Mark Sutherns to return to Fantasy Football Scout for 2020/21 season

“Where’s Mark?”
“I miss Mark”
“Bring back Mark”

Hundreds upon hundreds of you have enquired about the whereabouts of the Fantasy Football Scout founding father since his decision to take a step back from frontline FPL duty two years ago.

He’s never been too far away from the site, though, and now, we’re delighted to report, he’ll once again be putting out Fantasy content when the new season gets underway in September.

Mark will be involved with Fantasy Football Scout in a Pro Pundit capacity, so expect articles and video appearances as he bids to bounce back from – what he deemed to be – a frustrating 2019/20 campaign.

Mark rejoins a team of contributors that includes top Fantasy managers such as Lateriser, Zophar and Tom Freeman, who have multiple top 1k finishes between them and who, we are delighted to say, will be writing for us once again in 2020/21.

Lateriser, who finished 30th in the world last season, will also be stepping up the frequency of his articles in the campaign to come.

As ever, subscribers to Fantasy Football Scout will get unrestricted access to all of their analysis and team reveals.

If you’re new to this website, Mark is its creator.

Starting Fantasy Football Scout out as a blog in 2007, he grew these pages steadily over the years and developed the site into the leading Fantasy Football resource.

He’s got an enviable FPL record to back that up, too, as his season history (pictured above) shows.

A remarkable nine of his finishes have been within the top 5,000, with four of those resulting in overall ranks inside the top 1k.

We’re absolutely thrilled to have Mark back on board for 2020/21 and look forward to his insight in the weeks and months to come.

Where can I find last year Fanteam totals for players? I guess it'll be similar to FPL but just want to see how much of an impact is an extra point for winning the match.

I am new to this too, for me it will be the difference in the price system that is the most challenging. Not losing half the stored value when selling will make quite a difference to potential strategies. Just not sure what. Last seasons players might have an advantage until can figure it out

Just clocked how late the group stages of Europa start next season.

Leicester go direct into the groups and they don’t kick off until 22 October - a decent way into the season and comparatively much later than last season. Spurs are in a bit more trouble though as they’ll start a month earlier

Vardy very high on my watchlist now. Kane not so much 🙂

      2. @persecuted_by_mods
          3 years, 7 months ago

I'm with you here spurs will have an unbelievably congested season, Mou doesn't tend to rotate much but even if he does he can't rotate everyone as he doesn't have a big enough squad for that

            • 5 Years
            3 years, 7 months ago

He’d need someone to play up top in any event - Son is almost as vital as Kane and who else does that leave?

Europa is a decent prize. Can see rotated squad if they get very weak draw in second round of qualifying but the final round of qualifying anyway features some very tidy sides.

                3 years, 7 months ago

Exactly, even if Kane is tested if the players who support him are tired coming the premier League then it's bad news either way. Unless they buy 2-3 more players I see them wilting

Also occurs to me that Leicester in Iheanacho do have a Vardy stand in if they go heavily rotated route.

Vardy interests me a lot. It was not just last season - this form run dates back into 2018/9 when Rodgers took over. By my calculations he’d need to be priced at 11.5 to offer iffy value on this form and even then he fairly closely matches Mane Sterling.

I’m thinking he comes in around 10.5 or 11 max where he beats just about all mids for value - very similar to KdB at 12.5 say

Benefit of Vardy up top is that he offers an easy switch to another form forward and there should be at least one to choose from between Ings Jim Werner Kane Kun perhaps Jesus Auba perhaps

He'd be a nice fit but even if he's is out of any England reckoning nowadays I imagine he'd want first team football and not the occasional cup run out - fair few PL sides could offer him that.

PL started 9th of August last year, with playoff round when Wolves entered on starting on 29th of that month (20 days later), and group stage commencing on 19th Sept (1 month and 10 days after 2019-20 PL commenced)

PL is scheduled to start on 12th of September this season, with playoff round on 1st of October (19 days later), and group stage commencing on 22nd of October (1 month and 10 days after 2020-21 PL commences).

