Mount back in the Chelsea starting XI as Willian drops to the bench

Four Premier League matches kick off at 3pm GMT this afternoon, with league leaders Liverpool among the teams in action.

Following Manchester City’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle United in the lunchtime game, the Reds can extend the gap between themselves and Pep Guardiola’s side to 11 points with a victory over Brighton and Hove Albion.

Jurgen Klopp hasn’t taken any chances with his starting XI, naming about as a strong a team as possible for the visit of Graham Potter’s side.

Fabinho is both suspended and injured for this encounter, with the Brazilian’s place taken by Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian’s return sees Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain move back into the centre of midfield.

There are no real shocks elsewhere, with Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson and Virgil van Dijk all making Klopp’s starting XI.

Potter has made four changes to the Seagulls’ team, recalling Lewis Dunk (back from suspension), Yves Bissouma, Pascal Gross and the fit-again Aaron Connolly.

Shane Duffy, Solly March, Leandro Trossard and, perhaps most surprisingly, Neal Maupay drop out.

Mason Mount returns to the Chelsea starting XI for the visit of West Ham United, meanwhile.

Pedro and Olivier Giroud also come into the side, with Willian and the injured Tammy Abraham the men to make way.

Roberto has finally paid the price for his iffy displays and has been replaced by David Martin for the visitors, with Fabian Balbuena in for the suspended Issa Diop.

Michail Antonio looks to be leading the line, with Sebastien Haller benched.

Lucas Moura has been dropped by Jose Mourinho for Spurs’ match against Bournemouth.

Tanguy Ndombele, Moussa Sissoko and Jan Vertonghen come into the team, with Danny Rose and Harry Winks making way.

Eddie Howe makes four changes from the side that lost to Wolves.

Simon Francis and Philip Billing are both suspended, while Harry Wilson and Adam Smith drop out. Dominic Solanke, Jefferson Lerma, Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld and Jack Stacey all start.

Burnley are forced into one alteration from the side that beat Watford.

Robbie Brady comes into midfield for the suspended Ashley Westwood.

Roy Hodgson’s changes are both enforced.

Joel Ward and Gary Cahill are both out with knee injuries, so Martin Kelly and Scott Dann step in.

Burnley XI: Pope; Bardsley, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor; Brady, Cork, Hendrick, McNeil, Wood, Barnes.

Crystal Palace XI: Guaita; Kelly, Dann, Tomkins, van Aanholt; Townsend, Milivojevic, Kouyate, McArthur, Zaha; Ayew.

Chelsea XI: Arrizabalaga; James, Zouma, Tomori, Emerson; Kovacic, Jorginho, Mount; Pedro, Giroud, Pulisic.

West Ham XI: Martin; Fredericks, Balbuena, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Noble, Rice; Fornals, Snodgrass, Anderson; Antonio.

Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Lovren, Robertson; Wijnaldum, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Mane, Salah, Firmino.

Brighton XI: Ryan; Montoya, Webster, Dunk, Burn; Bissouma, Stephens, Propper; Gross, Connolly, Mooy.

Spurs XI: Gazzaniga; Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen; Dier, Ndombele; Sissoko, Dele, Son; Kane.

Bournemouth XI: Ramsdale; Stacey, S. Cook, Ake, Rico; Fraser, Lerma, L. Cook, Groeneveld; Solanke, C. Wilson.

Can see me getting Kane straight back out in a week or 2 to make way for Son (who I was all set to bring in before Tammy got crocked).

The goalkeeper wasn't the reason Chelsea's cross success rate was about 3%.

I’d imagine the goalkeeper played a bigger part than the cross success rate

From watching the entire game there were no saves an average youth keeper couldn't make. I'm sure he did better than what Roberto would have contributed but it was nothing short of painful watching every attack end with a simple defensive clearance. James is the only player who could put a good ball in and there was never a blue shirt on the end of it.

Any idea why Alonso is not playing? His attacking threat and crossing is another level compared to Emerson.

                a) He can't defend to save his life.
                b) You've never watched him play if you think he can cross. He almost never gets past the first man, except last time he played where he literally hit a cross so deep and wide it went back into his own half.

Such an attacking fullbacks are defensive liabilities quite often, even TAA isn't any different. I guess you win some, you lose some.

In my opinion he's better player overall and, what's even more important, getting goals and assists.

                  Oh well, Frank knows better.

TAA is different because he's so young, but yes of course anyone going so far forward so often is a liability. I promise you, watching every game Alonso is woeful overall. I'm not a massive Emerson fan either though.

          That's not great advice mate.

Everyone on here advised me against going Vardy (C) for his recent 20-pointer.

Glad I didn't listen to commenters, or the poll.

Mane had chances but Ryan was really good apparently

Having Mane captain and no City is a bad start. Tomorrow hopefully things go better and hoping for Vardy blank.

So Martial to Ali or Mount to Pulisic?

        Maybe both? Have Son already?

Pope garbage for both goals. Could be dropped, typical Dyche to give Heaton a chance.

      Pope -> Guaita obvious

Guess I should keep Salah for the next 3 but also have Mané.

Itching to get rid of him and Cantwell and bring in Alli and Son.

      Should I hold tight?

I’d shift for one of Son or Alli

Would ditch if for free. Would maybe not get double Spurs though. Some tough games coming up

Going to wait for SHU game tomorrow, but that's what I've been planning for weeks. Should be safe run until GW31 blank

thinking of guaita instead as not a fan of doubling up on defence

I have Kelly and Lundstram, so doubling up either way.
