Voting open for Football Content Awards 2020

Voting is now open for the 2020 Football Content Awards and there are more Fantasy Football categories than ever before.

After introducing a Fantasy category for the 2019 edition, there are now three sub-categories this time around.

Under the umbrella of Fantasy content, you can now choose the best video, podcast and editorial providers.

You can cast your vote using this link from the Football Content Awards website: https://footballcontentawards.com/2020-voting/

We would be immensely grateful if you felt as if you wanted to choose Fantasy Football Scout as the best in any of the Fantasy categories.

The complete list of finalists will be released on April 13 with voting re-opening on the same date. The finalists round will close off on April 30 at 23:59 and the winners will be named and crowned on Thursday, May 21 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Ok speaking as if the prem will return for GW32, who are the players to bring in? Yes we know there's every chance it won't come back, but let's say it does...then who?

    DEF TAA, Cathcart, Stephens*
    MID Salah, KDB*, Mane, Saar
    FWD Auba, Ings*, Jiminez

    Subs Barnes, Saiss, Williams*

That's my GW32 limeup, but before then I want the players with * out.

    Stephens to Alonso

KDB to Fernandes (City have no interest in the league)

    Ings to Giroud/DCL/Pukey

Williams to a max 4.5 - probably a sheff utd.

I have 0 in bank so will start with the striker move this gw (I'll have 2 frees)

    Fancy Giroud tbh

Most have disappeared over the years. Optimus (Grime) and Jafooli probably the two who have stood the test of time.

Back in the day there were some cracking posters, Applebonkers was a hoot before he got old, boring and Twittery. Loads who have long gone likes of Attila the Bum, the Chewbacca guy and some of my favourites (some still appear on here) Demented Flamingo, DamoFitz, Locarno, Epic, Holy See, RCA, Yer old man, Anorak, JohnTerrysDog, (This list should be longer but some already mentioned..WR etc.
Other weird but funny included Goodfish, and the guy with the Marquee Moon who had too many vices to mention.

          Hahaha.
Got me thinking back to original Mods/contributors. Sir paulos was my favourite probably who I think just goes by the name of Paul now. There was I'm not Marshall Foch,Pure Olivia, Andy (the original), Greek fan, Akers who was a feral Manu fan who I'd say would be equivalent of one of the current trolls 🙂 and really annoying. Granville was good value and Marks pre-gameweek write up was always great.

Granville is the best scout. He added character. Oh i remember Marshall Foch actually and the original Andy. Things starting to come back now, maybe i do remember. Me and Akers did not get on that's why i remember him..he was full of himself and his Scholes grav was one of them annoying gravs. A grav is a powerful thing, not to be sniffed at

Atilla had Atilla the Hun, Holy See various religious icons like Jesus, Chin Music had Aussie cricket Capt Ricky Ponting, Katie (Lol) Locarno was a Charlton fan with Gemma Atkinson grav, Voronin was Liverpool player of same name, Soup was Top Cat, Chrissy had this weird grav that was a mix of Modrich and Gail from Corrie and AP was Alan Partridge in a red jacket, often with Cantona’s face photoshopped in.

Atilla was one of my favourites and as for RBJ that man was a complete legend for so many reasons.

Jamiesp didn't he coin the phrase "Lolarov"

Thats tricky because we dont know when (if ever) we will continue this season. Is it GW32 or maybe GW34 etc. so its not easy to pick players that we want.
I hope we will get some info tomorrow on emergency meeting but wait till deadline anyway.

I have 2 FT but will try to roll one as it may be needed later. Best idea is to sell non starters/injured players so Im looking to sell Williams. Also thinking about selling Ings > DCL.
If I decide to use 2FT I will get Fernandes but not sure I want to use both FT.

AFL have cut back playing time for the new season, in case they get the chance to jam some games in. Normally four 20min quarters, this season four @ 16mins.

Can't see it happening but 30mins each way would lighten the load for the EPL.

It is a no win situation with the schools.

If they closed them too early then vital health care workers may not be able to report for duty as they may need to stay home and mind the kids. These last few days will give those people time to make arrangements.

I am sure every government has the best interests of their people at heart.Tough decisions will have to be made by lots of people and mistakes will be made but this is not the time for division and we all have to get behind whatever team we have now for the greater good.

          Understand your sentiment.

My advice to anyone in the UK would be to be one or two steps ahead of the government.

Which is not difficult, as you can see the (reliable, credible) critics as well as other countries (even UK such as Sotland and Wales, let alone continental Europe) who are imposing measures beforehand.

