Fantasy Allsvenskan – GW 4 Scout Picks and differentials

This week’s Allsvenskan Scout Picks have made their way to the official site, check them out here.

With eight teams taking part in the Swedish Cup quarter-finals midweek, this week’s Fantasy Football Scout Picks focuses primarily on players who should be well-rested and ready to take advantage of the possibly tired legs for their opponents!

The games are coming thick and fast and many will be feeling down after a generally low scoring GW3. Fear not! GW4 is just around the corner with its Saturday afternoon deadline at 13.00 CET.

Differentials

While rotation looks likely to be a continued concern over the next few gameweeks, there is a case for using this to our advantage and targeting players who look probable to start as short term punts. One such player is Hammarby striker Gustav Ludwigson (6.5m). With Aron Jóhansson (8.8m) starting the season off in the worst possible way fitness-wise, Ludwigson has looked sharp in the minutes he’s had up top. He started in the cup on Thursday but was brought off in a tactical substitution just after half-time, ensuring he’s fresh for the Sunday game. His main competitor is Paulinho (10.5m) who has seemed overly frustrated as of late and also played the full 120 minutes midweek. Imad Khalili (7.4m) is also capable of playing as a striker but has featured exclusively on the wings so far this season and in pre-season.

Striker Robin Söder (9.4m) has to undergo surgery and will miss out on all the games this summer. There are a few candidates to replace him in the Göteborg squad but the coach specifically named Alexander Farnerud (6.9m) and Hosam Aeish (8.5m) who would both the operating as OOP mids. Aeish impressed in the cup but played almost the entire game so we could see Farnerud getting the game against Sirius while Aeish gets rested ahead of AIK in GW5.

BK Häcken midfielder Leo Bengtsson (6.0m) scored in both GW3 away to Sirius and in the cup midweek, a game which Häcken, in the end, lost to Elfsborg. They now face Helsingborg at home and while he’s no guaranteed starter with the tight turnaround, any kind of minutes against that defence could yield points.

Captaincy

It’s a tough week for captaincy as half the league has played midweek and rotation could be a real factor, also AIK takes on Malmö at home which more or less rules out anyone from their respective teams (also Anders Christansen (10.2m) is suspended). Assuming he’s fit (he missed out midweek as a precaution), Alexander Kačaniklić (10.0m) could be an interesting shout though he’s hardly looked spectacular so far. The in-form option would be Sead Haksabanovic (10.2m) who should start, yet we’ll have to wait and see if fitness doubts around providers Jonathan Levi (7.6m) and Simon Thern (7.3m) are cleared or confirmed ahead of deadline. Rasmus Lauritsen (6.6m) might get a few captaincies thrown at him, yet one wonders if he can truly keep up that insane level of points production to be a genuine contender week to week. Finally, Nahir Besara (8.5m) is up against Elfsborg who could be a bit tired having played on Monday and Thursday with more or less the same eleven, something Besara could take advantage of.

Love this Meltens, and love the article on Allsvenskan too. Looks very good!

Haksabanovic captain for me this week I think

Cheers Meltens, brilliant that you're on the official website. I don't have Haksa, brought in Irandust for Christiansen and will give him the armband against a vulnerable HIF defence.

Thanks yeah feels very strange and crazy to see it there! 🙂 I think Irandust is a good captaincy shout as well given the opposition, personally I've had mostly bad times with him in general but still think he's a good overall option, as evident in the scout picks.

I think I'm going Haksabanovic for the captaincy but not feeling overly confident about it. Would take any kind of captain points though as I'm on three straight blanks!

Thanks. Lauritsen in this week for Ahmedodzic, given form Malmo cup game and upcoming fixtures. Khalili to Alm to fund it but didn't check that Elfsborg also played yesterday. Haksabanovic captain.

Many thanks again for these articles, really apriciate them!

I really put myself in a situation here...horrendous start to the season made me hit the wildcard button this week. I invested a lot in Djurgården, Helsingborg and Göteborg and nothing in Norrköping, and to say that didn't pay off is really an understatement. Since no fixtures were planned ahead, I thought I could just as well use the wildcard now to try and turn the season around. And now, the night before deadline the fixtures for the reminding 23 GW's are released! Got lots of work to do tonight!

The wildcard team I've put together is very uninspiring and extremly template, but can't do much more atm. Best of luck to all of you!

I wildcarded in GW3 so I know the feeling of wanting a fresh start. Gained 26 points on my original horrible team who also had no Norrköping, two Helsingborg, Robin Söder and treble Djurgården.

