Martial comes through injury doubt to start for Man United

Anthony Martial (£7.6m) has come through his pre-match injury doubts to start for Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hinted that he wasn’t sure if the Frenchman could feature from the beginning in Gameweek 16 but it looks as if he might have been playing mind-games ahead of such an important match.

Martial’s presence means that Manchester United’s attack is largely at full-strength for their trip across the city, Marcus Rashford (£8.8m) and Daniel James (£6.1m) either side of him.

However, the main Fantasy focus of this match is naturally going to be on the hosts and, thankfully, there are very few shocks and surprises.

Raheem Sterling (£11.9m) and Gabriel Jesus (£9.6m) form two-thirds of the front-three with Bernardo Silva (£7.9m) also included in the starting line-up.

Kevin de Bruyne (£10.3m) and David Silva (£7.6m) are both present in central midfield while Angeliño (£4.7m) gets a second start in a row at left-back.

Manchester City XI: Ederson; Angeliño, Fernandinho, Stones, Walker; de Bruyne, D Silva, Rodrigo; Sterling, Jesus, B Silva.

Manchester United XI: De Gea; Shaw, Maguire, Lindelöf, Wan-Bissaka; Fred, McTominay; Rashford, Lingard, D James; Martial.

      I made that transfer for this GW. Decided on son to Alli. Did debate dumping KDB which is probably the other option. Not sure which is preferable right now.

    I'm probably jinxing it but I did Sterling > Salah(C) (-4) this week, first hit since GW7, it's nice when something comes off for a change. My free transfer was Martial to Alli but we won't talk about that.

    Before the season started, it was going to be LFC v City 2.0 for me... painful viewing as a United fan.

    City just really seem to lack that key to find results when it matters most. Last season they just blew nearly every team away and didn’t find themselves in spots of bother too often.

    Liverpool have had a blip this season and you might not even have noticed. That 5 game run between SHUFC and AVFC they were awful relative to their normal standard of this and last season. But they still managed to come through dropping only 2 points. They just know how to find the answer and that’s what it takes to be champions.

    (Leicester are worth a mention here too. They’ve found that key when needed often this season too, just like last week when Iheanacho banged one in at 96Mins. But I just don’t see them sustaining the tempo.)
