The latest FFS Cup fixtures and results

We have reached the quarter-final stage of both the FFS Members Cup and the FFS Cup, with eight managers falling by the wayside in each competition in Gameweek 22.

FFS CUP

The results from the seventh round of the open-to-all 2019/20 FFS Cup are available by clicking here.

The quarter-final draw in full can be accessed here or viewed below.

Our highest-ranked manager in round seven, Teddy Brewski, bowed out after a 54-50 defeat to TOMYG84.

The all-top 10k clash between Mataatti and Leggend2 went the way of the former, who has now seen off a manager inside the top 10,000 three rounds running.

Our only two site users in the round of 16 who sat outside the top 100,000 met each other in round seven, with stamfordbridge narrowly defeating A Team Has No Name 52-51.

Philman also won by a single-point margin, while site regular AMEY progressed to the last eight, too.

As well as Mataatti, Gamesz Rodriguez is our only other remaining manager inside the top 10k.

Who is everyone captaining this GW?

I’m on Vardy but far from convinced.

Other picks are KDB and Salah

Exactly same trio in my consideration.
KDB atm but not sure at all...

KdB currently, but it's a tough choice between him and Vardy.

Vardy for me too - Burnley defence is dreadful and Leicester will be looking to bounce back. Palace defence isn't too bad - only shipped one goal in last few matches.

Between Aguero and Vardy for me - more down to the quality of the opposition defence's than the player's in question

Don’t think Palace defence matches up well to City - see previous page.

Wanted to try Vardy again but having triple LEI is enough for that game.

Captain choice has nothing to do with how many other players you have from the same team

      Exactly same choice as me!

Currently on Vardy. Originally I thought BUR at turf moor wasn't a good idea but then looked at their recent performances and they have shipped 10 goals in the last 5 Home matches!

I went for KDB last week and still very tempted but just nervous he plays very deep again and is stifled from getting anything by CRY.

On WC and wondering it Robertson's assist potential is significantly greater than VVD's goal threat. Removing BPS and Robertson would need to get twice as many assists as VVD scores goals to be worth while. Any thoughts here?

    1. Dion D's Solo Shower
      • 6 Years
      4 years, 3 months ago

The obvious advantage of VVD is that he's rotation proof and 0.5 m. cheaper. But with Milner out, you could say the same for Robbo about rotation.
Robertson is just so integral to the way Liverpool play, so he will more often than not get in positions where he can make that assist.

But you could make a case for both of them being a good pick.

I don't really need the 0.6 right now but you never know down the line. Think I have ruled out Gomez now as an option with Matip pictured back in training.

Why remove the BPS they're a thing and will continue to be a thing for TAA and Robertson because of how they play. A better final ball from Robertston v Spurs could have given him 2 or 3 assists for tap ins. IMO he much more likely to assist than van Dijk score.

Very keen to have 3 Liv players along with Martial, Alli and ideally triple Leicester for dgw 24.
Will appreciate your advice on the below:

    1) gw24: Rico Grealish Jimenez-> VVD Martial Greenwood for -4
    2) gw24: Grealish Jimenez -> Fleck FIRMINO
    gw25: Alli-> Martial
gw26: Maddison Firmino-> Salah Ayew for -4 (and rotate Ayew with Fleck)
    3) Rico Jimenez-> VVD Maupay for free
    4) Rico Alli -> GOMEZ Martial for free
    5) Rico Grealish-> ROBBO Hayden

    Currently squad:
    McCarthy
    Taa- Soy- Lundstram
    Mane- Kdb -Maddison- Alli
    Vardy -Ings -Jimenez

    Grealish Rico Kelly

Milner being out and Matip fit again leads me to this conclusion.

Avoid Trent and Robertson and get Gomez who will play central in the first game and replace one of the Full Backs in the second.

    Done.

And for all the juicy fixtures post 24? Seems a bit short term to me.

