Meet the Manager #19 – Pranil Sheth (Lateriser12)

Among ProPundit Pranil Sheth‘s standout phrases when he discusses his stellar Fantasy Premier League career is, “hit home, hit hard”.

Making high-impact decisions quickly, around form and fixtures, is how Pranil has achieved the remarkable feat of two top 200 finishes and has never completed a campaign outside the top 50K in his last seven seasons.

The pinnacle of this remarkable run was his finish of 77th in 2015/16 and reaching the dizzy heights at one point during the 2012/13 season of 22nd, before finishing in 189th spot.

Over these campaigns, he has ruthlessly focused on ensuring he has the best chance of beating those around him with strong, often low-owned, premium options that can better the game’s popular picks each week.

A case in point was this season when he successfully backed Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah with the armband over runaway favourite Jamie Vardy.

During his chat with Joe, Pranil reveals why he is happy to take hits as he looks to take out his opponents swiftly. Bold moves are also needed for success when reaching the very highest rank spots, he explains.

Such is his commitment to FPL that he took a break during the 2014/15 campaign to spend time setting up his business. Embarking on a season not fully focused on FPL is simply not an option for Pranil.

Elsewhere, he explains why his ranks were so bad at the start of his FPL career in 2008 and why friendly rivalry took precedent back then.

He also pays tribute to this site and its community for helping with his recent success.

    Asked this earlier but new crowd on year now;

Alli > Richarlison for the next 2GW's then bring Mane in as already have Salah.

Got 2FT's so though i'd use one as punt for 2 weeks?

    Thoughts?

‪After hours of tinkering, I’ve finally come up with a transfer plan for my team below. Currently 2 FTs and 0.1 ITB. ‬

    ‪GW22: Kelly —> 3.9‬
    ‪GW23: Rashford —> Ings‬
    ‪GW24: Dunk+Maddison+Jimenez —> 4.4+Mane+DCL (-4)‬

    Ramsdale
    TAA - Sidibe - Dunk - Lundstram - Kelly
    Salah - KDB - Maddison - Grealish - Dendoncker
    Rashford - Vardy - Jimenez

‪Your thoughts would be highly appreciated! ‬

You can do straight switch from Kevin to Mane instead of taking a -4 and getting rid of Maddison/Jimenez in the process.

          Kevin(shu, tot) ---> Mane(wol, whm, SOU) --- > Kevin (WHM)?

I got KDB for 9.6 so I've got way to much value locked up in him. Just can't get rid of him, but I like your thought process!

Decent plan but you can get priced out easily. Also Dunk and Maddison are quality picks

yeah looks good broadly but will need to be mindful of price rises. Mane & DCL may well both rise before 24

All in on Mane seems detrimental. I prefer the 3 players you’re planning to lose for gw24

        - Dunk has good fixtures, but could get Webster or even Ryan a couple of GWs later

        - Jimenez has LIV, mun, LEI over GW24-26 and I only have 0.1M locked up in him. DCL has NEW, wat, CRY, ars between GW24-27.

        - Maddison has WHU, CHE, wol, MCI over GW24-27, which are ok fixtures, but Mane is a much better player, has extremely high ownership and has wol+whu, SOU, nor, WHU, wat, BOU... between GW24-29.

In what way is that detrimental?

Will Ings, Mané and DCL (-4) outscore Rashford, Maddy, Dunk and Jiminez?

Coupled with 2 permanently benched players....

    Two FTs, A, B or C?

    A) Kelly & Alli to Robertson & Grealish
    B) Kelly & Alli to Sidibe & Richarlison
    C) Guaita & Alli to Pickford & Mahrez

    Current team:

    A. Son, Rashford to Salah, Ings

A)Take Alli out > Sarr, Maddison, Dilva

Long term plan is to take Alli and Martial out maybe next week for Liverpool treble up. Could do it gw23 for -4 or wait till gw24 for free. Thank you!!

This has been done almost to death but let's look at Lundstram as a godlike FPL asset this season.

4.0 should buy you an unlikely starter in a a bad side or possibly an impossible starter in a better one.

    then
    +0.5 for playing
+0.5 for playing for a team with a strong defence which keeps clean sheets
+0.5 for playing for said team in midfield
+0.5 for playing in such an advanced role in said midfield
+0.5 for making the most of this advanced role and scoring and creating goals.

Legend. Will we ever see his like again?

If you got him for any price, even for 5.2m, he is good value.

If there is it'll probably be from a promoted team again.

Less glamourous but hoping for Dendoncker as a £4.5m Wolves defender if he carries on playing back there.

So I think I am going Robbo over Salah for my third Liverpool spot.

My team is a bit weak in defence.

I could swap Abraham to DLC or switch to 352 and swap Martial to Salah but that wouldnt leave much to upgrage the third defender spot.

I think you should sell Pope and roll the second transfer.

Grealish or Alli? City defence is shite plsu 2-3 nice games after that and Spurs in freefall and Alli not doing it but Villa not a high scoring team and Alli does well when Kane doesn't play.

Best 5.6m or under midfielder to replace Grealish this week in order to fund Salah & TAA over the next two weeks.

Note will be my 4th Midfilelder for at least 3 weeks before possibly downgrading rashford and upgrading midfielder.

Before yesterday's match I even considered captaining Sterling but now I'm thinking about buying Salah sooner than planned.
