Is now the time to sell Leicester City defenders?

Having recorded just one clean sheet in seven league matches, Leicester City defenders are not quite the attractive options they were during their autumnal purple patch.

Three of the Foxes’ first-choice backline are indeed among the top five most-sold Fantasy Premier League defenders of Gameweek 23 at the time of writing.

Jonny Evans (£5.3m) is the only Leicester defender to have registered an attacking return over the last seven Gameweeks, meanwhile, and the loss of key midfielder Wilfred Ndidi (£5.0m) to injury would seem to further dent the clean sheet prospects of Brendan Rodgers’ side.

With some Fantasy managers already losing faith, are we rushing to judgement about the Foxes’ defence?

In this article, we look at some of the key underlying data in our Members Area to see if Leicester’s wider defensive numbers have dipped during their recent run.

We don't know yet but even if he's fit, playing away to LIV is the toughest fixture possible so a blank would be the logical outcome. But then, MUN play a very weak BUR.

I set an aim to myself early in the season that I need to reduce the amount of hits taken. Previously, around 50 to 70 points of hits taken.

Currently at 32 points of hits taken. Bit cautious in getting players in this season.. But, lose out on a few train such as Ings.. Next season might need to improve in decision making and in terms planning..

Points over pounds. Time for pounds was in the earlier half. Now for the pounds to provide an advantage over those with a lower TV, you'd have to prioritize points

Moose and Don... Early wildcard, maybe? I saw where my team was headed and pulled the plug for GW22. Refused the call of City players because that would have been more of a free hit move. But it still worked. Something like Guaita + Rico + Kelly + Madders + Alli + Maupay + Greenwood => McCarthy + Sidibe + Simpson + Martial + Hayden + Jimenez + Ings

Too sleepy now to calculate the point swing that came from this, but it was healthy

From Ben Crellin's predictions, I didn't see myself making enough ground from a late wildcard (GW33/36) to hold it for that long when I was at 300k by GW21

At the moment no. Not brave enough to have early WC.

Been stuck at 350k to 450k for a month.

Slow climb from GW15 @ 800k. Might need few differentials to climb up the rank I suppose.

Or the right blend of template players. Luck's been a big factor as what made people buy Ings also made people buy CHO/Pulisic/Trossard/Alli

And what made people buy Aguero for GW22 also made people buy/cap Sterling. But nobody celebrates or popularizes the differentials who fall flat... Which occurs far more often than the successful ones

How bad do you think Villa currently is? If you think they can beat Leicester, then Villa and City should blank

If you feel Leicester will spank them, then expect Leicester and City to blank

I'm not going to put any faith in Man U for this one 😀

Rashford /Soy to Ings/Robbo for free?

Have Salah, KDB, maddison, Vardy, tammy, Taa, rico, Kelly. 0.1 short of Kelly or rico to robbo instead

    1. Ze_Austin
      • 5 Years

Ings now, Robbo next GW. No rush to sell Soy now and you might be able to combine someone else in the move next GW then sell Rico (keeper to McCarthy, for instance) instead of Soy... Then Soy goes in GW25

        Soy to anybody for GW25

He's a tough kid. I sent the link because it must not be serious for them to be considering getting him fit for Liverpool

The tone is usually different when it's serious. Seems it was more of a flare-up caused by playing him through the pain barrier in the first place

More of rest and recovery than... Ya know... Serious stuff or quotes like "We don't know when he'll be back"/ "...a couple of weeks"

They'll run tests, so we'll find out soon anyway

I doubt he's gonna be ready for us for pool match, and even if he were, what would you expect from him that game carrying a back injury? Blank would be logical either way, might not even be fully fot for Burnley imo.

I'd love me some points either way 😀

Wolves should wipe one CS off though. They are beasts. It all comes down to what happens at West Ham. A scoreline that could be anything from 0-2 to 1-6 with attacking returns for everyone

Ditto on both counts. If following more carefully, I should have sold Button to get McCarthy rather than selling Ramsdale, but at least I still gained a little cash that should help GW 24.

      Nice +0.2 swing.
Owning Button since gw1, I was monitoring his price change % movement, which was close to -100% for days, while McCarthy was about to rise.
Even if I own Henderson, McCarthy's & SOU's form & fixtures (apart from gw25) along with him costing just 0.3 more than the base price, make Button to McCarthy feel like a good move.

Down a full 1.0 from a WC, but back up 0.1 so far. Expect that to be 0.3 by tomorrow, possibly 0.4 by Saturday morning. Not included any possible 'saves' from now-sold drops.
