right up to 10:30am on Monday November 25, when we’ll stop entries and make the first round draws shortly after.

The qualifying round for the Members Cup will take place week later in Gameweek 14, with the first round running in Gameweek 16.

Fantasy managers can enter their teams from now right up to 10.30am on Monday December 2, when we’ll stop entries and make the first round draws shortly after.

Previous winners must enter with the same usernames listed above to gain their bye.

Entrants must have registered their teams in Fantasy Premier League ahead of Gameweek 1.

How do I enter?

Enter the open-to-all FFS Cup via the entry form here.

Enter the FFS Members Cup via the entry form here. This form is only visible to Members and you will need to log into the Members’ area to view the form.

You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry and you’ll be asked to confirm your FPL team ID at the point of entry – you may need to remove an erroneous ‘a’ from the link before clicking to verify your team ID. If your FPL team is incorrectly entered, we cannot amend this at a later date.

Your entry is only completed once you have confirmed your FPL team ID as part of the process.

To check that you’re entered correctly, please scan the list of entries.

The open-to-all FFS Cup list is here.

The Members FFS Cup list is here.

How do I find my FPL team ID?

Your FPL ID is your unique ID for your FPL team. This is found via your Gameweek History page – the link to which is found in the right-hand menu under your FPL team strip. When you visit your Gameweek History you will see a number in the URL (as opposed to the XXX below).

https://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/XXX/history

Place this 1-7 digit number, or your Gameweek History URL, in the FPL ID field on the entry form.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the Fantasy Football Scout Cup qualifying round will be published shortly after November 25 and then weekly, after the completion of each Gameweek, from that point on.

Results from the Members Cup qualifying round will be published shortly after December 2 and then weekly, after the completion of each Gameweek, from that point on.

Do I have to enter if I’m a previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed so we will need to record your entry again. As a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a Fantasy Football Scout username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament.

Ideally, you will already have a username with us, but this is not essential to enter.

You must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles.

You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament. Should you do so without permission, should you enter multiple teams, or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from a tournament at any stage.

Thought GW13 was supposed to ring the changes. Seems a pretty obvious template has been formed very quickly.

      No template at all, IMO.

      - Budget defenders, Leicester defenders, double Liverpool defence all being considered.
      - Mount, Pulisic, Maddison, Tielemans, Martial are all strong mid-priced midfielders.
      - Keep 1, 2 or neither of KDB/Sterling etc? Get 1 or 2 of Mane or Salah?
      - Play 3-5-2 with Abraham and Vardy, or 3-4-3 with (for example) Abraham, Vardy and Jiminez.

      Lots of different options atm.

Dble Pool defence + 3 @4.5 or less

Mane, KDB, + 2 of those 6-7mil mids + bench fodder.

Up front the three you name above.

          Lacazatte
          Firmino
          Ings
          Rashford
          Salah + Mane

          All options. Take your pick.

      Probably Dendoncker now.

    Pope
    TAA - Lundy - Soyuncu
    Mane - Sterling - KDB - Mount
    Vardy - Abraham - Connolly

    (4.0 Cantwell Rico Tomori)
    1ft & 1.6m

    A) KDB & Connolly ➡️ Maddison & Jimenez
    B) KDB & Connolly ➡️ Martial & Jimenez
    C) KDB & Cantwell ➡️ Maddison & Martial

Only option A leaves me with enough money to do Mount to Pulisic in GW14 which is a move I'm very keen on making.

Leaving the option of triple Pool for later Salah & Robbo ankle issues are a worry ahead of such a packed schedule.

    Thoughts?

Not sure about that mate. Having invested in too many premiums is making my team weaker.

There's alot of opportunity in the mid price options now like Maddison, Martial, Jimenez, Pulisic, Tielemans etc.

Nice to own two of them rather than owning one underperforming premium option.

I wonder why Willian is never mentioned when discussing mid priced mids? 7ppg in the last 6 with 2 double digit hauls, at 7.1 being cheaper than Maddison and Martial.

