Scoutcast Episode 340 –Premium forwards on the radar?

Premium forwards are back on the menu for our Scoutcast trio as Joe, Andy and Az look ahead to Gameweek 37+ and try to pick some differentials to help Fantasy Premier League managers make a late push for mini-league glory.

While some of their tips are certainly bargains, they think this could be the week to turn to some forgotten pricier options, who have been sold by many in recent weeks.

Up top, Spurs hitman Harry Kane (£10.9m) and Arsenal talisman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.9m) look primed for investment with kind fixtures for the run-in.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s main men are under scrutiny. The underlying statistics point to a Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) haul on the horizon. But are the Premier League champions still motivated?

Recorded ahead of Thursday’s matches, all three of our Scoutcast regulars are full of hope after an average-to-bad Gameweek 36+ so far. To describe Joe’s Bench Boost this time around as laughable barely does this sorry use of a chip justice.

Our crew take a look at clean sheets for the final two matches, while Andy takes his turn to name his favourite differential for the run-in and also reveals an exciting membership offer.

The show finishes off as usual with their transfer and captaincy plans for Gameweek 37+. There are certainly plenty of differentials and forgotten premium picks to consider.

I would save FT and captain Bruno/Martial. More information & options for last GW to block their players. You should be good, good luck.

If you're free hitting gw38 then no harm in switching out KdB for Tuesday.

If you want to be cautious keep him as first sub.

I think that plays into Ings favour. They have to go and get the win & 3 points this will leave space Redmond & Ings can exploit.

Ings has scored against much better defenders/goalkeepers. 20 goals (no pens) for Southampton speaks for itself.

    My current team looks iffy

    Ddg
    Trent aurier doherty
    Kdb martial bruno willian
    Kane ings giroud

    Martinez ward fernandez saka

Should I save my ft to have 2 for gw38 or should I sacrifice trent and 4 points (giroud was to be a one week punt anyway) to get jesus and tarkowski

Thoughts on the team for next week?

    Henderson, Dubravka
    TAA, Alonso, Boly, Taylor, Williams
    Salah, KdB, Bruno, Sarr, Foden
    Jesus, Jimenez, Greenwood

Probably gonna buff my defence, Tarkowski, long good shouts?

    Free hit already used.

    DDG
    TAA Doherty Azpilicueta (Holgate)
    KDB Mahrez Foden Fernandes Martial
    Vardy Jimenez (DCL)

    A. Save FT
    B. Vardy to Aubameyang
    C. DCL to Ings, but move into starting XI for?
    D. Azpilicueta to Tarkowski

    Thoughts on this please?
    1FT 0.8m itb
    Patricio
    TAA,Azpilicueta,Doherty
    Salah(c)Sterling,Fernandes,Pulisic
    Rashford,Greenwood,Ings

    McCarthy,Saka,Taylor!, Lascelles!

    1. Save
    2. Replace Lascelles with some back up.
    3. Get Martial in but would mean a hit to remove Greenwood.

Planning Pulisic > Dilva in 38.

    1. Bob B
      • 10 Years

No need to bring in Martial if you already have Rashford and Greenwood, especially for a hit.

Possibly B but I doubt you'd need cover for TAA, Azpi or Doherty now. I'm thinking of moving on Azpilicueta though because of the poor fixtures for the last 2.

      So either 1 or 2

Leicester in general were good, which is the most important thing. They looked up for the fight again which has been missing recently. Vardy will always get chances

Anyone from here you would want to lose this week? or save FT

Don't let the fixtures cloud your judgment. Antonio is the form attacker in the league, both statistically and via the eye test. He's involved in absolutely everything West Ham does, shooting and creating constantly. Don't drop him, don't bench him, you've got a key differential that your rivals should be looking to bring in. He can hurt Man United, especially on the counter, and imagine if Villa are relegated by GW38 how much fun it will be to own Antonio. Selling is overthinking the game.

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

With that team, why wouldn't you take the 2FT into GW38, money in the bank, and be able to move for the City assets you want with more information at your disposal? I think it's madness to sell a nailed on OOP mid with the best stats in the entire league when you could roll the transfer and strike on the final day.

Mate, if you're chasing 34 points it is seriously criminal to drop Antonio now. He's one chance you have to do some damage, the way he's playing he can score against anyone not just Norwich. Pulisic to Salah (especially if your rival doesn't own him?) looks really, really promising to me.

    Best options here?:

    Pope
    Aurier, TAA, Doherty
    KDB, Pulisic, Sterling, Bruno, Martial
    Greenwood, Ings

    Button, DCL, OFTS, OFTS

(OFTS - our for the season)

    1FT - 1.8 itb

I have no defensive cover, but thinking (A) DCL to Wood and playing him over Greenwood?

Or should I (B) get cover at the back (Lascelles to Burnley defender).
    Thoughts??

    Captain:
Martial (FA Cup before WHU, possible injury)
Salah (1 week rest vs CHE who play in FA Cup)

If you’re chasing I’d say Salah. If you’re worried about Martial getting injured, pick Salah as your vice captain.

Think Ighalo will play against Chelsea, Martial gets rested and start against WH.

Agreed. Finishing 4th is more important than the league. If they beat WHU, it’s in their own hands against Leicester.

Do they need goal difference if they are on the same points?

    Who actually needs to win?

Bournemouth (vs SOU) - to avoid relegation
Leicester (vs tot) - to clinch CL place
Spurs (vs LEI) - to clinch EL place
Wolves (vs CPL) - to clinch EL place
Watford (vs MCI) - to avoid relegation (depends on result tonight)
Aston Villa (vs ARS) - to avoid relegation
Man Utd (vs WHM) - to clinch CL place
West Ham (vs mun) - to avoid relegation (depends on result tonight)
Chelsea (vs liv) - to clinch CL place

Tbh I don't think clinching an EL place is particularly important for clubs, have you ever seen a team play out of their skins for 6th place

I think for Wolves and Spurs (and possibly Arsenal) it is. Because it is a back door into the CL.

    A: Ritchie/Gomez > Tarkowski (bench Giroud)
    Or
    B: Giroud > Wood (bench Ritchie/Gomez)
Or make both transfers for a hit?

Like to get everyone thoughts on my situation withy rival currently 8pts in it keeps going up and down all season. Only player that I am worried about it seems keeping him on top is Martial do I take minus 4 and get him in? If he gets brace against West ham might as well say season done. I was going to do Giroud Pulisic to Wood Martial -4 should I do it. He has Sheffield United Back two and Wolves next week so I see him getting good returns as for myself I have Digne Trent Doherty all not doing nothing

8 points is a negligible lead with two GWs left. Try and avoid hits just to block and play out your own game. Having said all that I do like those moves if you plan to captain Martial this GW.

I would definitely make that move. Don't think of it as a hit for Martial, it's a hit for a double upgrade because Wood's next two fixtures are perfect for returns and Giroud is the opposite. You're attacking and defending at the same time with these transfers, I really like rate it. Be bold!

    I'll try this again.

Alonso + Nketiah to Tarkowski + Jimenez/Ings for -4 and bench Pulisic, worth it for this GW?