The I expect the proper lockdown to be announced from / after this weekend. Should be earlier, but unlikely with dithering decision makers.

Well done, can't rely on anyone but yourself to look after your own family.

It is scary, I am worried but being somewhat prepared gives some comfort for now.

If Chris Martin can do an impromptu concert to entertain us all while we are trapped in our homes, surely FFS can pump some proper FPL content out to distract us and to think about something other than this ruddy virus.

Personnally I dont think we will have any football for a longer while - and even if we do we dont know what the format would be like so a lot of guessing there for writers.

Without official decisions seems bit pointless.

To relieve the boredom & stop worrying about the news I've just watched probably the greatest F.A.Cup tie Hereford v Newcastle when shorts were short & the pitch was mud here's the link
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1i7XUmCGcg
Which made me wonder what was the best game anyone has seen live
Mine would be Rangers 4 Celtic 4 back in 86 my wife's cousin was a Celtic fan & took me to the game .
After about 45 seconds the Celtic end went crazy & I got knocked off my seat, I said what's happened he said we've just won the 1st throw-in !!
    Crazy game

Most of the best games I've seen have been Football league play off semi finals (particularly Leagues One and the Championship) plus knockout stages of the Champions League. There's something about a two legged affair, with or without the away goal factor.

I'm not a great fan of 2 legged games as they tend to follow the pattern of score away & don't concede at home where away goals count double. However as an Everton fan I was fortunate to attend probably the best game ever played at Goodison Park Everton 3 Bayern Munich 1 Cup Winners Cup Semi Final 1985 .Drew 0-0 away & went 1 down at half time but with 50,000 fans & probably only 500 away fans we turned it around in the second half

Interesting. I'm just starting to get into my football history and Everton's popped up a few times (Dixie Dean of course).

But my main recent takeaways are that Everton were a serious force during the 80s that's rarely mentioned due to the obsession with the Premier League era.

Everton are the longest serving top tier side in England. Only four seasons spent outside of it I believe

      Two for me.

When Blackburn won the prem at Anfield. That was a perfect storm, Liverpool won, Blackburn won the title, and United didn’t....oh....and King Kenny was elevated to a god for a day. Fantastic.

The other was Blackburn vs Plymouth in 1974/75.....lst and 2nd in the old division three...Plymouth led 2-0 at half time then Rovers went on to win 5-2...that’s the favourite game of many a Rovers fan.

One thing I try to emphasis to people for them to comprehend...

This thing we know as association football with it's leagues, rules, points and so on is an incredibly modern phenomenon in its entirety. 4.5 billion years of earth and yet football has been a thing for 150 years. Mind boggling!

There's so much I don't know that I'm starting to get a grasp on...

-was all about the cup, as you say
          -Englishmen played as individual dribblers
-the more malnourished Scots knew they'd have to play pass n move (Scotsh tiki taka)

I was Lucky enough to grow up in the area that had Blackburn Olympic as it’s local team..and even luckier that these stories were told me as a young lad. It was a major thing in that part of Lancashire.

The theme of Blackburn being very much in the vanguard of football continued with Lawrence Cotton Story as rich benefactor from the towns industry...coincidentally...Cotton. He took ownership, rebuilt the ground and threw whatever money was needed at Blackburn Rovers to bring the title to Ewood (sorry Jack, you wasn’t the first at Blackburn)....

I loved all these stories as a lad....and well done to Netflix...

I missed the opportunity by leaving it too long. It actually closed in 2010 and moved to Manchester in 2012

British football has its issues with one major final in England's history and Scotland's failure to reach a major tournament in 22 years.

But our pyramids? They are an infinite source of interest to be cherished.

It's not much consolation to Bury even if they get the phoenix club back up and running BUT Bury will never die. From a Mitchell and Kenyon film v Sheff Utd's Fatty Foulke in 1903 to surviving ahead of Man City in the second tier in 1998... they are every bit a part of this wonderful history and shall remain forever so

Good post. I often comment on these pages about good clubs, and that’s because I know some of the history of the game more than some other folk. You can’t remove that history...and in my eyes they remain as the important clubs they were, and are.

Football has a fantastic history once you get past just the prem...

      Nice links.

The big difference between Blackburn and the midlands clubs was the demise of the Cotton trade.

Blackburn suffered terribly in the Cotton famine and other subsequent depressions in that industry. I suspect the series will concentrate on that aspect. Those Northern clubs, and in paticular the Blackburn clubs started from a very low level....it was a miracle that any of those teams managed to muscle in on the new leagues being formed. They really were seen as the thugs and the great unwashed from the North...even by the midlands clubs.
