As we have such a tight turnaround between Gameweeks 18 and 19, we’ve collated all of our Members Analysis entries, which usually sit on the footer of each Scout Notes articles, into one piece.
We’ve compared all the assets from Saturday’s matches to see which impressed us the most ahead of the Boxing Day programme.
So what do we reckon to Ancelotti’s appointment at Everton then?
A massive name with a huge pedigree, Ancelotti is more used to competing for titles and winning European Cups than fighting against the threat of relegation and squad building, but I think the Italian will do well.
Player wise, I’ve got more than an eye on early season favourite Lucas Digne who came out of yesterday’s game with a clean sheet and all three bonus points, Everton now sit top of the ticker over the next 8 games for teams with the best fixtures for the defence and at a reduced price of £5.7m, huge assist potential and a penchant for the odd direct free kick, I think he has once again become a hugely enticing asset.
In the midfield, Gylfi Sigurdsson may benefit if Ancelotti plays him in the hole in a 4-2-3-1 formation or potentially at the tip of a diamond. Sigurdsson scored 182 points last season and looked nicely priced when the season began at £8m - likely on pens and most set pieces, you can now pick up the Icelander for a paltry £7.4m.
It will be interesting to see who plays up front and if it’s a one or a two, but wherever he is playing I would expect Richarlison to continue to have a good season and even kick on from here whilst Dominic Calvert-Lewin could prove to be a bargain if he can cement his spot whilst Moise Kean could be one to now keep an eye on under his compatriots tutelage, though I wouldn’t be surprised if Everton make moves to sign a new forward in January and certainly another centre half.

Yeah, could be. Like I say though I think they’ll be looking to bring in another centre half in January so it could be a bit risky.

If my recollection is correct, there is 'always' a period of high team spirit when a new manager is coming regardless what team it is. So yes will keep an eye. DCL is on my radar to start with due to the price.
Sigurdsson price is better value if he can return to a regular starting place, slightly worried about Match fitness.. Could be a good replacement for Zaha in my team..

Very tempted by Digne as my de facto TAA replacement (already gone) - just a case of whether funds are right for shifting around in midfield

This is a perfect summary of why I think he’ll be a flop just like Pellegrini is at West Ham at current.
Look at Pellegrini at West Ham. These high end managers are lost when they’ve got to take over teams with an average squad, not as much funds and can’t attract the type of players they are used to being able to purchase.
Ancelotti is in an entirely different league.
So was Rafa Benitez, but we didn’t buy Newcastle players.

The fixtures are good though, it may pay to get ahead of the curve.
Better teams have better fixtures for the next few. GW22 is when their real swing is. Gives a sensible time to assess rather than a semi-blind punt
Exactly the same thinking here. Wait and see for the next 3 games and then after the City game decide if they are any good under the new manager.

I got Rich in on WC this week and he isn't going anywhere for now. Will monitor other assets but I like the Digne shout, he's back on my watch list along with Siggy.
I'm thinking of getting in Digne this week for Doherty. As you say, assist potential, will probably get a goal or two during the season, and great fixtures.

See out this gw then decide imo, i have rash but newcastle, Burnley coming up wonr be easy fixtures as utd struggle against teams that defend deep. Keep tammy in mind aswell.
Josh king/ callum wilson are ones to watch with Bournemouth fixtures turning but of course they need to start scoring first
I understand United lack of creativity ... but that does not directly mean Rashford will not score points (read: his form & on penalty)
Agree wiv you there mate, them pens are a right pain up the rear when you dont have rash, my concerns wic him though lay in utds creativity and rash not scoring frequently in open play , id say if you have ,keep and monitor if you dont, let the gw end and then decide

I largely agree but Son is tempting. More explosive and pretty reliable v bad teams.
I have to play my WC next gw but perfectly fine with it and finally seeing a few green arrows. Pretty sure the WC will mess things up. Ideas on what’s lacking in this team

I'd probably keep TAA. To fit Salah + keep all the other guys you'll have to do a move as you've said and go straight up 3-4-3 and have less cash on the bench/rotation options than you've currently got.