      Rotation risk imo:

Willian, Pulsic (looks nailed), CHO, Pedro

Plus Mount could be pushed to the left again leaving less spots when they have all their CMs back (Kante, Kovacic, Jorginho, RLC, Barkley)

I don't know how it works, but I'm confident it stores the FPL ID you enter and then displays the link with the ID added, rather than storing just the link.

If your username is on the list, that's good enough for now.

Once the link gets updated, you'll be able to double check the ID you put in was correct, but I suspect most people would have put it in correctly anyways.

If there's any issues with people having the wrong ID down and didn't notice due to this bug, I'll make sure it gets fixed for them.

    Thoughts on City vs Che.

I have a feeling Chelsea will give Pep a run for his money.

Lampard is not going to as his team to defend, that is for sure!

City start strong, Chels fight back, City kill em off. 4-2

Not with City defence. If CHE go all out from the start, which they are very capable of then City might have some massive issues.

Sheep need shearing - they'd cook in summer.

Do you know how merino’s are sheered?
They have been bred to have extra folds of flesh to produce extra wool. These are cut off in the sheering process causing them to be in a painful, bloody mess.
Also it’s not like a nice easy haircut, it is very common for the sheep to be beaten if they cause any minor inconvenience for those taking their wool. It’s not nice

Nothing is wrong with cotton if it is produced properly with a thought at the nature and the people involved in the production - but the human behavior and greediness is often too crazy

Agreed, cotton production is not inherently cruel it’s just the people who exploit their workers who are. See below for why wool is.

my daughter's bloke is a sheep farmer. I've seen the kindness and attention to his sheeps' welfare that he gives. Of course you can always find people who abuse their animals, but they are few and far between. And I say that as someone who hasn't eaten lamb for over 35 years.

Small farms tend to pride themselves in welfare standards but to only show that compassion because it returns a profit isn’t so convincing to me. Compassion goes out the window of course if he then sends his sheep to death after giving what he wants.
Animals aren’t there for us to use, I’d rather see people like him showing that compassion to sheep at a sanctuary. No need to exploit them for their bodies. What is it about lamb, dogs and cats that stops you from eating them?

Mate, I’m no vegan but that video makes me sick. Couldn’t watch it all, maybe time for me to think.
Guess I’m an odd bloke as I love animals but eat and wear them.
How long have you been a vegan?

It hurt me to get the link but I’m glad it’s had an effect on you.
I was just the same as you man, the more I saw the more concerned I got. Going vegan 3 years ago now was the most liberating feeling ever. It’s so hard to make the connection between animal abuse and animal consumption, I really don’t blame you for it. What is admirable is wanting to learn more so thanks for taking the time to watch.
It’s been a really easy transition as there’s valid swaps for everything you love now

Yeah I went vegan for 6 months 2 years ago. Best I’ve ever felt and lost 13kgs in fat. Not much excuse really as I’m a good cook. Never looked to replace meat or cheese with alternative products just used good healthy ingredients. Toughest thing is when you’re out and about.
Thing with global warming and veganism is that the info has been out for decades but it’s only really gathering pace now as it’s a bit more cool.

Nice one man I like to call myself a good cook too 🙂 worked at a vegan food stall for a while, it’s amazing to see how happy people are to see you there for them. It’s growing so much and it’s so wonderful to be part of a lovely group of people.
It’s undeniably the healthiest, lowest impact diet available. So many reasons to do it. What made you stop mate?

I don’t know really. Was happy with my weight and then it just crept back in. It was health reasons to be honest and now I’m very unhealthy again.

Of course as I say there is no fixed agenda to allow someone to be vegan, people do it for their own reasons. All the other reasons and benefits come along and reinforce your decision and make you happier about it.
Saw you ask about it the other day so I’m glad it’s back on your radar mate. Will be here to help with anything you need x

I had Aurier and thought of getting him but if he is not subbed with 5 minutes to go then cleanie gone.

I will just keep clear of Spurs assets. Tempted by Son but means I have to cut out of my team so just going without.
