    Which option do you prefer?

    1) Project Restart.

    2) Curtailment - table ends as it is with PPG to even out games. Title, Europe and relegation all awarded.

    3) Curtailment v2 - table ends as it is with PPG to even out games. No relegation, no promotion.

    4) Head to head play offs between teams battling for CL, EL and relegation, thus only 'necessary games'.

    5) 22 team PL next season and 5 teams get relegated.

Some will prefer this but it's not an option given that UEFA have stated entries to their competitions are based on 19/20 sporting merit.

Belgian, Dutch and French leagues have all curtailed, in one way or another.

The perfect time for the big leagues to say screw UEFA and create their own super league.

I could see that happening alright EF.

It is going to happen at some stage anyway so maybe this situation will be the catalyst.

I think you are actually wrong in your understanding of the UEFA position. Yes they have stated that entries to their competitions are based on 19/20 sporting merit and what this means is if the season is curtailed or scrapped they will award the places to the teams who are currently in the qualifying places.

Ppg is a load of crap. Some teams have a game extra to play. A win for sheff utd could put them above UTD in the ppg

Out of those I guess I prefer 2 as project restart seems like a rush (and unsafe). I’m against voiding the season. Personally I had hoped this season would complete when safe to do so. I don’t care if that takes over a year to do. I’d rather scrap the next season. The only fair solution in my opinion is to complete the season.

But that is same for finishing this one. What if there is no second phase? And they play the last 9 games of this one meaning no next season. Think of the financial loss, players moving to clubs who can offer footy etc. I doubt its even a choice

Playoffs would be fun and a lot quicker to arrange, but I just can't see it happening for some reason.

Maybe pair up 2nd-7th (2v7, 3v6, 4v5) into two legged ties (or one match on a neutral ground) where whoever wins qualifies for CL and the other team qualifies for EL.

Then do a similar pairing up for 15th-20th where whoever wins the tie stays up.

6)Null and void the season no relegation,no promotion,no champions and just enter the same teams for European competitions as last season and just run it again. The only question for me is do you go with the same groups for Europe or make the draw again?Personally i think they should do a new draw to mix it up a bit.

It is extremely harsh on some clubs but it's the path of least resistance.

The European bit is just laughable. Some leagues have aalready decided the places, you can't go back to them and say, ''er, we will get someone else in Europe''

The problem is, no matter which option you choose someone can provide you with the negatives of that option. There is no winning option, no matter what is chosen they will have to detail with the negatives of that decision.

At least Liverpool will have another chance at defending their CL title which is more that most clubs would have out of the deal.

Safe to say some of those decisions will end up in front of a judge and legally could be declared null and void for them.

It is the most straightforward option to me, i am glad you find it amusing.

I think a lot will end up in the courts anyway. I really do hope that teams who go down sue the premier league for being forced to play home games with no crowd in a neutral stadium. Never heard anything so stupid

There is a legal president of the league in England being declared null and void(39-40 season) which could come into play in any court action

Not being controversial. I know you talked a lot of sense. The bit about Europe, you are sayin PSV should go in CL next season, instead of Alkmaar, who are 7 points ahead, with a game in hand. Let that sink in.

It's easier to void some small leagues and less popular sports. Trickier when it comes to the big leagues. Exactly why the biggest leagues are desperately trying to avoid that route. It could well happen but that's there biggest fear or they would have already voided.

UEFA said it will be based on this seasons merits which means the teams who are currently in the Top 4 will get the places.

Some teams wanted it to be based on coefficient ranking but UEFA weren't having it.

I guess it depends from whose point of view we are looking at.

In this scenario The PL have deemed it null and void, but UEFA have decided to use the results for entrants to the CL anyway. So from UEFA's POV it's not void.

UEFA will apply it as the qualifying criteria if the season is null and voided.

So it does answer the question that null and void has not been removed from the table.

Option 1: But no deadlines, it takes as long as needed to be safe and don't bother about contracts or transfer windows, the prize goes to the club, not the players. People forget that the transfer window is relatively new and before that, transfers could be made right up to about the stage of the season we'd reached.
Then adjust next season when we know how much time there is.

You can't just not bother about contracts though. Contracts are a major issue and various clubs will be left in unfavourable contractual and player issues through no fault of their own. No matter what option is chosen, contracts will always form part of the issue.

Just play with new players, youth players, whoever. It is the club that gets relegated etc, not the players. If the players don't like it, tough, they've got to adjust.

There will be football but UEFA have given a cut off point and there's no way we aren't going to have teams in Europe.

So if games aren't completed by that cut off point, the PL will have to complete the season in one of the above options, or an option that hasn't been mentioned yet.

Fwiw, I agree with your stance. But if UEFA have set a deadlines, which they have, those will be adhered to.

What's happening guys? Hope you're all good. If the season is restarted, will we be allocated a transfer every game week as normal without taking into account those we've used since it was suspended?

I still don’t understand why we can’t just cancel next season. Money I guess. Surely it’s better to cancel a season that hasn’t started than cancel one nearly complete.

No because the integrity of this season has been compromised no matter what happens. Next season's hasn't. And it also allows them to come up with some actual rules should something similar arise at some point in the future.

Good point about setting out new rules for future seasons. This will certainly be needed as football could well be disrupted again in future.

Loads of reasons but definitely financially with the TV rights, the fact they would have to pay their staff and players a years wages with no income. Also players will just leave and go to clubs who can offer football. Plus the majority would rather have a full season than 9 games . Obviously i understand your reasons being a Baggy but next year is always going to take priority

Oh it’s not because I’m a baggie, I’m not convinced we’d get promoted anyway. I’m looking at it purely from a sporting point of view. Almost the equivalent of being 80 minutes into a football match that has to be abandoned. In that case doesn’t the result stand? I can’t remember the exact ruling on this.

