Me neither. If a GK gets quite a lot of saves against a top team it's really good for the bonus points. Ryan got 7 when Brighton lost 3-1 to Man Utd.

    Mousset Tammy Vardy(C)

Thanks. Zaha looks a nice pick, could afford Alli too but might not be a good time and leaves no funds to go 343/352 eventually. If Mount starts this week can see him doing OK. That is my only concern.

Who knows. Traditionally, Mourinho away to a "top" side is a bore draw.
But this Spurs side doesn't appear to have a bus to park, and given the state United are in, Renaissance Mourinho may well go for it. And then add in the inconsistency of United, and the way they've turned up for bigger games this year

quite a few people -including some respected journalists- saying that was a foul on Chilwell even though there was NO contact....the logic being because he expected a foul and jumped out the way its still a foul. it really is one for the philosophers. its basically saying something that didnt happen happened because you acted as though it did??

    1. claretparrot
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

If Chilwell genuinely thinks he's going to be clipped, he'd needs to be smart enough to take the contact. It wasn't a dangerous situation so it would be difficult to claim 'evasive action'

      Nonsense, no pen

    3. Hotdogs for Tea

actually reckless play can take place without contact, many a red card issued for a two footed lunge that never made contact ... all to do with intent

Pretty sure a right hook swinging haymaker, avoided by ducking out of the way, would be a penalised too, as an example of the about

didn’t see the Chilwell incident though

      1. boc610
        • 12 Years
        4 years, 3 months ago

absolutely get that if its someone lunging studs up towards your knee in a manner that could have seriously injured you but this was not that. everton player had a heavy touch when he had the ball and Chilwell knew that but instead of going right 'il try knick the ball here' he decided instead to go right he's going to foul me and im going to get a pen and in then end all he did was anticipate contact that never actually took place.

        1. Hotdogs for Tea
          • 8 Years

i think if you can avoid a tackle, which is also going to miss the ball, then it is not a foul ... lots of players hurdle a sliding tackle if it suits them, but many will take the contact in the penalty area.

At the same time I don’t think a player is obliged to avoid contact, can take the ‘foul’ and get the free kick or penalty.

me too, had a decent bench generally and not needed to take a hit for injury, plus planned transfers ahead based upon fixtures and form.

Also gone early on transfers at times and not worried about picking up an injury in the midweek games, again due to a playing bench

hard to evaluate though, but happy with it so far

Jwp returns are more erratic I think and Grealish is a keeper once Chelsea are out of the way. Could do well Vs Leicester at home and after that great fixtures. Jwp more erratic and harder to predict where his returns will come imo

Soy vs WAT on the bench is luxury. Save imo.

I'm making the Pope > Hendo move after pressers, but have 2 FT. Think I'd still do it in your shoes

5.2, 0.1% owned, involved in 50% of sotons goals when playing, could be a crazy differential

Hopefully Lampard realises Abraham is not fit to start against Villa. Play Batshuayi up front with Pulisic and Willian either side.

CHO can play then. But either way. Just don't start Abraham.