Yep - personally I'd rather let Joemez prove himself as a 200 point FPL player before passing up the chance to sign one of VVD, Robbo, TAA

Granted he looks a good pick in his own right, and obviously could outscore the others both in the short term and long term...

Gomez won't be shifted now. He's in great form, 6 out of 6 clean sheets since he's been in the side. It was only a matter of time before Gomez and VVD were paired together anyway, that's always been the plan but Gomez had a shaky start. Fine now.

I get the feeling the "Teeth" doth prefer Matip though.

Watching Matip this season has changed my opinion of him, before I would of said Gomez all day, not so sure now.

Good problem for the Pool, mind.

Afternoon all. I’m looking a Liverpool defensive double-up for GW 24 with Mane as my attacker. But how much of a threat is Matip to Gomez starting both games?

He is a slight threat but they might just use him in the Cup. Can't imagine Klopp will mess around too much with the defence in the league given its recent record.

3 more isn’t much more IMO. last year against wolves salah got a goal and assist and mane didn’t nothing.

More clinical on chances presented to him ...

I just think Salah looks back to his best. plus he gets much more chances than mane and has pens. playing devils advocate here.

      Flip a coin, genuinely.

Salah is the maverick pick because of his low ownership among the top 10k and active teams.

Mane the safer pick because of the opposite of the above.

I'm going Salah. He should still be a great differential in the DGW. Milner injured so he's on pens, and hiw showing a bit of a resurgence in form.

Interesting. Is there a debate here between consolidating and chasing? I.E, play risky if chasing (salah) and play safe if doing well (mane)

i’m sat just under 50k and fancy salah after 4 consecutive red arrows. TC salah just looks far too enticing to pass up.

They concede enough goals in recent weeks. Plus 1 goal for Ings nets him 3 bps

Then go for it - agree with below that he is good for a goal and BPS but might be players with greater potential this week elsewhere

He'll almost certainly score 1 but doubt he'll score more than that. If you're satisfied with 7-9 pts go with him. Just feel like Vardy could get a brace so I'm going with him

If you are pushed to sacrifice any of these to ensure trio Liverpool for SGW24, who to drop?
    A. KDB
    B. Vardy
    C. Rashford

          KDB season keeper
Vardy can't lose him as he will keep chipping
So rashford is easier of those 3 imo

KDB GW24 and 25 are possible to compromise ... back GW26 if him removed

Of course there's always a rotation risk with City but they have Spurs away, West Ham home, Leicester away, Real away, Arsenal home, Man Utd away, Burnley home, Real home, Chelsea away. Where would you rest your best player in that run? I might even go without him during that run.

I am considering KdB to Son for gw24, will cost me 0.3 million to get him back though. Upgrading Martial or selling Mane or Salah (Vardy) is an option to get him back.

Long term probably B. Im likely to drop Vardy this week, loads have suggested it’s a bad idea, but i’d rather Rashford over the next 6.

What is the best move to make for GW24 with this team? I don't want to go with Salah.

    Ryan, Gazza

    TAA, Lundstram, Tomori, Kelly, Simpson

    Mane, Mahrez, KDB, Richarlison, Mount

    Abraham, Vardy, Greenwood

A: Tomori, Mount -> Robertson, Dendoncker
B: Mahrez, Greenwood -> Firmino, Dendoncker

    Thanks!

A as Robertson will do better after DGW. Plus the options you are taking out in A are worse than in B.

Salah is essential after GW24 imo tho, which is why I'm getting him for DGW

1 clean sheet in the last 14 GW’s. Wolves.

Does anyone see this trend continuing this weekend away to Southampton?

It’s making me want Ings even more because if Saints do score, which appears likely, he will be the man.

    From GW24:

    A) Son & Robertson (-4)
    B) Salah & Soyuncu

From GW24, Son faces Villa & Norwich in next 3. Plus I'm going to Norwich game so kinda want a player, have Aurier though