Not sure if that’s changed. I remember a West Brom game (v Sheffield Utd) that got abandoned and the result stood. Sheffield Utd went down to less than 7 players with West Brom 3-0 up.

                FA Rules say:

…any League Match which from any cause whatever falls short of 90 (ninety) minutes’ duration may be ordered to count as a completed fixture or be replayed in full or in part on whatever terms and conditions the Board shall in their absolute discretion determine and shall be played in compliance with these Regulations and the Football Association Rules respectively and under the Laws of the Game as approved by the International Football Association Board”.

It looked like Warnock was trying to get the game abandoned and replayed because his team were losing. The FA didn't let him get away with it on this occasion.

Getting the clubs to vote on this sort of thing is silly for obvious reasons. The PL just needs to make the decision and deal with the ramifications. Hopefully it will be soon as seeing the same people posting the same things over and over again on here is getting a bit dull, but I get the feeling this is going to drag on for a while yet!

I kind of accept some of the decisions the mods make here as it is supposed to be a fantasy football forum and sometimes maybe they feel the need to keep things on topic.

I am probably right at the top of the league table here for having posts removed and i never really held a grudge about it.

It is the likes of twitter and facebook where they are arbitrarily silencing people because they don't like the questions they ask that really bothers me.

In a free society being able to say what you want is a fundamental pillar. When that is taken away they normal discourse can't take place.

I don't disagree with you or anything. We may or may not like them picking and choosing who they silence but they are private websites (as is FFS) and the reality is they can do what they want (within reason). Everyone is free to say whatever they want, however they are not free to talk about it in any place they want.

I agree that insulting people from the safety of behind your keyboard is not cool if you said some of those things in a face to face conversation you would have every chance of being offered out or sparked out.

Fine line between banter and insulting someone that is not always easy to gauge for mod and posters alike.

Nearly everyone here gets along pretty well although we have lots of differing views which is a good thing.

A Jota to Auba or Kane
B Jota to Rashford and Boly to Doherty
C Jota to Rashford and Barnes to Alli
    D Any better moves

Would welcome thoughts on best moves accepting we don’t know if it will return or how fixtures might fall

Yes and there apart from Jota Barnes Boly. Rashford if fit, and Doherty my preferred options leaving Barnes position as flexible for mid up to 6.8m. So perhaps no moves
for now and park until /if game restarts and decide Jota replacement on fixtures/ fitness which will determine if can afford Doherty

I wouldn't be bringing in Rashford until I'd heard he was fully recovered, as well as fit. Once (if) he is - sure, he's a good pick.

Same-ish for Kane. Whilst not injured as per Mou's recent comments, he's not fit yet either.

Caveat is that all players aren't really match fit atm, but some have been out of the habit longer than others.

Yeah, imagine so. If fit Rashford becomes an option. Even Kane allows me to upgrade Rico to Lascelles.

I'm happy to leave this as-is now, but would have been decent to upgrade the bench fodder.

Shame we don't know if it's worth it yet!

3 transfers left in real FPL. How would you use them? 0 in the bank. Would really appreciate some help from people with a lot of years beside their name.

    Pope

    TAA - Robbo - Doherty

    Salah - KDB - Fernandes - Barnes

    Wood - DCL - Jimenez

    3.9m - Egan - Lascelles - 4.3m

Why wouldn't I want another (slow) Wildcard, Just because I have a wildcard? 2 are better than 1.

How many actual FPL GWs do you think there will be? Using transfers equals lower rank.

I'm not bothered. A single point is worth more rank-wise than using several transfers.

I'm a little concerned that more game weeks won't be added. I'm guessing you don't think there's any merit in playing any chips in GW38? Simply throwing all remaining games into GW38 would be insane but it's not been 100% ruled out by FPL (as far am I'm aware).

Might drop Robertson for another team's defender, e.g. AWB or Maguire (or someone cheaper to give more for your bench.)

I've been thinking something similar. I think central defenders are the way to go if there is going to be a game every 3 days.

      Pope
      TAA Doherty AWB
      Salah KDB Fernandes Martial Sarr
      DCL Jimenez

      McCarthy Wood Egan Cathcart

Not sure whether it means anything - too much unknown at this point ...

Similar to mine. Your bench is a lot better than mine, but that's my fault for keeping Aubameyang for now.

I honestly don't know what to advise in regards to player choices because we still know very little in regards to who may be available etc. For me personally I'm more interested in whether there really will be a GW39+, should the season restarts. If there isn't it would be best to wildcard & bench boost in the next 2 game weeks. Unfortunately I just don't think FPL are going to tell us.

Stll doing the perma captain thing? I'd have thought Alli is a good choice for you this week. Two goals and an assist for him and one goal for Mane in my friendlies.

I'm between Alli and Kane. Which would you choose?

    Pope McCarthy
    TAA Ward Lascelle Holgate Stephens

There's an obvious Jiminez size hole in your team and you have no Man United coverage for their juicy fixtures.

You could save this GW, but Pogba is interesting.

      Either Mané or Mahrez out.

I'd be looking at upgrading Jota or Wood to at least Jimenez, in the next couple of GWs or so.

Probably the thing I like the most about vFPL is it's giving me an opportunity to try out a more aggressive style of playing the game, which I could end up transferring into real FPL in the future.

Bit of both for me, I find the shorter turnaround between GWs is helping me to be more patient! Would have sold Mane and brought in Pogba and Rashford this GW with more thinking time.

I agree the chance to try different approaches is very useful, and hopefully helpful for real FPL.