Good luck to you as well! 🙂

      How many of you:

      A. Have had back to back 100s (last two game weeks)

      B. Expect a third

Sounds like a few people on here...

      Going with this lot.

      Jansson
      Witry, JUL, Larsson, Lauritsen
      Kaca, Tankovic, Vecchia, Haksa(vc)
      Selmani(C), Mehmeti

They are indeed but my guess would be that Selmani either starts or doesn't feature(Haksa steps in as C).
Kaca wont leave my team unless he has had surgery.

After a horrible start to the season, I decided to not look at my team at all for a few days. A few moments ago I did the planned transfer of Kujovic > Nyman.

My team is lit like a Christmas tree though, with injuries/suspensions to Selmani, Christiansen, J V Persson and Kačaniklić. Time to WC?

      Anestis
      Strand - Ahmedhodzic - Witry - Widgren
      Tankovic - Kacaniklic - Yusuf
      Abraham - Selmani - Nyman
      (Nilsson - Jansson - Christiansen - J V Persson)

Kaca missing was precautionary, don’t think it’s anything serious. AC could easily become Hakšabanović. Selmani 'should’ be fine for the game against Falkenberg though information regarding that is incredibly scarce.

Fixtures for GW7-30 are out now but not updated so I’d hold on a bit with the WC and rather take a hit if needs be 🙂

Thanks, I have a really weak bench for this gameweek, so Kaca missing out will make things difficult!

I could do AC > Hakšabanović for a hit, I guess, hoping that Hakšabanović keeps up his form. Hate taking hits when chasing, though.

Wildcard team done! Ended up bringing Irandust back for Kacaniklic. Already got Tankovic and Bojanic, and even if Kacaniklic is fit I wouldn't trust him to play 3 games in 7 days. AC also out, but will likely get him back in 2 gameweeks or so. Kaca might get back as well, but hopefully I'll be able to cope without him until Tankovic potentially leaves.

Have anyone had time to look at the schedule for the rest of the season? Looks like it's planned well for all the european cup games, and there are hardly any other dates available, so it seems like we wont have any DGW at all this season. Looking at the fixtures, there's one GW that looks obvious for the PTB chip:

      Norrköping-Helsingborg
      Djurgården - Varberg
      Malmö - Östersund

One issue though - it's GW30! Do you dare to wait that long for the most powerful chip of the game?

      1. MTPockets
          3 years, 9 months ago

See what you mean, and no don't think I'd risk GW30. Maybe:

          GW8:
          Norrköping - OSK
          Djurgården - FFF
          AIK - IKS

          GW10:
          Norrköping - VAR
          Djurgården - OFK
          Goteborg - FFF

          GW28:
          Norrköping - FFF
          Djurgården - kff
          AIK - OSK

Thanks, those are also good options. In my case, I think they'll come too soon though. I just used my wildcard and I think it would take too much work to get my defence ready for GW8 or 10. I'll probably hold on until the second half of the season when we know for sure if there'll be any DGW, and when I have a second wildcard to help the planning.

Bråtveit getting his spot back! The reverse of last season, could be one to jump early on (though Malmö away next GW) isn’t exactly mouthwatering.

Great score, very nice! My wildcard turned out "meh" with 51p and Irandust and Selmani to go. Not good enough, especially the 9p from 4 defenders and keeper. Already regret a few picks which is a feeling you obviously shouldn't have the week after using your wildcard.

A -4 for Haksabanovic and Nyman worked out this GW, but I'm not too sure about my team going forward. Any suggestions?

Looks good! You could save the transfer, or potentially look for another keeper since Göteborgs defrence looks much weaker this season. Maybe save the midweek transfer and then swap for Bråtveit if he keeps his spot?

Good suggestion. Having Anestis hasn't worked out so far, and if Bråtveit keeps his place (is it likely that he will?), he could make a decent double-up with Witry.

Selmani looks to be out a while yet. Is it best to just keep, or should I look at replacements?

The Selmani situation is a bit weird. After the 2nd game it was said that he had barely failed a fitness test ahead of the game. That they didn’t want to risk him.
Now after 2 more games, that was either an outright lie or his problem has worsened.

I’m not sure what to do myself.
Have just the one ft and want Bråtveit in as a 2nd playing keeper but that would require 2ft’s, soI’m likely to be stuck with Selmani/ more weeks.

Yeah it's very strange, after the third one they said he was being saved for the Falkenberg game and would be fit then... The tight schedule is not doing him any favours but the lack of reliable info is annoying.

