Scoutcast crew tackles how to plan for gruelling winter period

The Scoutcast returns tonight in the build-up to Gameweek 13, starting at 20:00 GMT on our YouTube channel.

As the international draws to a close we are looking ahead to the next round of action as well as the upcoming winter schedule.

Between now and the end of the calendar there will be eight Gameweeks so it’s important to get our planning just right.

In episode 308, Joe will be joined by Tom Freeman and Holly Shand.

Between the three of them, they boast a total of 17 finishes inside the top 10k, so we’re expecting some excellent insight.

As well as discussing the frantic festive period, Mason Mount (£6.8m) comes under scrutiny in light of Christian Pulisic’s (£7.4m) recent form and the mid-price Leicester options.

Meanwhile, many Fantasy managers are contemplating how to invest in Liverpool over the coming weeks with the age-old debate about double-defence or double-attack the focus of discussion tonight.

Kane time - even more than Son. Whoever the replacement is will start with moving Kane from DM to CF.

I for one was looking to ship Son for someone cheaper, but I may reconsider. That squad doesn't want for talent. There were clearly morale and motivation issues that new manager bounce might resolve rather nicely.

Same. I'm usually slow on the sacked-manager-bounce effect and to already have Son may prove to pay dividends.

25 points from their last 24 league matches. That's relegation form, so he had to go. The rot started well before last season even ended.

If I were spurs: Mourinho until end of the season then Pep goes Juve, spurs get sarri.
      Son Kane Lucas
      Erik/Alli/Celso Winks Ndombele
      Rose/Sess Vert Sanchez Foyth
      Lloris

That’s better than his Chelsea team

LMAO if you think Mourinho is going to accept a job till the end of the season.

Or if youre suggesting they appoint him on a 3+ year contract and then sack him at end of the season, not sure thats going to be cheap either.

I think it's time for Kane. Kane was outstanding as a striker a few seasons ago. Then he suddenly was given a new role, supporting attacks dropping deeper.

It's as if poch made a decision he couldn't play as striker anymore and was preparing him as a number ten. Maybe 3-4 years too early for that to happen

He has proven for England, when he plays as an out and out striker there are few better

As per my comment earlier this week - https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2019/11/17/which-fpl-assets-are-most-involved-at-set-piece-situations/?hc_page=6&hc_sort_by=comment_date#hc_comment_21180513

      Complete crap by Spurs. Shambles.
Their best manager in years, took them to a CL final just a few months back. Sure he's won f*** all, but come on. Who are they bringing in? Puel? Allardyce?
State of it. Poch deserves better, he really does. Loved him at Saints, turned us into top half team. Wish him welll wherever he goes.

You say this yet if they didn't sack Poch then he would've ended up having Spurs relegated by next season at this rate. He hasn't just been bad, he's been terrible and the CL Final is the only reason why he's lasted as long as he did this season

Crazy decision for the long term IMO.

Is there anyone available who can do a better job than Poch?

Spurs players will probably 'do a Vardy' now and show a massive improvement in form.

Sadly, in the cold light of day, 25 points from 24 games is terrible.

Amazing (and lucky) run to CL final papered over cracks.

It's been a great few years, but I said at the end of last season how often a team takes end of season form into the next.

Whether he could have built a new team given time or the constraints he was working under were too much we'll never know.

The moment Spurs play a decent game there will be bandwagons.
Son has done well in FPL with Spurs seemingly in turmoil, so what will happen if the players lift their heads and start playing for each other as we've seen them do before.

Andy Robertson - to bring in or not?

His ankle injury, doesn’t seem that serious, if he misses a game it appears to be at the expense of the league cup or CL:

‘ "For the last two and a half weeks I’ve not trained at all for Liverpool . I’ve trained the day before a game, missed a Champions League game other than the last 15 minutes against Genk and missed Arsenal in the League Cup.”

The question is, if his ankle hasn’t settled, will he start to miss games over the busy Xmas period?

Get him for the next 5 games and ditch him for 18gw.

Now they play against the worse attacking teams in the league and they kept cs against all of them last year.

It could work sure but Jose hasn't been special for a while now and he's not got a good record with bringing youth through which is something Levy loves as it means he saves money. I don't see how he can better Poch unless Levy throws a couple of hundred mil into the club which I can't see

Don't get the hype with him at all. Always found spurs painful to watch. Made a lot of bad signings.

And what? Beat Liverpool, City et al whilst having incredible wage restrictions.
      He did a great job.

Agreed, finishing in the top 4 consistently without having the wage/transfer budget of their rivals is an impressive achievement.

But they had higher wages than everyone outside the top 6? So effectively they did ok in the top 6.

wenger was criticised heavily for making top 4 consistently even with the debt of the stadium meant selling his best players.

I hope the media provide a similar critical opinion of poch. I mean wenger actually went on and won things

Spurs couldn't wait around for the Hammers to strike a final blow in Poch's reign so decided to act a week early.

Talk of Brendan Rodgers, not sure if he would want to leave. Also Eddie Howe mentioned

Mourinho name being spoken the most though

Mourinho would be like ice cold water into boiling oil.

Just not going to work for them.

I am happy Rafa is no longer at LFC but seems he has put asside some of his stubborness aside so reckon he could be a good option.

As a Son owner, i don't know what to think about the Poch news. Hope for a new manager bounce or will things get even worse for spurs?

Don't see how it instantly just gets better
It’s not like Poch was out there on the pitch making them worse
Will take some time and also could be some key players leaving in January

So by the timing of the sacking Spurs should have a new manager in place by GW15....meaning first game will be away to Man Utd

West Ham is terrible so very unlikely but Spurs will be back to being a mid-table team so in the long term the two teams should be quite close to each other in quality.

United are a mid table side
Spurs have FAR better players. Top 4 still achievable Imo

Poch, however, will have no trouble finding a better club.

Tempting to try to get ahead of the game by hopping on Son/Kane/ even Moura picks - but probably smart to wait a bit.

For one, Can't decide who I'd take out - though I can do Mount to Son....

Spurs could implode just as easy.

I think Poch got the best out of most of those lads and they liked him.I reckon if some mercenary like Jose comes in they would have no respect for him what so ever.
