FPL Gameweek 14 review: what we learned from the weekend’s matches

Almost exactly 48 hours separate the completion of Gameweek 14 with the deadline for Gameweek 15, so the quick turnaround means we are unable to bring you individual Scout Notes on all ten Premier League matches that took place this weekend.

You can read about how Liverpool and Manchester City assets got on in their respective fixtures on Saturday by clicking the links below, however.

MATCH REPORT: Liverpool 2-1 Brighton and Hove Albion
MATCH REPORT: Newcastle United 2-2 Manchester City

For the other eight matches, we have produced this cover-all article that addresses some of the main talking points from the Gameweek just gone and delves into the stand-out stats from our Members Area.

Is having both son and alli a viable strategy or is it too much spurs

      It's not a bad option.

I'd wait after the utd game though- contemplating those moves myself since Spurs attack look hot atm under Jose

I'm on it, it's a punt but Morinho seems to want to show he can set out attacking teams

I though about it too but the difficulty is culling players to make way. Lots of prospects in this section including Zaha, Grealish and Cantwell (though lower end of budget)

    2FTs. 1.1ITB

    A) Pope to Hendo
    B) Greenwood to Mousset (who to bench tho?)
    C) Sterling to Son
    D) Save
    E) Smth else

    Pope
    TAA, Soy, Tomori, Lund

But do you expect them to keep a CS against Bournemouth? An attacking team, while Pope might get many saves against City. Its a difficult one. I also dont like to double up, which I would if I got Hendo.

It's more long term for me, if you look at the next ten games Guaita vs Pope, it's chalk and cheese. Hendo may do as well I just don't like the idea of a double up.

Yeah horrible fixtures for Burnley to be fair, so I will probably get Hendo or Guaita. Leaning towards Guaita atm to avoid the double up. Cheers!

Does that Frank comment mean that there wont be another update from club before gw deadline on Tammy?

    Cant decide whether to:
    A) Play Tammy (tomori 1st sub)
    B) Bench Tammy (play tomori)
    C) Sell Tammy > Ings/Mousset

Original plan was Pope to Hendo/Guaita

So, further news on Tammy seems unlikely before the games start.

Would you sit tight, save FT and reassess for the weekend with this squad:

    Pope
    TAA - Soy - Lund
    KDB - Mané - Mount - Tielemans
    Kane - Vardy - Tammy*

Subs: Cahill* - Hayden - Diop

Or would you do Tammy to Mousset to get a starting XI without fodder and leave some money ITB to upgrade Mount next GW?

Who needs to go first, Boly or Pope?

    Pope, Button
    TAA, Chilwell, Lund, Kelly, Boly*
    Mane, Son, KDB, Maddison, Mount
    Vardy, Jimi, Greenwood

Assuming Boly is on the bench, Pope. Tough run ahead.

Agreed, I've been trying to get rid of Boly for weeks but its hard when he wouldn't be playing anyway. Lost me £0.2m keeping.

Did a Christmas clean up last night and brought Guaita in for Pope for Palaces lush fixture.

    Guaita
    TAA Lundstram Soyuncu Tomori
    Salah KDB Maddison Mount
    Vardy (c) Jimenez
    (Pope / Cantwell Rico Abraham*)

    G2G?
Should I captain someone else see as i'm 920k OR after a shocking start?

Ya good point. He's on fire too. I gambled on Salah captain so only lost 3 points but won't lie I was dreading it yesterday
