Recapping the best Manchester United players ahead of FPL restart

Our series of team-by-team refresher articles continues with a look at Manchester United, as the clock ticks down on the Fantasy Premier League resumption in June.

Taking data from Gameweeks 24-29 as a jumping-off point for wider discussion, we will be analysing the Red Devils’ prospects for the season run-in and pinpointing the Fantasy assets who could prosper in the remaining nine Gameweeks.

United certainly have one of the more appealing fixture schedules in Gameweeks 30+ to 38+, playing only one of the ‘big six’ and half a dozen of the clubs currently in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

In decent form shortly before coronavirus stopped play, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will also welcome back Marcus Rashford (£8.8m) and Paul Pogba (£8.3m) from injury when we recommence this month.

      Henderson out for United game. Less CS anticipated for all teams going by Bundesliga behind closed doors games,though it could be a poor indicator. Not sure about a Blades defender double up, definitely not a treble.

      So was I at first but I think it could be a blessing in disguise. Most people seem to be going down the BB GW30+, then WC GW31+ route but I reckon going with a FH for GW30+ then keeping your second wildcard to get a better feel for which players to invest in is a better option.

      Do we know if we FH this week is our team reverted back to the team it was when the game stopped back in March - ie the last gameweek or will all the transfers made during lockdown be lost and the team revert to what it was once the game officially relaunched last week?

    After DGW 30, surely it makes sense to pick explosive players who are likely to play around 50%+ of remaining games. No outfield player is going to player every minute of every game now, so you have to try to maximise picking up hauls. It is volatile, but the game will be volatile now because of the changes to substitutions and the number of games being players in such a short period of time.

    So who has that explosiveness? (10pt+ returns this season in brackets)

    DF: TAA (5), Lundstram (5), Doherty (4), Alonso (3)
    MF: Salah (7), Mane (7), KDB (7), Son (5), Mahrez (5), Sterling (4), Richarlison (4), Willian (4), Perez (4), Traore (4), Cantwell (4), Silva (4)
    FW: Vardy (7), Abraham (5), Aubameyang (4), Rashford (4), Jimenez (4), Aguero (4)

    Might seem obvious, but Rashford, Abraham, Aguero, Mahrez, Son and Alonso have all had limited minutes this season (injury or rotation) so could be prime picks even with limited minutes.

    bb without wc just looks bad for me as you cant fully cash in on the dgw/sgw with abandon as future weeks teams look crap or you dont have enough money for the big hitters with a balanced team

        That's not how the chip works. Squad will revert to GW 29 regardless any moves prior FH usage

          Not sure but I think it reverts to last saved squad before GW30+ was announced. That's why so many slow wildcarders have good squads built up week on week and will use FH. Reverts in 31 to the squad of slow wildcard team, not GW29 team.

    My current team:

    McCarthy (Button)
    TAA, Soyuncu, O'Connell (Sais, Taylor)
    Salah, KDB, Bruno, Richarlison (Dendoncker)
    Aubameyang, Jimenez, Ings

    I have no WC. Should I:

    A.) play my FH in GW30 (and then revert to this team for GW31).

    B.) treat the unlimited FTs as an extra WC and set my team up for the remainder of the season.

      It’s a tough one. There’s a good core there that you can build on. I think the DGW is still a great opportunity for a FH or BB so with no WC to fix it I think I’d FH in your situation

    I know Baldock could be Lunds but unsure if it’s worth the risk.
