FFS Cup

The latest FFS Cup fixtures and results

The draws for the sixth round of the FFS Members Cup and the seventh round of the FFS Cup have taken place following the completion of Gameweek 21.

We’re down to the final 16 Fantasy managers in both tournaments after the New Year’s Day round of fixtures.

FFS CUP

The results from the sixth round of the open-to-all 2019/20 FFS Cup are available by clicking here.

The seventh round draw in full can be accessed here.

Our highest-ranked manager in round six (more of whom below) made it through to the round of 16.

Teddy Brewski, still chasing a cup double, beat robharr to progress to the next stage.

He will play TOMYG84 in round seven.

Our only all-top 10k clash in Gameweek 22 sees Mataatti take on Leggend2: this is the former’s third successive meeting with a manager inside the top 10,000 at the point of the tie.

Our only two remaining site users who lie outside the top 100k and who remain in the FFS Cup, stamfordbridge and A Team Has No Name, meet each other in the last 16.

FFS MEMBERS CUP

The scores from the fifth round of the 2019/20 FFS Members Cup are available by clicking here.

The sixth round draw in full can be accessed here.

An impressive four of our remaining 16 managers – including the aforementioned Teddy Brewski – are currently inside the top 1k.

Our highest-ranked entrant left in either competition remains at 14th in the world after Gameweek 21.

frankiem, who first entered the top 1k four months ago, defeated Emm7980 and will meet prbaker1980 in the sixth round.

ActorJeff and BeckerCallSaul, who have overall ranks of 388th and 586th respectively, also progressed.

The aforementioned TeddyBrewski saw off moderator TorresMagic in the first Gameweek of 2020 and will next play robharr – who he coincidentally defeated in round six of the FFS Cup.

Ok, trying to be clever and plan for DGW24.
Which team looks best? Simply put, its a decition between Robbo or Mane as the third Pool guy.

    A: (442 or 433)
    mccarty
    Robbo, TAA, soy, Lund, webster
    Maddy, salah, KDB, alli, dendo
    Vardy, DCL, ings

    B: (343) + 0.6 ITB and 1FT.

    Rico, TAA, soy, Lund, webs
    Grealish, salah, KDB, mane, dendo
    Vardy, DCL, ings

      So the difference is

      A. Maddy, Alli, Robertson

      B. Mane, grealish, Rico

      Probably b.

Mane is better than Maddy, grealish & Alli are the same. Rico could easily sneak a clean sheet with his fixtures

A bit off topic but does anyone know why David Moyes is hated by mos tEverton fans? Twice when he was suggested as returning there was a huge fan backlash.

Is it because they are angry he left them to to Man U? Seems ridiculous given the years of service he gave them and consistent finish in the league. Surely he deserved a shot at managing a top club. I also read it was because Utd made derisory offers for Baines & Fellaini (surely this was down to Woodward rather than Moyes).

Have a feeling he'll do well at West Ham and will even get one over on Everton when they meet in a couple of weeks.

People talk about player power but fan power is just as strong. So many fan forums full of armchair managers who have no access to what's going on behind the scenes but think they know best in terms of who the manager should be and what the starting 11 should be.

As an Everton fan, I will say:
      He is a rat.
But honestly, he was the last Everton manager, who has basic knowledge about managing football club in Premier League. All after him, expect Alardichi, used their time in our football club to learn about this simple game.

As a neutral I would have taken Moyes over Ancelotti but I hope both do well. I think Moyes gets a bad press and made bad choices in taken the Sunderland and Real Soc jobs.

Moyes burned bridges to come back. Left for free, talked too negatively. Wanted to get our best players on half price....
Anchelotti at least is a winner, not whiner. All my trust in him for sure.

Agree 100%. When Moyes was manager of Everton they always beat the likes of West Ham. I can see the tables turning now that he is West Ham. I hope Ancelotti does well but at the same time I wouldn't be surprised if he turns into another Pellegrini.

    Ramsdale.
    TAA, Soyuncu, Holgate.
    Grealish, KDB, Mane, Salah.
    Maupay, Abraham, Vardy.
    Stek, Lundstram, Dendoncker, Kelly.
    2ft's, 0.0m.

Thinking of just moving Kelly out for Williams. Saves a little bit of cash. I am not bothered whether he becomes nailed or not. 3rd sub anyway.

