Commission an FFS article

We are giving Fantasy Football Scout readers the chance to have a say in our upcoming content schedule.

These are unprecedented times as the Premier League season has been suspended until the end of April at the earliest owing to an outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the United Kingdom.

That has left many football fans and Fantasy managers twiddling their thumbs looking for something to distract them while Premier League balls go unkicked for an indefinite period.

For that reason, we want to know what you’d like to read about during the interim.

We will continue to examine the latest transfer trends despite no football being played, as well as looking at some features of the Members Area and bringing you all the latest news relevant to the Premier League.

But we want to make sure we are covering every possible angle, and to do that, we’d like to hear from you.

Please enter your details into the Google Form below and let us know what you’d like to read about!

Who is that writing the article in the picture

They have a lot of bling on (even the cufflinks look like they could be fairly snazzy)

They also seem to have lacerated their left index finger - in some sort of accident perhaps? I'm guessing chopping vegetables in the kitchen, or maybe gardening

But equally, the way they are dressed they don't strike me as someone particularly into preparing their own food or looking after their own garden - maybe in some type of struggle with a murder victim??

      cut solution...

looks rather reminiscent of a cut i had in 2013 when at the commencement of summer as was adjusting and sharpening my mower and as a sideshow to this nicked my same finger on a stanley knife whilst going in my toolbox for the sharpening stone, nothing more sinister than that M B P ,i hope this goes some way to easing your fears regarding the scource of this injury...

not saying this is what happened to this guy ,but it does look eerily similar ,as for what he is writing, more evidence, as once i was sitting next to someone at work, took a peek, and discovered it was a rough draft for an advert on e bay which he was composing for his wife pertaining to selling her second hand saucepans because they had redecorated their kitchen and they no longer matched the new decor ,again not saying thats whats happening here ,but feel you are very concerned M B P over something that may well be very trivial.

When I was 10 I sliced the top of my thumb in half whilst making a cheese sandwich.

The funny part is that it was on new years eve, so I spent a very enjoyable NYE in A&E among a bunch of very drunk people who all had similar drinking related misfortunes.

          I did not.

I was using the knife to open the packet, you know when you get that cheese that is shrink wrapped, I was cutting through the wrapping when it happened, blood everywhere, making the sandwich was far from my mind.

As you asked what article we want read I think there isnt many things that people want to read FPL related atm cuz there are too many unknowns like when (if) will football return, how it will loook like, what game will be played, are there gonna be DGW etc etc etc.
So if we dont know when football will return so for all of us FPL managers its just like not ending international break torture. I think we must find something to focus on and have some fun. Number of people who logg in here is really low and ist gonna be even lower every day.

My idea/question is: Is it possible to run eFantasy Premier League here? For example games could be played (more watched) on FIFA 2020 (or any other football game) where all games are played by computer (no human game playing skills involved).

I know it sounds crazy but many of us are really bored and even for you it is time where you dont have ideas for new posts here.
You could try to write atrticle and find out how many people would be interested as I know few people who would defo play.

There are few things that need to be discussed but games could be shown on YT (people can watch it full or just check the result).
Than we can make an app or simply use excel to pick team, make transfers, count points etc (that would be perfect!) or just use FPL site. Using FPL would be more difficult as someone must count points somewhere plus before GW starts managers must pick their teams and post it somewhere but it can be done too as many of us have plenty of time.

Rules would be almost same as in FPL but no price changes and no bonus points to make things easier. GW can be every day or every 2-3 days or just during weekend - that is open thing to discuss.

So @mods. Can you just try to think about that idea please? Could you think about how this could be done and is it possible for you to run it?

    Thanks!

But many other people need something to occupy their time. What's so outrageous about that something being FPL? No one is trying to trivialise what is happening right now. We just want something to do while we're forced to stay at home. If you are too busy to read articles and post on here, Annie, then that's absolutely fine. There's no obligation.

You obviously haven't been keeping up with events. The premier league have said that the season will be "extended indefinitely" to get the remaining games played. You're looking at a rammed 3 week window of behind closed door games for the remaining 9 gameweeks. Those of us who have planned and prepared for this will have a big advantage.

