All eyes on Chelsea after disappointing start to Gameweek 23

Many Fantasy Premier League managers are relying on Chelsea assets to bail them out after a disappointing start to Gameweek 23.

With Manchester City largely frustrated by Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon, there is increased pressure on the final three fixtures of the weekend.

As expected Tammy Abraham (£7.9m) starts up-front and is flanked by Callum Hudson-Odoi (£5.3m) and Willian (£7.2m).

There is also a third consecutive start at right-back for Reece James (£5.0m), while Andreas Christensen (£4.9m) and Antonio Rüdiger (£6.0m) are chosen at centre-back.

Newcastle are boosted by a return to fitness for winger Allan Saint-Maximin (£5.4m) who starts in a four-man midfield on the opposite flank to Miguel Almirón (£5.8m).

Newcastle United XI: Dúbravka; Willems, Fernández, Lascelles, Clark, Krafth; Almirón, Shelvey, Hayden, Saint-Maximin; Joelinton.

Chelsea XI: Kepa; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rüdiger, R James; Mount, Jorginho, Kanté; Hudson-Odoi, Abraham, Willian.

Before gameweek 22 I had to decide between

    A) Aguero (C) + Traore for two weeks
    B) Sterling (C) + DCL for two weeks

Should have went with my guts instead of listening to to all the "aguero is a rotation risk" bs. Effectively cost me over 60 pts (have not done the math) . Can only blame my self though. Spending to much time on this site makes one 2nd guess every decision you make. No more.

In FPL, going against your gut is the worst thing you can do. If you go with your gut and it fails, you can say you tried, cause it's just a game. In June/July, FPL will be the last worry on your mind

      Cliff notes:

FPL is a game where 50:50 decisions which have similar expected points can have huge differences in actual points

That’s the game - within the lows you wouldn’t enjoy the highs as much when things like this go in your favour

What a dire afternoon. Only crumb of comfort is captaining Mane over Ings and KDB. Sold Jimenez for Ings. Just typical. Held off Ings for so long and the minute I bring him in, he blanks. Frustrating game.

Same here. I was captaining Aguero every game early on in the season (Norwich, Watford) and he was blanking, getting benched and returning 6 pointers, now he's on fire. This game is pretty much all luck.