    1. Just Kelly -> Williams this GW and re-assess.
    2. Kelly -> Williams + Maupay -> DCL.
    3. Other move(s).

Because arguably he has a higher floor for points than most others despute lower ceiling. West Ham is unlikely to get many CS’s but a lot of save points for him is quite likely and as seen with examples with Ryan vs Man Utd and Guaita vs Brighton, GKs can still get 7-8 pts without even a CS or penalty save.

While many others are more likely to keep a CS, if they don’t keep those CS’s, then ending up with 2 points is quite likely.

Just bought Rams last week and already think that was a mistake. Rather wait and see if Bou defence will at least show signs of life. Ryan is good choice with better defence, also Guaita has great fix again after gw24. Not a fun of doubling up, but Henderson can bring you more pts. Just dont go Fabianski, bad choice in can’t defend team.

It’s ok - if I am as in WC think would go Jimenez to Ings (better long term fixtures), Richarlison and Snodgrass to KDB and Cantwell, Fabianski to Ryan -don’t see the attraction of West Ham as double game week fixtures awful and not keen on triple Everton

Had Ryan all season- not a fan for a while now.

I’ve had Ings last two weeks and it’s been good so might keep but I like Jiménez’s ownership in top 10k.

Richarlison looks good- both goals and assists on the way I think.

Losing KDB is risky 100% but have kept the high owned players in Mane, Vardy, Lundstram and TAA.

Cantwell is nice but fixtures are poor.

If you like benching headaches it's good. Who do you put on the bench for dgw24 (WHU) Maddison over Snoddy? Jimmy? I think it works better to get Cantwell or Greenwood and don't bother with the brain dilemmas.

    Adama Troaré is a TRAP!!

I got Adama Troaré when his price was at £5.1m giving me cover for not having Raul Jimenez. With a few double digit hauls against Man City and Spurs, his ownership has jumped to has John to 16%. In my video below, I explain how failing to manage expectations properly could lead to huge disappoint in owning him.

Dont think anyone is expecting much from a player like him, just a decent bench cover or a 5th mid which allows Salah-Mane-Kevin midfield.

Personally think Fleck and Cantwell or better options at this point. Aswell as cheaper price points, they have hit double digit hauls. Difference is that they haven’t been against the big teams,

I think bad choice with some reason(s) not to get rid off can be called with word "trap". A player (like Pulisic), who had decent underlying stats and fixtures and no good alternatives in same price and position (Graelish for example had four yellows) does match the definition imo.

EVE and BHA on either side of DGW. Considering his save potential, 5-6pts are also possible. And its not like any alternatives especially Pope or Ryan or Ramsdale are performing well, pretty much same.

Save points but at the end of the day an extra game for one of your players should add a few more points

I'm of the school of thought that you should just pick a 4.5 GKer and stick with them. Obviously, during Wildcard you might choose to swap to another cheap GKer. But outside of WC I just stick with them.

I've had Ryan since GW1 and he'll be staying until the next WC at least. No desire to use a FT on bringing in Fab at all.

They’ve just said on Sky Sports News that Man Utd are being linked with a move for Raul Jimenez

Sweet Baby Jesus but that would be a fantastic signing

Jimmy with Rashford & one of James/Martial either side of him...

It makes way too much sense as a signing for Utd though so almost no chance of Woodward sanctioning it

I'd MUCH rather they signed a central midfielder. The next few months are going to a bloodbath with a MF consisting of Fred & Matic.

Matic turns with the agility and speed of a supertanker!

Upfront we are actually looking okay (not great - but okay!). Martial is doing a decent job and Greenwood looks like a star in the making.

        Central mid is a necessity

But so is a central striker & Jimmy just oozes class - he’s more than good enough and not many players of his qualities are around at the minute

        I don’t think it’s an either/or scenario either - signing Jimmy shouldn’t rule out signing a CM

I'm trying to decide on some worthwhile punts here. On my WC and a bit far behind in terms of league standings atm.

I already have Salah, TAA and Mane for the DGW.

Thoughts on Felipe and Haller? Felipe seems like he is turning a corner and Haller could be the most who benefits from this.

Was thinking of adding Felipe now and Haller in GW 24. Thoughts?

I really wouldn't bother. Perhaps add one WHam player just in time for the DGW, but even that isn't necessary really.

I'm going with zero WHam and I can honestly say I don't fear missing out one bit.

      Yeah, I like it.
