FFS Cup

The latest FFS Cup fixtures and results

Gameweek 26 will see the finals of both the FFS Members Cup and the FFS Cup take place.

We’ve got the full details of which Fantasy Football Scout users will be taking part below.

FFS CUP

The final of our first 2019/20 FFS Cup will be contested between AMEY and Philman.

The two managers are each ranked between the 20k-30k mark and both played their second Wildcards in Gameweek 25.

AMEY saw off Mataatti, our highest-ranked manager in the FFS Cup semi-finals, by 78 points to 69 at the weekend.

Philman defeated stamfordbridge 72-64 in our other last-four clash.

Mataatti and stamfordbridge will now contest the third/fourth-place play-off in Gameweek 26.

As for AMEY and Philman, there may not be much to separate them in the final.

Ten of their 15-man Wildcard squads were identical, while their team values are exactly the same when money in the bank is factored in (£105.7m).

Philman went slightly bigger at the back, while AMEY has plumped for three sub-£4.5m defenders and gone with Son Heung-min (£10.0m) in midfield.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.8m) and Jamie Vardy (£9.8m) are the big differences up top.

FFS MEMBERS CUP

The final of the 2019/20 FFS Members Cup will be contested by Just-In-Cider and Pep Pig.

Both managers sit inside the top 10k and are separated by just 345 places in FPL.

They come into Gameweek 26’s final off the back of five successive green arrows, having each been outside the top 100,000 at the turn of the year.

The second Wildcards remain intact in both cases, too.

Just-In-Cider beat Becker Call Saul 64-53 in Gameweek 25, with the losing semi-finalist having dropped out of the top 1k in the process.

Pep Pig defeated maxp1907 76-73, meanwhile.

Our two vanquished managers will now contest the third/fourth-place play-off in Gameweek 26.

The two finalists share only six players ahead of this Saturday’s deadline, with Just-In-Cider having considerably more money to play with (£106.4m v £103.8m).

    1) Would you sell Vardy, Mane or Martial this week? (Any?)
    2) Would you sell Kelly for Taylor (BUR def) and start him over Rico?

    Salah Mane* KDB Martial (Hayden)
    Vardy Ings DCL

I can afford that with 0.1m spare, yep.

Worth it though? Could still see Mahrez being rotated despite Sterling out. and he blanks soon

As we approach the end of the season I worry that we may have to look past players from teams that have nothing to play for.

Liverpool are surely locked on the title now and will focus on winning the UCL once the title is confirmed - probably around GW31.
Norwich are surely relegated, I can't see them surviving.
Everton, Saints, and Palace look comfortably midtable and I can't see them making a push for Europe. I think Arsenal still could though.
I wouldn't say City are assured of top 4 especially after the loss to Spurs - they may have to up their game a bit towards the end of the season if they want to cement their place.

All other teams are either in a race for European places or a relegation battle, so we can definitely target those teams.

Don’t think Palace are safely mid table if you look at points tallies as opposed to positions. Brighton very nearly pulled off relegation from this position last time out - horrid run in so need points in next 5/6

Also I see nothing in Klopp’s record to suppose he’ll ease off. This is his chance to set unbeatable records and Mane and Salah will certainly be fighting for the golden boot. Most likely scenario is more of the same from Liverpool

probably yes looking the teams at how big the blank maybe

Your Free Hit should be judged on how many points you get over the average of where your OR sits, not necessarily your leave existing team. Had you not free hit you might have taken the odd hit and even beaten your score, you never really know what you would have done

We can't be certain of that until after GW31. And the calculation of whether you lost or gained by playing your Free Hit in a different game-week is not quite as simple as it might appear at first sight.

You might have got luckier than most, but it is not unusual to hear about managers who played their Free Hit in a normal game-week getting fewer points than their old team that game-week, whereas those who play it in a blank game-week such as GW31 nearly always profit from it.

Can you be certain that your Free Hit really did gain you 30 points when you played it anyway? Perhaps you could have gained some of those extra points by using transfers (and possibly the odd hit), instead of the Free Hit, to bring in some of the players that scored best for you that game-week, especially if they were players that would also be likely to score well in other game-weeks.

