Bottomed - Any reason not to do Auba to Abraham tonight? Could be a £0.2m swing tonight. Rashford seems more popular around here this week but I'm a bit uncertain of Utd assets.

Okay, so I have to bench one of:

    A) Trent
    B) Robbo
    C) Chilwell
    D) Lord Lundstram

    Who would you bench?

Haha, don't think I dare to do so...

        Front 7 is:
        Alli, Mane, Pulisic, Barnes
        Abraham, Vardy, Ings

Barnes is a bit of an interesting one, but I think he can do some good stuff vs Norwich

Leaning Robbo atm as Pool defence is looking not the best to say the least, so think he is the most probable to get a 1-2 pointer. Am I right in thinking so or is the upside with CS + assist too great to ignore?

2FT, but no idea what to do! Thinking maybe just Ward to Kelly and roll the other FT?

    Or maybe Jimenez our?

    Pope / Gazza

    TAA, Soyuncu, Lundstram,

    KDB, Mane, Maddison, Ali, Mount

    Vardy, Jimenez

    Ayew, Rico, Joel Ward

Vardy surely can't keep this up. Would stick him on the bench.

No, seriously a difficult one.. Can't believe I am saying this, but Son? Wolves are tricky to break down, pluss Alli stayed home for the CL game while Son had to travel.

Food for thought, cheers. Ings was brought in a couple GWs ago and was always a short term addition until GW18 / 19 (mainly when Abraham was injured) and then sell to a bench warmer and upgrade defence. His form and fixtures has left me here this week though.

If you stop playing Lundstram just because you have Henderson in goal, why did you even buy Henderson?

Fair point, did bring Henderson in for his nice run of fixtures and the strong Sheffield United defence. Did not really pay off, so now I'm hesitant to double up. Think Lundstram could exploit the weak Villa defence

Why do so many people give the scoutcast a hard time? I just listened to it and I enjoyed this episode. Sure some are weaker than others, but it’s like many folks refuse to move past Mark and Granville and just wanna thrash anyone else who comes on.
I liked that Karam had some opposing opinions to the other two too. He’s like the old Az before Az went dullard

    1. Brosstan
      • 9 Years

Its soulless and lacks real chemistry and banter unlike other more free flowing podcasts (like the old scoutcast with Mark and granville)

Soulless is way too harsh imo. Mark and Granville have great chemistry I agree and I do think there’s a lot to be said for having a consistent hosting team who can develop that chemistry and shtick over time.

      2. Nas

Lol! I didn’t mean to diss Az, just meant dullard as a strategy instead of maverick. I favor the ‘2 dullard 1 maverick’ balance in the scoutcasters. Az used to be the maverick but lately he’s been more safe and ‘dull’ which has helped his rank no doubt, but then you end up with 3 people just agreeing with each other which isn’t as much fun.
We all want to bank of that differential punt who goes on to haul and it’s good to see someone who has that strategy even if it doesn’t work. That was Mark when he was on

    3. More Cowbell

I Haven’t seen many give it a hard time, but I think it’s probably a case of you can’t please all the people all the time. Any show will have its critics. I personally think the scoutcast in its current form is excellent and the level of analysis is incredible. Mark and Granville offered something equally as entertaining but different; less stats and strategy, and more social (for want of a better word). The different formats and personalities will attract a different sort of listener and equally some will decide that the newer format isn’t for them.

Keep up the great FFS crew!

Looking at the scout league many are stuck. Most have the same 3 defenders.

Vardy is in most 10k teams, main forwards are Tammy, Rash or Jimmi.

You only have to look at the ownership of your players to see it. I have only 2 players that are 10% or less.

Or I have a decent first bench player to come in during rotation season over the festive period? Also, with cheaper defenders doing so well this season I’m happy enough having such a strong front eight.

That means youre counting on a benching every week - not a good strategy, at all.

The OR number 1 player in the world has the same team structure as me, five cheap defenders and eight strong attackers (the cheapest being 5.8m, my cheapest being 6m). The fixture list most weeks makes the decision simple. This week is an exception. I’m really not sure you can say it’s a poor strategy given the OR world number 1 is using the very same strategy?

What youre discussing is called "confirmation bias". So, because the OR 1 has done what you want to do, you correlate it to success. That correlation is wrong. Some people succeed despite themselves. Having millions stuck on your bench most weeks where everyone else has it on the pitch in their starting 11 is a losing game.

what you're saying about OR1 is valid, but I'm not sure it is a losing game … if you have 8 strong attackers and pick the 'best' 7 every week and also factor in that you will likely have a stronger autosub than most it might not be such a bad idea … but only really when the most expensive players aren't firing in decent scores regularly (Sterling!)

I reckon that has something to do with why he's #1. Not just the fact he has a budget defence..

But I'm just guessing, no scientific evidence at all.

The top 10k template has four cheap defenders plus TAA. That’s the only difference. With cheap defenders currently performing so well I’d rather invest in my front eight. It’s personal choice and I respect everybody’s opinion, I just don’t think it’s a “ridiculous” team as previously stated.

as long as you have skills to pick the right players then this strategy works and in a season where alot of the players are underpriced, no reason not to. That benching 2m thing is strange compulsion, If benching 2 million menas you have Son instead of Sterling i would rather bench 2 mill more-)

lol why you just copy and paste the same reply from above.
But anyway, I would assume he has only gone for a decent bench attacker recently, to cover 18 and the xmas period.
And it has nothing to do with his current league position/had no impact whatsoever.

Chances of a rest for TAA this week? Had his rest interrupted last weekend and played mid-week. That'd mean he'd have 2 blanks in a row...

4 yellow cards could be enough for Klopp to give him a rest before Leicester.

      Gtg bro.
would love to Kane and alli in my team.always scared of not owning a premium striker, but this year its turning out diff.
probably take out tomori next week,as the fixtures looks bad and price drops too.

I’m happy enough with my squad but this feels like one of those weeks that is destined for the popular picks that I don’t have score all the points! I can already feel that familiar sense of Saturday evening disappointment!
