Scoutcast tackles De Bruyne conundrum as Chelsea find form

The Scoutcast is back to discuss all of the key talking points ahead of Gameweek 30.

You can watch the show on our YouTube channel between 20:00 GMT and 21:00 GMT.

Firstly, we’ll discuss what to do with Kevin De Bruyne (£10.6m), who missed Sunday’s Manchester derby and is still a doubt for Arsenal’s trip to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.

Then, Chelsea are the team to go under the microscope as they build some good form ahead of some favourable fixtures.

Finally, we continue to work on our advanced planning for Blank Gameweek 31 now that we have a greater idea about the fixtures and which players we may want – or not!

We will also consider the potential effect of Coronavirus on the Premier League, and, therefore, our Fantasy teams.

Have to feel for the guys fighting it out for the prize of being fpl champ.

Being up there is stressful enough without dealing with the permutations of this calamity.

Knocking me sick seeing everyone complaining about they're FPL teams in such a serious moment in human history. This is already based on graphs, going to be the greatest pandemic known to man. The season won't even finish so who cares about this one week lol?

No, it's due to the close contact between Arsenal players and the Olympiakos players / owner.

Unless an Arsenal player / staff member is tested positive, there's nothing new here for the other PL teams.

They tested all the players and all were clear though they said on bbc radio earlier.

WHO / UK protocol, I can't remember which. If you're in close contact with someone that's confirmed infected you're asked to self-quarantine for 14 days regardless.

(It's only a section of the team I believe, not all of them)

The problem is quarantine time, which is 14 days. They cannot test before there are symptoms imo.

Or self isolation time... Could be that some of the staff are in risk for self isolation though.

Any person who has had close contact with the infected person can have tests I think. Not sure about UK but that’s about true everywhere else. Also, doesn’t need to show symptoms because the virus can transmit before any symptoms are shown.

A wise decision by the premier league..prioritising the safety of the public over 90min of football. The main thing now is the safety of all members of Arsenal FC involved including team captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.

Depends on who's in the league. FPL law is not legally binding....

What about championship matches? You know that he is also owner of Nottigham Forest..don't you?

Depends who he was in contact with recently.

Think he did meet the players not too long ago - saw a tweet earlier iirc - so wouldn't be expecting a game if I was a Forest fan. We'll see, nothing official yet.

Wolves asked UEFA to postpone, UEFA declined. Not sure what happens now.

Am I bonkers for considering Henderson away to Newcastle for Captain?

      Nothing else is inspiring

Think it's a wait and see. What happens over next few days before making any decisions.

True. It's gonna be a very interesting situation over the next months for all major sports events.

The Arsenal press release is confusing. It says a "number of players" met with the Olympiacos owner and will be quarantined for 14 days but that the team is preparing for the Brighton match. So apparently Arsenal has enough players to play Brighton but not Man City? I guess maybe it was felt it would be unfair for Arsenal to prepare for the match without the players at such short notice? But wouldn't those players themselves have had contact with the rest of the team at practice? So how can any of them play?

Thursday would be 2 weeks after contact, so the Saturday afterwards would be no quarantine and hence everyone would be available.

Only individuals in direct contact with an infected individual would have to self-quarantine. The odds of some sort of undetected secondary transmission is incredibly low.

The players are in contact with each other at training though.

The players have not positively tested as infected, and are highly unlikely to be at this stage.

Only contact with an individual confirmed as infected requires this self-quarantine, so being near your not infected teammate doesn't matter as long as he doesn't test positive during his quarantine period.

Are you sure this is true? If it were then wouldn't there be none of the worldwide quarantining going on at all?
