Scoutcast Episode 341 – Final Day Planning

What is it like to be within a whisker of winning Fantasy Premier League? Joe and Az find out when they are joined by special guest Alexander (@TooGoodFPL), who is in third place and just nine points from the summit.

This latest Scoutcast episode devotes itself to planning for Gameweek 38, as this longest of campaigns draws to a close.

Alexander reveals what its like to be so high up the rankings and the players he is considering for the end of the season as he bids for the FPL crown. With chess champion Magnus Carlsen hot on his heels in fourth place and just 30 points separating the top 10, there is plenty for him to ponder ahead of Sunday’s matches.

There’s alot on the line for all managers too, be it overall rank, mini-league glory or just the chance to own David Silva before he departs the Premier League.

While Joe and Alexander don’t have a Free Hit to play they can at least dream and run through the players, who those lucky enough to still have that chip, could bring in.

Az is one of those lucky ones. But with a wealth of choice from the ranks of Manchester City, Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool and more ,deploying this chip is no easy task.

Elsewhere, Joe laments on his poor post-lockdown Bench Boost strategy and there’s some Rough with the Smooth tales of woe and joy to look at.

On Monday July 27th at 8pm UK time the Scoutcast will return for one more time this campaign, to look at the highs and lows and lessons learned from this odd season. Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel to get notified of this and future live episodes.

Yep reckon chelsea win 2-0! So Jiménez & Doherty won’t get many points.

Wolves have only conceded 6 in their last 13 games though, why would they concede 2 now all of a sudden

Well they conceded 2 to Arsenal, and away to Burnley and SHU also failed to keep a CS. The argument is that Wolves have a great defence but they also haven't faced much of a test. Chelsea are by far the best attack to face them since restart, Wolves away from home, it's feasible

Of course it’s possible they could concede 6 or 7, stranger things have happened...

I just see they’ve only conceded 2 twice in their last 13 games (Spurs & gunners in fairness, both London teams!)

With only 2 goals conceded in the other 11 games, they just don’t strike me as a team ripe for the defensive taking

I agree and you'll find that OP has no Chelsea players in their team, and Jimmy and Doherty on the bench is probably right for that team if Foden starts. But I would go as far as saying I expect Chelsea to score 1, maybe 2, and that's good enough for me to keep Pulisic. In the back of my mind also that they scored 5 in the reverse

Personally I think (/hope) Jimmy could get joy against that defence + Kepa - who is swiftly morphing into an absolute shambles of a keeper

Auba vs Kane is doing my head.

Leaning towards Auba because the Watford game is tailor-made for him as Arsenal will just look to pick them off on the counter.

Kane is in good form but we have seen how frustrating he has been this season and Mou teams rarely go all out attack; 0-1 win would be typical Mourinho.

So David in Scout Picks says that Salah was unlucky not score in his last 3 games.
From what I've seen against Chelsea he lacked basic footballing skills and composure not luck.

    1. Klaren
      • 6 Years
      3 years, 8 months ago

Interesting. The guy doesn't have basic footballing skills and composure, yet manages to score 73 goals in 107 appearances for the club and win 2 golden boots.

Have you seen Chelsea game ?

        1. Klaren
          • 6 Years
          3 years, 8 months ago

Yes he was the first player to miss chances.

You either have basic footballing skills or you don't. A few bad games or mishits doesn't change that, every striker has those games. What you are talking about is being out of form which is completely different.

          1. el polako
            • 6 Years
            3 years, 8 months ago

            How is it different ?
Some players can mask lack of form with their skills.
Out of form Salah looks like NBA players from Space Jam - lacking basic skills, he couldnt hit the target nor pass.

          2. Klaren
            • 6 Years
            3 years, 8 months ago

Also while the chances he missed against Chelsea was due to his own mishits, he was in fact unlucky vs Burnley as 2 of his shots were brilliantly saved by Pope.

Haven't seen Burnley game I take your word for it.

Bottom line is looking at last game his blank got nothing to do with luck, he was selfish and poor.

I know wolves don’t concede many goals but I quite fancy pulisic doing well this weekend!! Could be wrong but might punt on him? What do you guys think? It’s either him or Antonio to be honest.