Thank you both. I just don't know what to do with Selmani. He comes at a cheap price which is great, but he' yet to play a single minute after I brought him in!

Feels like a waste of a transfer if he's back soon though.

According to the manager, they wont play Selmani until he's been fully training for a week. I think that quote was from before the Falkenberg game, and that they would give him another 3-4 days. Based on that, I'd say he's defenitly out of the Hammarby game, and to be honest I'm not that bothered about it. Unless he has a setback, he should be fit for Kalmar at home, which is a great fixture. After that, he'll get a full weeks rest, so hopefully he'lls be able to play both Örebro and Mjällby within 4 days, as those are also great fixtures.

I'm keeping him for sure, especially since Varberg are playing so well at the moment. After that, the fixtures turn so I might concider getting rid then, or if he shows any sign of not being fit enough to play the upcoming 3 games after Hammarby.

Good point re. the fixtures after the Hammarby game. Might just have to focus my attention towards making other transfers for the next few GWs. Should he still be out, there are fortunately other cheap strikers to choose from; Bergström, Frick, Prica.

Will likely have to play either Jansson or Strand with Selmani out. Given Norrköpings form, it will probably be best to play Jansson.

Would really appreciate your input on my first wildcard draft.
Strikers is the part that im most unsure about. Thinking of bringing in Söderlund (Häcken) if he is matchfit.
Östersund has a good run the comming weeks so hopfully Kadiri could get some points.

              All input is appreciated 🙂

I would defenitly avoid all Östersund players for the entire season, and wouldn't concider any striker priced 7.0 or above. There's no value in those strikers, so that money could be better spent elswhere. No fan of Fröling and Kalmar eigher, but there are other good cheap options like Selmani or Bergström. Midfield looks strong, but Vecchia has some really tough fixtures coming up after GW6. No fan of the keeper duo, and wouldn't pick a Mjällby defender, so maybe downgrade Kadiri and upgrade Nilsson and keepers? And if possible, save some cash to swap Vecchia further on?

Agree with most things Bob says, though I personally like Vecchia regardless of fixtures. If going with Hägg Johansson you should probably have his 4.0m backup, though PK Bråtveit would be the first choice for me on a WC 🙂

As for strikers, there are plenty of cheap options like Bergström and Abraham, if going more expensive I'd have a look at Jesper Karlsson who's been doing great things without getting so much for it yet.

Thanks Bob, really appreciate the input!
Witch defender is an option if I downgrade Kadiri? I really like Selmani but his Knee injury is a problem.
Do you have anyone else in mind?

I was very impressed with Bergström yesterday, and theire fixtures looks decent. Elfsborg also play well so perhaps Frick could be an option, although the schedule is tough and he was out with illness yesterday.

Not many teams have impressed defensivly, but Norrköping look solid, so perhaps a doubble-up with Castegren? Widgren and Lasse Nielsen also have good fixtures long term, those are the ones I'm looking at right now.

              Thoughts on this WC draft?

              Bråtveit, Noring
              Lauritsen, Ahmedhodzic, Tolinsson, Björnström, Tihi
              Kacaniklic, Vecchia, Christiansen, Haksabanovic, Larsson
              Nyman, Bergström, Abraham

                Very nice!

I wouldn't trust Bråtveit as my only keeper since he just got his spot back, so if you could afford, perhaps go for Rönning as a back-up? With competition from Calisir, Bjärsmyr and soon Da Graca as well, I wouldn't trust Tolinsson to keep his spot safe eighter. Perhaps upgrade to a 4.5 playing defender? And I can only repeat that I think Nyman is poor value for the money, like all strikers in that price bracket. He wont get any bonus points, and wont score a brace every game, so even with a goal or assist every game you'll be paying 9.8 for a maximum 5-6p. A cheap defensive midfielder or a wing back can get the same kind of points without even keeping a clean sheet or goal/assist thanks to the bonus system.

It is a strange feeling that Nyman could be going for the golden boot yet still not be a great fantasy pick haha. But I agree, Thern is keeping pace for 2.4m less in a way that seems more sustainable thanks to the bonus.

Cheers for the input. Will look for a 4.5 keeper and defender for sure. I agree about the attackers and their lack of bonus. The thing about Nyman though is that his stats look pretty good (compared to Thern’s) for example. It’s also a way to parry his high ownership and also gain som value on the WC. Many thanks nevertheless!