The most likely scenario is that the remaining games will be played as quickly as possible behind closed doors for people to watch at home. The general public also crave the normality of having football on the gogglebox once again. It would be good for the country's morale.

I agree, although watching games behind closed doors, whilst being better than nothing is hardly 'normality'.

Not sure there is a most likely scenario here.

How anyone can really plan for anything when the possibilities of the PL season are almost endless, everything from null and void, to FIFA simulated games has been suggested.

I guess if you believe one of those possible scenarios is going to happen you can plan towards it, but prepare to be very disappointed.

Yeah. Absolutely anything could happen. I do think 9 gameweeks in 3 weeks is the most likely scenario though.

God, it would give the country such a lift to have one simple game of footy on the box.

Sky could charge me £100, or in today's money, 2 rolls of toilet paper, for a weekend pass to watch Burnley v Newcastle and I'd still happily pay it.

Joking aside, the 9 games in 3 weeks doesn't seem anymore, or less, realistic than the many other possibilities discussed, we simply don't know, and further more, we don't know how FPL will process it, if football doesn't resume until after GW38, does that mean all the remaining games are played in one FPL week? As far as I can tell, no one knows.

Saying you planned and prepared for this is up there with the most cretinous posts you have ever made, quite an achievement. People kept the wc and bb for a dgw and will likely end up hitting the jackpot in a multi gw 38.

I think you should use your free transfers now to bring in central defenders and Talisman players. Players who are more likely to play 3 times a week for 3 weeks.

I would also target players from teams with 10 fixtures, not 9.

That's all I'm saying with regards to planning and preparing.

It's irrelevant. People who wc in 37 and bb in 38 will have a ridiculous advantage and it would kill the game. Besides, there are few players worth having who have 10 games, City are too expensive and will be rotated, Arsenal are very patchy, everyone will have Aubameyang and who the hell wants anyone from Villa? Shef U defs are hardly going to get the juices flowing.

From Villa, you would have to go for their Talisman - Jack the lad - and no one else. But you're absolutely right, you need to target players from teams with something to play for ... European places or relegation.

I like Poker Stars more than Party Poker and 888 - the interface is much easier on the eye (imo) & a little faster

But as Jordan says - unless you're using a HUD, you're very likely going to get cleaned out playing Sit & Go's

Micro stakes tournaments are high enough variance that you can have good fun though, and you're only risking miniscule $ - with the chance of some decent payouts if you can make the bubble or even get towards the final few tables

But its still not like the Halycon days of ten year ago

Your idea of setting up games with friends online is probably better

I am not entirely sure how to set it up as a mate does it for us but in pokerstars on the right side of the lobby window you will see an option for "homegames" and it can be set up there.

Me and my mates have moved our weekly poker game there as a social distancing measure and although it is still nice to play them there it is nowhere near as good as the live game.

Just remember not to lose the run of yourself and gamble responsibly please.

Seriously FFS, have a look at the last few days and look at who's posting.
It's mostly the old-timers, you know , the ones the with the bigger numbers after our names. Even some of the others are old-timers with new accounts.
So what does that tell you?
Maybe that we did and still do come on here for a discussion rather than the multitudes that have come this way recently with their spam spam spam, rmt rmt rmt.
So can you tell me why your pandering to one of them and not only that. possibly the worst of the spammers, one that looks to fawn over every mod one minute then throws their dummy out the pram next?

Bit out of the loop here but what is the issue here?

We've asked for ideas for articles people would like to see. If you're not interested you can carry on your business, if you are submit an idea and see what happens.

If people don't want to read the content because there's more important things going on, they aren't forced to, if they want to they can.

What's the issue, feels like I've missed something.

Hated but respected, my unconventional methods get FFS to highest levels of FPL content production and keep it there.

There are lots of sites chasing the same FPL dollar so you can't let standards slip. Mark understood that, which is why he used to work so damn hard to keep FFS as the web's number 1 FPL resource.

