Update on FFScout Memberships

In light of the Premier League’s recent announcement, Fantasy Football Scout would like to clarify the situation for our existing members.

The Premier League is now suspended until April 4, which means all Gameweek 30 and 31 fixtures have been postponed.

That, in turn, means there are no more matches of Fantasy relevance in the month of March.

While our Members’ tools remain open to use, and strategy-based articles will continue to be posted behind the paywall, we appreciate that, even as we all look forward to the return of the league, there is no immediate Gameweek to prepare for.

We would encourage you not to cancel your Scout membership as, once you do, you will immediately lose the benefits of access to the Members Area, data, tools and any articles we produce behind the paywall.

Instead, if you signed up for a rolling monthly subscription that has missed (or will in the future miss) a Gameweek due to the Premier League suspension, we are happy to offer a cancellation and partial refund for the relevant period. If so, get in touch with support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Naturally, should further postponements occur in the Premier League, beyond April 4, then this policy will continue for that period, so you won’t be paying for Gameweeks that you miss.

What to do if you think you might have coronavirus*

If you think you might have coronavirus or you’ve been in close contact with someone who has it:

  • stay at home and avoid close contact with other people
  • do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital
  • use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service to find out what to do next

The 111 coronavirus service will tell you if you need to continue to stay at home (self-isolate) or if you need medical help.

I'm not an expert but think its pretty safe to assume that the worst is yet come in terms of number of infections.
Could we have 4 months without footie ? Should this season be a write off acros Europe ?

Will miss it but looking at the bigger picture it isnt really that important. Can always focus on other things - new job, catch up on housework, read few books...

If people have took hits this week, will the leagues still update later?. Someone taking a -4 above you could get overtaken.

After consecutive 30% daily increases, if it’s similar over the next few days, we I’ll not be seeing football until the end of the summer I’ve no doubt. The April date will definitely be out back in my opinion.

That's my view too, lower leagues clubs will really struggle financially without home games income.

I agree. Unfortunately in every walk of life, sport, business etc it will simply be survival of the fittest. Small clubs will go to the wall unless they are all given support somehow.

Still don’t know how the transfer situations work. Will the next game to be played be the GW30 game? If I use 2FT now, it will be for changes to be made to the GW30 squad right?

The next game is GW32, but will probably be postponed again.

GW30 and GW31 are essentially BGWs with everyone getting 0 points, transfers and chips count normally as always.

        This.

Imagine a normal blank gamewhere where say 3 teams are missing. GW 30 and 31 are blank gameweeks with 10 teams missing in both.

So just play the game the same as you would to work around blank gameweeks

FPL game is still running as normal so people need to make transfers or lose them. If the game is resumed at any point, even much later in the year, then it's not pointless.

Recommence this season in August, finish season in October, have Euros in Nov/Dec, then run season from January to October for next 2 seasons up to Qatar 2022. Then transition over the next seasons in time for USA 2026 to get back to regular calendar for 2026/27

Yes the pool season completely come off the rails this week, and personally feel the PL will have to declare the season void ie no promotion or relegation etc.

It only a sport but the amount of work that goes into trying to achieve your dreams to have it taken away must be a huge dissapointment, and a morale sapping experience for all concerned.

So is the key over the next two GWs not to lose any FTs? I have one FT this week so I guess it will roll into next week so I should use one or two next week so as not to lose them?

    1. Old Man

Just use enough FT to ensure that have at least one (but preferably two) free transfer going into GW31. It's all likely to be a waste of time because it looks like the season might be cut short. Nevertheless, it would be silly not to prepare for GW31..

      1. Jet5605
        • 9 Years
        4 years, 15 days ago

Ok thanks. I have one FT in this GW30 and so I'll just let it roll into 31 and we might know more about the rest of the season by then.
I currently hold a seven point lead in my league thanks to Harvey Barnes and so if the season does get canned then I'll have him to thank.

So it is not easy to be prepared for the unknown. But I guess some extra money in the bank will make it easier to navigate potential future gameweeks this season.

This is the only valid argument I can come up with to justify any strategy... and then I guess I should just get a cheap non playing defender in?

    a. Aurier -> 3.9 million defender
    b. Aurier -> Williams (4.1 million)
    c. Aurier -> Basham (4.5 million)

    McCarthy
    TAA, Alonso, Doherty, Lascelles
    Salah, KDB, Grealish
    Ings, Jiménez, Aubameyang

    Martin, Aurier, Cantwell, Hayden
2 FT, 2,0 million in the bank

You’d want exactly the opposite strategy - select 15 players who are nailed on, as when/if games resume there maybe some postponements & double game weeks, so best to be as flexible as possible & select from as many teams as possible to spread the risk.

This season I've always stuck with 2 playing keepers but I may change that if all the good keepers from this season end up being 5.0

Personally I think there’s too much money involved for the season not to conclude. In principle I don’t see the problem with there being a break now then all players, essential club staff and officials being tested. Assuming the majority are negative then carry on behind closed doors and quarantine those who are infected. I know closed doors is the not the same but it is better than nothing. I have a season ticket for my team so I’m not just saying this as a casual fan who only ever watches on TV.

My plan for if they can't finish in time to start as normal next season. Promote 1 more team, so have odd numbers in each league. Then you play each team once, half of them at home, half away. Every team gets one week off to rest/ play abroad and spread diseases.

Then relegate 4 to get back to normal numbers.

Would be really frustrating for fantasy... every week is a blank!

    Corona's last two fixtures:

    Corona 3 vs Ebola 0
    Corona 4 vs Liverpool 1

Ebola need to be less aggressive - killing its own host too quickly to be any real threat.

I don’t see why all the teams can’t isolate for 2 weeks and then play behind closed doors - play every game on tv and streaming sites to cash in

Not when Arteta cannot coach his players.

He’d be fine in 2 weeks and plenty of other coaches to keep the team fit

You mean isolating together as a team or going to their homes and locking themselves up?

Whatever seems appropriate for each team - test everyone

Fit and healthy isolate but train

        Infected isolate to recovered

Ultimately for fit and healthy people it’s just a bad cold, right