                        Hi Meltens

After a pretty poor opening 4 gameweeks I’m playing my Wildcard and I noticed I had 7 of your Scout picks for GW 5 so very happy with that. I’m going for an unbalanced ‘Power 5’ with my WC – surely I can’t do any worse than I have been doing!

That said, I’m just one point behind you so perhaps there’s hope for me yet.

                        GW 5 WC

                        Brattberg

Tankovic, Christiansen, Larsson (AIK), Haksabanovic, Thern

                        Bergstrom

Subs: Bratveit, Abraham (AIK), Prica, Tihi

Looks great to be honest! 🙂 I wildcarded in GW3 after an abysmal start and I'm slowly starting to get back to it, it's been very unpredictable though so far. I think Hammarby has a lot more to give and I wouldn't be too swift in neglecting their attacking players for new and shiny options. That said, too little Norrköping was a big issue that I had to correct and I'm very happy to have Lauritsen, Thern and Haksa in my squad.

Larsson might be one week early but he's a good pick imo, at the very least for the next block of fixtures for AIK.

Cheers, yeah I know what you mean about Larsson but one of the mistakes I've made in FPL, Eliteserien etc in the past is putting a WC team together with planned transfers for the following week or weeks - and it always backfires because of injuries or suspensions, trying not to repeat my previous errors.

The one toss up I had was between Christiansen and Kacaniklic, same price, had Kacan since GW 1 but he's not bringing the points for the price, my thought was Christiansen would be the better long term option and a much better captain option given I have Tankovic and Haksa.

Time will tell, first priority is to catch you first!

A week ago the sports director of Norrköping 'Peter Hunt' said they were looking at getting another marquee signing.
Yesterday former Peking player Linus Wahlqvist came to be out of contract as dynamo dresden crashed out. Would be a dream if he comes home.

Another week of Scout picks on the official Fantasy Allsvenskan site, check them out here:
              https://www.allsvenskan.se/fantasy/fantasy-football-scout-gw5-scout-picks

As for captaincy this week it’s a tight race between Sead Haksabanovic and the Hammarby mids, Muamer Tankovic and Alexander Kačaniklić. Anders Christiansen is also back and could throw his name into the mix, personally though I’m backing Hammarby to bounce back against a Varberg side that looks potent enough to score in this game, which means Hammarby will have to score even more to win it!

Who are you captaining? Any solid picks going under the radar?

Ooh I was also tempted by Söderlund, think he could do great stuff this year. A bit worried over fitness with the tight schedule but as a long term pick I like him. Yeah Haksabanovic high EO likely, I'm going Tankovic and hoping for a return to the "old" Hammarby 🙂

Goalscorer odds favour Tankovic fwiw (1.95 vs 3.1) but I don't have him anyway. Good luck

Those of you looking at Söderlund or Irandust (who I own), are you not the least concerned about how extremly poor Häcken have been this season?

Yeah they haven't been great yet they still have scored every week, I think they'll continue to be the Häcken of old - good against the middle/bottom teams and crap against the top teams 😉

I haven't seen them play this season. Honestly I haven't watched an Allsvenskan game since GW1 2018.
It's just a stats/fixture punt based on hoping Soderlund can still score goals when in the mood with something to prove.

                      Nice work!

Had a captaincy dilemma at first, but in the end it was en easy pick. If it aint broken, don't fix it! Got Haksabanovic in last week, captained him and he got me 24p so why swap? Norrköping have scored 13 goals, Hammarby 5. Elfsborgs have conceded 3 goals, Varberg 5, so that's not a major difference. And the individual stats between Haksa and Tankovic:

                      Haksabanovic vs. Tankovic
                      OB: 7-1
                      DB: 1-0
                      Crosses: 10-1
                      Key passes: 14-6
                      Goals: 2-3
                      Assist: 4-0

Saving my transfer this week. Will get rid of Bojanic or Irandust for AC next week, and potentially get PK in if he can keep his spot. Will then have to decide what to do with Björnström and Vecchia ahead of theire poor run of fixtures.

My hope is more that things won't stay the same but I agree, Haksa definitely the safe option. It's going to be tough knowing when to take a week off the Haksa cap and when to stay on him, I'm thinking this might be one of those weeks to make some gains potentially. We'll see! 🙂

Björnström so good for his price though, surely you can just bench him in the tougher fixtures?

It's just that it's such a bad run. It's 5 out of 6 games where I really don't wanna play him, as I'll never play a defender just hoping for attacking returns. In the same period teams like Malmö and Hammarby have very nice fixtures, and it would feel a bit like a waste not taking advantage of that. Got Vecchia as well, I guess he could play some of them, but it's not ideal to have 2 players you're unwilling to play for such a long run of games.