As always - never going to discuss things that go on behind the scenes, you already know that so I can't really go into what is and isn't done about anyone to be honest.

but for those 2 posts - one was responded to. And one was asking for more content for which we already had plans anyway.

There's plenty of space below articles to have a discussion, just need to be started.

Neither post was derailing another discussion.

I often accidentally hit the 'post' button on my mobile too. The mobile UX on the website is very dated. Even Neale just did a reply fail. And when "reply fail" is universally understood language on a website, you know there is an issue.

Google have switched completely over to mobile first indexing now. If the website doesn't up its game, it's rankings and organic traffic will really suffer.

"You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you WANT me on that wall - you NEED me on that wall.

We use words like "honor," "code," "loyalty." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it."

    Sublime writing. Incredible film.

An Irishman and an Englishman wall into a Bakery.
The Englishman steals 3 buns, putts them into his pockets, then leaves. He says to the Irishman “that took great skill and guile to steal those buns, the guy didn’t even see me”
The Irishman replied “that’s just simple thievery, I’ll show you how to do it the honest way and get the same results”
The Irishman then proceeds to call out the owner of the bakery and says “sir, I want to show you a magic trick”. The ow net was intrigued and came over to see the magic trick.
The Irishman asked for a bun and then proceeded to eat it. He asked 2 more times and after eating those the owner says “ okay my friend, where’s the magic trick?”
The Irishman then says “ look in the Englishman’s pockets”....

      Will be a tough one.

Obviously those winning will want paying out.

If it was cancelled I'd say null and void it potentially, or just maybe do 50% of entry fees back to those that entered, and 50% paid as winnings?

not sure there's a way you'd please everyone.

Definitely need to get that written in to future season league rules though πŸ˜‰

I guess it also depends in FPL class it as a finished season and include it in our histories. If it's voided out of our histories then by default that probably means a complete void in payouts too and give everyone a refund instead.

I hope ours gets paid out, not least because I'm top by a decent margin, but because manager of the month has been paid out all the way so far, so IMO they can't just refund what's left of the entry pot.

Don't really know yet,it could get messy for some leagues.

Some leagues are quite large and have already paid out for manager of the month prizes so could be a nightmare to please everyone in this situation, there is always at least one that will be upset.

Best just leave it to the good judgement of any league admin you are involved with and go with their decision whatever it may be.

I kind of get the feeling none of this will matter to most people in 3 months time, though.

So footballers, movie stars, sports men/women earning ridiculous amounts of money. The fans go and support these people week in and week out, when the time of need comes they go silent.

The football associations, the big corporate companies like Sky.

There are a few which have come out and said they would help publicly, Zaha, Amir Khan, Watford providing access to their stadium, a few Neville/Carragher and a few others in the UK. Formula 1 teams have been helping with creating ventilators. But the majority are silent.

For me this greed really turns me off what was once the beautiful game, in a time of crisis i'd have like to have seen these people trying to support their local communities, the country. Clubs/players/associations taking action. I am saddened to see a lack of people willing to step up from a financial perspective. The money the premier league makes/earns through sponsorship/TV deals is disgusting as it is but then not really taking action to help?

This also applies to musicians and others in the entertainment realm with enormous salaries.

There is still time, maybe they will come forward? If they don't it just makes you think do you really want to support these people after they went silent when the time of need came.

Just because someone is silent does not mean they are doing nothing. Andy Robertson does not make a public fuss of what he does but is known to be very generous in his charitable giving.

Exactly. Tbh people who give amounts to charity that while substantial are like pennies to most of us then make a big publicity thing about it are not the real good guys.

Could argue this at any time, about any number of communities throughout countless times of hardship - not just situations that turn up on your own doorstep.

I thought I copied and pasted it, but I forgot to do the copy part, (very important, that bit) so had to go from memory.

Unless the world pressures China to ban their evil and disgusting wildlife meat markets, its just a matter of time before there is another virus outbreak.

How can they watch an anteater be slaughtered and then eat it?
