FFS Cup

The winner of our latest FFS Cup competition revealed

The latest edition of our FFS Cup came to a conclusion in midweek, with Powell coming out on top after an 81-72 win over Manisaspor.

The pair shared seven of their starting XI going into Gameweek 37+: Nick Pope (£5.1m), James Tarkowski (£5.5m), Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.7m), Bruno Fernandes (£9.1m), Kevin De Bruyne (£10.7m), Marcus Rashford (£8.9m) and Danny Ings (£7.6m).

Powell’s differentials were Erik Pieters (£4.3m), Christian Pulisic (£7.4m), Raheem Sterling (£11.9m) and Mason Greenwood (£4.8m), with Manisaspor’s unique picks being Matt Doherty (£6.5m), Raul Jimenez (£8.1m), Anthony Martial (£8.5m) and Phil Foden (£5.5m).

All eight of these players delivered at least one attacking return for their owners but Sterling’s 17-point haul was perhaps the key variable.

The pair opted for different captaincy picks, too: Powell backed Rashford, with his opponent plumping for Martial.

Powell took a hit ahead of Saturday’s deadline, too, bringing in Pieters and Tarkowski for an inspired triple-up on the Burnley defence.

Even that minus four deduction and a captaincy failure didn’t make a difference, with Pulisic’s nine-point haul in the final Gameweek 37+ fixture at Anfield rubber-stamping our winner’s victory.

Powell’s strong Gameweek was enough to lift him up to 343rd in the world, his highest rank of the season.

Manisaspor is tantalisingly close to a top 1k finish, meanwhile, sitting in 1,340th place.

In our third-place play-off, Sharpey defeated Joax2 69-63.

Once again, the pair shared seven of their starting XI and both managers joined Manisaspor in handing the armband to Martial.

The benching of Romain Saiss (£4.8m) left Joax2 without a third playing FPL defender, which proved crucial as Sharpey triumphed by the six points that Willy Boly (£4.9m) brought him against Crystal Palace.

Hauls for Alexander-Arnold and Greenwood on Wednesday also saw Sharpey home, who triumphed despite taking an eight-point hit going into Gameweek 37+.

Damn my captaincy stats this season are disastrous.

16 times my captain has scored 1-6 points and a total of just 454.

        Ouch

Done decently on captains - 558

My downfall is goalies where if you strip out 25 point bonanza in 30 I have 126 points

I don't think I've ever done so badly with my captain picks. If i had 100 points more from my captains I would be in the Top 10k.

I've got 153 points from GK. Think that's decent but could have been more if I had kept faith in Pope from GW25/26 onwards.

        I’m about the same mate

        458 captain points

        15 captaincy blanks

Disgusting! Although if I could nail a 20 point triple captain this weekend...

15-16 captaincy blanks is probably very bad I think.

Don't remember how I've exactly done in past seasons but surely it can't be this bad.

          Maybe 7-9 blanks are acceptable?

Think Mo has blanked 12 times this season - I’d take that as a low benchmark. Anything less than that is plain wrong - very unlucky

That's high. Just compare your ratio to that of rank 1 and 4? you've got better captaincy return % than them both. What's your OR?

5K. The rest of my team hasn't been on fire for the early part of the season.

I meant not too high a single GW score, besides Salah TC.

Some of these numbers are crazy how are Man City only 57% to keep a clean sheet Norwich Have scored one goal in 8 games and city have conceded one goal in like 5 games they should be more like 80% for clean sheet. Burnley only 33% so Brighton have a 67% chance of scoring at turf moor surely even though they couldn’t score past a depleted Newcastle at home and have only had 7 shots in target in the last 5 games

Yeah, I’m struggling with that Burnley one (it was crazy low last week as well). It’s encouraging for me, as I’ve not got any Burnley defenders, but if this weekend’s game were to be played 10 times, there’s no way that Burnley only keeps a clean sheet in 3 of them!

I agree. Everyone is talking about the GB race. KDB is one off the record for most assists in a single season. And up against Norwich. You gotta think he is going to be trying to bag a couple of assists at least?

In a tough spot. 12 points clear in my mini league but my opponent has his free hit left and I'm out of chips.

I have 2 free transfers though.

    Current team is

    De Gea
    Trent VVD Digne
    Sterling Fernandes Salah Foden
    Greenwood Ings Jimenez

    Foster Boly Saka Cathcart.

I am considering getting Jesus in for Jimenez and downgrading Fernandes to Antonio. That will leave me with this team.

    De Gea
    Trent VVD Digne
    Sterling(c)Antonio Salah Foden
    Greenwood Ings Jesus.

    Foster Boly Saka Cathcart.

Foden is a big concern and prob wont start but he can always come off the bench.

Really want Jesus and this is the best I can come up with. Any other ideas?

seems as good as it could be, both players out could hurt you but at the same time good players to come in. Foden is a weak link if he don´t start, but you´ll never know. Saka probably start vs Watford and also Boly is not the worst option either.

Downgrade Digne, I don't see him getting anything, to cheapest.

      Play Boly.

      Keep Bruno.

      Jimenez to Jesus.

    2) TAA -> mings (Keeps salah and Martial)
    3) Martial -> Trezeguet (Keeps salah & TAA)

i´m going dilva so can afford some of the other big hitters from pool, spurs etc. knowing he could haul anytime.but every city assets could in theory do that so tha´s why i´m going cheaper ones. could be disastrous could be gold.

hm, i would change foden if he is in your starting 11 and early team news have him on bench. Stanislas punt or use one of your defenders if possible.

    Mahrez Dsilva Antonio Pulisic Martial

just to make a playing bench why not go Williams and either one of Brantwaithe or Thomas?

Making a bench problem with wc in last week seems rather pointless. looks like you want all base covered, but you have to make a choice to leave one out. No salah or Mané sounds risky on wc