                      Looks great!

Would possibly go for Rönning ahead of Brattberg, I think he rotates well with PK. Otherwise well balanced and great coverage.

Looks very nice! And no real room for improvement with just 0.1 ITB. Personally, I'm no fan of the Witry pick, and think much of that money could be spent on keepers and upgrading Kahl to someone more secure, but thats just me. Midfield and attack looks excellent!

                      Best of luck!

Ah great, thanks! I was looking at Okumu to Björnström but was 0.1m short. Okumu's stats make him out to be a good defender anyway, and he'll be on the bench most of the time.

Okumu is a great pick, seems almost guaranteed 2 defensive bonus points every game. Fixtures aren't ideal though, but still a very good pick. I concidered him, but didn't want the doubble-up with Rönning, at least not with the upcoming fixtures.

Björnström got two nice fixtures coming up, but seems unlikely to get any clean sheets for the following 5-6 games, so I think you'll be fine without him.

Drunken wild card last night and woke up to this lot.

                    Bråtveit, (Johansson)
                    Witry(K), Berg, Nielsen, Ahmedhodzic, (Tihi)

                    Mehmeti, (Moro), (Sylisufaj)

Would rather have Larsson over Nielsen, Vecchia over Hussein and healthy Selmani up top.

                      Intresting!

Triple Djurgården defence and no Lauritsen or other Norrköping defender is not the way I would have taken. I do however like the Malmö doubble-up, especially long term, and I think that Nielsen is just as good of a pick as Larsson.

Midfield looks good, and going by the fixtures I think Hussein could even be a better pick than Vecchia. Not sure about the Hammarby doubble-up. The fixtures look good, but Hammarby are dire at the moment. I would possibly look at someone like Seb Larsson or Thern instead, or maybe downgrade in order to upgrade the strikers?

The striking force...well, it's not players I will concider this season. Maybe if you're chasing, but otherwise I think there are many much better and safer options. Abraham, Bergström, Frick or Selmani perhaps?

I have two FTs for this gameweek. I'm thinking Anestis + Strand > Bråtveit + Lauritsen are decent moves to make?

                    Anestis
                    Ahmedhodzic - Witry - Widgren
                    Tankovic - Kačaniklić - Haksabanovic - Jansson
                    Selmani - Abraham - Nyman
                    (Nilsson - Yusuf - Strand - J V Persson)

Looks like very good moves! But I agree that the midfield looks slightly light, but I guess that's the price you'll have to pay to have a premium striker.

                    A little help please?

Can't decide whether to move Kacaniklic or Irandust > AC. Both feel like they could punish me and have good fixtures but so does AC. I'm not even adding the fact I'd like to have Larsson into the mix. Also tempted to play the "Park The Bus" chip.

                    My team:

                    1ft, 1.7itb

                    Hagg

That's a tough one! I had to move Bojanic or Irandust and went for Bojanic, but to be honest I'd like to get rid of both. Hammarby and Häcken are very poor right now, but least Irandust gives you a few bonus points. Getting rid of both for AC and Larsson makes sense to me.

I can see why you're tempted to play PTB, but is a very powerfull chip, almost worth building a wildcard team around, so I would wait. Hammarby and Sirius are not very good defensivly, and Lauritsen and Ahmedhodzic face good opponents.

Kaca has started off a bit bad but has the bigger potential long term I think. Irandust is so uneven, he'll have his games but I still like Kacaniklic more.

This weeks scout picks for Fantasy Allsvenskan: https://www.allsvenskan.se/fantasy/fantasy-football-scout-gw6-scout-picks

I have unfortunately not had the time to write more here on FFS to go with the picks but hopefully I can pitch in every now and then and anyone else who wants to write Allsvenskan articles are most welcome! 🙂 If you’re thinking about contributing semi-regularly, get in touch with Geoff or reply here and we’ll take it from there.

As for GW6 it’s an interesting week that kicks off with some even considering a rouge Park The Bench chip! Djurgården-Helsingborg, AIK-Falkenberg and Sirius-Örebro all look like potential CS points. Many will captain Hakšabanović and he will likely be a good captaincy choice yet again. Anders Christansen is another player who’s started the season well and even with a defensively solid Elfsborg, he could be a good shout. Who are you captaining?

I wish I could trust Hammarby but I just don’t right now. That said, I have the Tank/Kaca double up so no one would be happier than me to be proven wrong 🙂
