What impact will Rose’s arrival at Newcastle have on FPL?

The arrival of Danny Rose (£5.3m) at Newcastle United has added a new dimension to the options at St. James’ Park.

The former Spurs left-back joins Steve Bruce’s squad with plenty of Premier League and European experience, which bodes well for the Magpies.

However, it is unclear at this point whether or not Rose will have any impact on the Fantasy Premier League scene.

That’s what we hope to achieve by assessing what he achieved at Spurs in the first half of the campaign and taking an early look at Rose’s initial contributions to Newcastle.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those signed up for the 2019/20 season either as a full or half-season package, or monthly members, can access it in full.

          Your projected transfers should gain back that -4 over the next 5 or 6 weeks. I'd go for it. My team is not dissimilar and I'm certainly not WC'ing this week.

      Because he hasnt shown any promise to actually score goals, which means there are better midfield picks (those who score goals themselves)

      Does feel like he's being built up into something he's probably not (yet).

      I can't believe I just said that...

      I think he's been good as a player for United in 2 matches, but in terms of FPL not so sure just yet. Most set pieces is nice (pens remains to be seen), and the combo with Maguire could happen a few more times.

      But I'd like to see him get forward more and into the box.

      Just not sure how much I'd trust the other players around him at the moment

        Agreed. Excellent player, but the other attacking players around him are going to severely stunt his output. Rashford and Pogba are huge losses in that attack. Who else is at Premier League standard? James, Andreas, Lingard aren't good enough for the first team, and Martial is inconsistent. Greenwood has potential but isn't playing. Without Rashford and Pogba, I can't see where the quality is to support him.

        Rookie error alert. Took a 4 pt hit to get in Son (pre injury) and Boly, now torn whether I turn it into an 8pt hit to switch Son to Richarlson or play Wildcard.

        Wildcard would involve about 5 further transfers, but only in positions like backup keeper, removing kelly as last defender, replacing midfield bench fodder etc.

        Generally happy with team other than the bench fodder so don't feel I need a WC, but an 8pt hit for Richarlson and Boly?

          During this extremely long gw with also CL and Europa-league it's definitely best to wait till fri-sat before any transfers, but I'm rolling this gw, have 4 players that don't play gw 28 so want 2 FT in gw 28

            I never really understand the hesitancy around Auba. His goal scoring record is fantastic.
            DCLs fixtures have we wanting him out asap.

        With champs league slightly at risk now for Liverpool I think they may take the Chelsea cup game more seriously. As a consequence can see Watford and especially Bournemouth games with rotation risk ....
