Grealish and Heaton fit to start in final match of Gameweek 13

Aston Villa take on Newcastle United at Villa Park this evening. Kick-off in the very last match of Gameweek 13 is at 20:00 GMT.

The Magpies are unbeaten in their last three fixtures and a win for Steve Bruce’s side would lift them above Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur into ninth.

Villa, on a three-game losing streak after a tricky run of matches, will be hoping to pull four points clear of the drop zone with victory tonight.

From a Fantasy perspective, the headline news sees the return of Tom Heaton (£4.5m) and Jack Grealish (£5.9m) from calf injuries.

Heaton missed out in Gameweek 12 and subsequently pulled out of the England squad, while Grealish hasn’t started a league game in a month.

Bjorn Engels (£4.5m) hasn’t recovered, however, so Ezri Konsa (£4.3m) starts again at centre-half.

Trezeguet (£5.2m) drops to the bench to make way for Grealish, while Conor Hourihane (£5.7m) replaces Marvelous Nakamba (£4.4m) in central midfield.

John McGinn (£5.9m), the only Fantasy Premier League asset who sits in more than 10% of squads, maintains his ever-present record.

Bruce’s only alteration from Gameweek 12 is an enforced one, with captain Jamaal Lascelles (£4.4m), who picked up a knee injury against Bournemouth, replaced by Paul Dummett (£4.4m).

Newcastle defenders have scored seven of their last nine league goals.

Not a single United player can boast a double-digit ownership, with bench fodder option Isaac Hayden (£4.4m) their most-owned player in FPL.

Aston Villa XI: Heaton; Guilbert, Konsa, Mings, Targett; McGinn, Douglas Luiz, Hourihane; El Ghazi, Wesley, Grealish.

Newcastle United XI: Dubravka; Fernández, Clark, Dummett; Yedlin, Hayden, Shelvey, Willems; Almirón, Saint-Maximin; Joelinton.

Defenders are not safe options. Rico 0 pt this week for example. And even Sir Lundstram only 3 pts with assist.

He was on the bench though!

Hopefully he’ll snatch a late cheeky assist

Newcastle are playing well. It's just the 1970s Brazil like play of Villa making them look poor.

Would take off Almiron and bring on Longstaff if I were in charge of Newcastle.

Then push Saint-Maximin higher up the pitch and let him stay there for the counter-attacks. Longstaff can cover for him defensively.

LOL. Watching the game and Saint-Maximin (Newcastle's most explosive player) is picking up the ball in his own defensive third. He is not going to do any damage from there.

Then you have Almiron who has played 22 times for Newcastle in the PL and has still got to score or get an assist.

I think it’s A or D but if you don’t do D now then it’s no point until week 18.

If you go A then I’d suggest Ota -> Lund. Next week could Consider Sterling & Greenwood -> Vardy & Best midfielder you can afford

          Dragon basically named the moves:

          a) Ota->Lund
          or
          b) Sterling/Greenwood->Vardy/Willian

but B leaves me starting either Rico (tot) or Willems (MCI) which brings me to C which leads me to D

It’s just the way international football operates. I also doubt Grealish would get into any of the top teams current starting 11’s

Anyone else still have their wild cards?
Struggling with decision whether to play it this GW or wait until GW19. Playing it this GW would mean getting Robbo to triple up on Liverpool, and removing some deadwood like Guendozi and Lowton. But waiting until GW19 provides the opportunity to set up nicely for Cristmas, most likely getting a Palace defender and some nailed mid priced assets like e.g. McGinn.
    Thoughts?

If your team is in good shape, might as well wait yes. Personally I see a few changes that should pay off up to GW18 (Liverpool blank). But otoh there's alue in itself playing it GW19. Saving 2FT's for GW18 could gain a slight advantage.

GW19 a good timing to shift Jimnez and reduce number of Chelsea players. No really significant fixture shifts, but Leicester green run seems to come to an end, and City will have OK fixtures

I decided to hit WC as want do go ahead of others with double SHU defence, few Spurs also didnt have Mane and wanted Jimenez plus maybe Pulisic.
All that with few players in my team with harder fix now made me think its the time so you must feel by yourself is it time for you.

Already did Sterling to Son, and I'd do Mount to Pulisic and also get Robbo in. But fixtures are good for all my players this GW, so WC'ing this week might be sideways.

Surely play Tomori this week over Lund?

Anyway... how about kdb to son. Perhaps even captain son

No chance I'd bench Lund this GW.

Thanks. Haven't decided on first sub yet. Like Son though prefer to keep KDB due to ownership.

Mount to Pulisic or Martial maybe?

You could also downgrade Gazza to 4.0 gk and upgrade Maddison to Son, if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks. Have been contemplating Martial last two weeks so think that ship has sailed. Pulsic an option. Prefer Son, unfortunately 0.3 short with that move.