If you don't take any hits in GW31, or make any transfers specifically to replace good players with ones that happen to have a match in GW31, and your points lost in GW31 by not playing your Free Hit then are less than those gained in the other game-week when you did play your Free Hit, then you may end up in profit - but it was still a risk that prospered against the odds.

If however you do use transfers to replace some good players with less good ones that happen to have a match in GW31, then you also have to factor in any damage that this might cause in other game-weeks before and after GW31.

Hadn’t realised he was on pens. I’d be put off slightly by that potential RB role. Think I read somewhere that Ralph said KWP would need time to acclimatise. Maybe a one off. Interesting call anyway - suspect Southampton attacking returns will start to be divided more equally

Winning mentality is what keeps him going, pretty much same as Real Ronaldo. I guess CR7 will be similar.

But sad thing about this is that their will come a time he wont be able to do that anymore no matter how hard he try and that breaks you from inside.

Charlie Taylor at 4.2m for Burnley a good option to replace Kelly?

Decent fixtures, nailed now. Don't know about attacking threat but *shrugs*.

Current defence of TAA Lascelles Lundstram Rico Kelly - Lunsdtram will make way if he misses out again

On WC but struggling with my front 8, any thoughts? Not that keen on Kun but if he goes nuts against WHU would be kicking myself:

      A) Jorg Traore KDB Salah Hayden
      Kun Vardy Ings

      OR is this better?

      B) Rich Grealish KDB Salah Hayden
      Jimi Vardy Ings

      Thanks

GTG? or shall I take a hit to bring in Stephens or Lascelles for Lundy?
      Ryan (Button)
      LUNDY, Gomez, TAA (Kelly, Targett)
Salah, .Son (c) Fleck, Grealish (Martial)
      Ings, Aguero, Calvert-Lewin

have the money for Vardy to Kun, think Kun would only be in for 1-2 weeks but this west ham fixture seems to perfect for him! missed his hauls last year playing it safe and it was season defining!

        VVD. Has more points, cheaper.

        Sorting by form:

        Allison £6.1 - 7.8

        Vvd £6.5 - 7.0

        Robbo £7.0 - 5.0

VVD goal threat seemingly greater than Robbo's drying assist threat

Last night's results were disappointing - from a FPL perspective
We could end up with just the 3 fixtures with the 3rd one being the unattractive Norwich v Everton

If I look at gw34 the blanks are those team in the FA cup SF ... so that can only be 4 teams which means 6 non-blanks (???)
We also have the possibility of midweek games in gw34 ... so e.g. SHU might miss the match v MUN but then have a midweek vs Villa

As such I am now leaning towards a FH for gw31 and possibly use my WC for gw34 and then focus on gathering the additional players required for gw37

Got both BB and TC to play with too - so the specifics will depend on who gets what dgw and when

        Norwich Everton could be highscoring...

that’s about right ... those that are not using FH in 31 will have two choices

1 ignore 31 and just take what ever their team has by way of players
2 mess up their team in the weeks building up to 31 in trying to field 9 or 10 players

I'm going with option 2. Will try to roll a transfer till GW31 and then do a triple transfer for 4pts. WC33 and BB34.

typically I would be loading my bench from now with those that start in 31, and my a few of my starting 11.

Problem I had in the past is rotation and injury in the build up depleting my team even more

I thought about that option but when you look at the teams that are known to be playing and then their fixture in gw 30 or 29, then a slow build up does not look so appealing

Son - think there are better value forwards whereas scoring midfielders are a bit scarce

I'd far prefer to be giving up someone in midfield to have Son than to give up one on my 3 forward slots to Auba

      Are either worth a FT?
      A. Martial to Mahrez (then someone else in 28).
      B. Auba to Kun (c) then Jimenez.

I appreciate they are very short term.

      Best option?
      A) Firmino O,Connell
      B) Jiménez VVD

Seems kind of close, considering Firmino great recent stats and not which West gam next, same with Sheffield. But B may be safer.

      1) Haller -> Ings?

      2) Or save, bench Haller and play Taylor? Will give the advantage of 2 FTs. Burnley been more resistant and finding some form lately.

      A. Soyuncu to Vvd
      B. Kelly to Gomez
      C. Ryan and Kelly to Vvd and McCarthy/Pope (-4)

C is due to an ongoing irrational hatred. Ryan owners understand.