So comparatively speaking very little difference to last season

Wolves last season and Spurs this season both start in the 2nd qualifying round, NOT in the playoff round.

Last year the Europa League qualifying rounds were two-leg affairs. Wolves had to play their 2nd qualifying round on 25th July and 1st August, followed by the 3rd qualifying round on 8th and 15 August and the playoff round on 22nd and 29th August. Their GW1 Premier League match was on 11th August.

This year, they will be played over single legs. Spurs have a 2nd qualifying round match on 17th September, followed (if they progress further) by the 3rd qualifying round on 24th September and the playoff round on 1st October. The Premier League is due to start on the weekend of 12th September.

So Wolves had already had to play 3 matches before GW1, followed by another 3 between then and the Group Stage.
Spurs don't have to play any of theirs before GW1, and still only need 3 before the Group Stage.

I was willing to defend TooGoodFPL seeing as he didn't break any Fantasy rules or terms outright but he's been a huge t*t about this whole thing.

Apologize, keep your head down, move on. It's not hard. And he just keeps digging his grave deeper and deeper. If anything, it's proving FPL quite correct to disqualify him. If he's not careful FanTeam might also decide to confiscate his winnings and then he'll be extra sorry.

                He’s spinning out of control.

Comparing his situation with George Floyd is actually disgusting...

“”Lots of people want to take a moral highground here, but are more than happy to pile up on someone when he's down on the ground. Does that make you much different from what started the BLM movement? Have a thought or two on this. Bye for now””

This thing is going to go on and on and on and on.

It is actually getting really boring to keep on seeing so much attention being given to this when there are many other bad things happening in the world as well which just get swept aside.

So glad I am not on twitter and do not follow the news like a hawk either.

Twitter brings out the worst in people, have seen countless examples of people dropping their standards when they go on Twitter. (me incuded).
The most ridiculous arguments get blown out of all proportion, and their is an unhealthy mob mentality about the place.

No strawman defence here. If anyone gets racially abused on any form of social media next seoson then the offender needs to be disqualified full stop or am I being unjust with having a fair opinion?

                Nope.

It always has been and always will be at their discretion. That's what you agree to when you play the game.

So if someone does something similar in the future but they decide it doesn't deserve the same punishment then that's that. There's no requirement on them to follow this precedent on every vaguely similar incident. They can do whatever they deem appropriate on a case by case basis.

Which was the problem with all the "well if you punish X than you also have to punish Y" posts following the decision. They don't. If they want to punish X while completely ignoring Y then that's their perogative.

So if another FPL manager racially abuses you on any form of social media, should they still be allowed to continue in the game?

I don't think so, no. But that doesn't mean FPL have to listen to me. Or punish that guy just because they punished this guy. It's at their discretion, which is the point.

Plus in this case the guy had actually won FPL and was being awarded with prizes. It might be that they would have ignored it if that wasn't the case anyway.

Also he said he was told he could keep playing next year anyway, so it's hardly a particularly heavy punishment.

If that's what you took from that post then I worry you may have comprehension difficulties.

I said in the very first line that I don't think someone who racially abuses someone else on any form of social media should be allowed to continue in the game. I could hardly have made that any clearer given it was a direct answer to your question.

None of that had anything to do with the point I was making though, which was this decision has no bearing on any further decisions they make. It has always been at their discretion and it always will be at their discretion. This hasn't set any precedent they're now obliged to follow. It will always be a case by case decision. So if they decide not to punish someone else for something similar, that's up to them.

In other words there is no guarantee that "it will get reported and your account will be disqualified" because there's nothing forcing them to be consistent in the punishments they hand out.

The law needs to be followed onto evereyone though. Cannot be for one and not for the other which has probably opened a masdive can of worms next season considering the imbiceles on twitter etc which run their mouths/fingers.

I would expect FPL to come dow hard on every case which gets reported. None of them can be left untouched.

                                We do agree?

All they have done in this case though is stop him from winning FPL. That's a very specific punishment that could only ever apply to one person per year.

So when you say they need to be consistent by coming down hard on every case which gets reported, what you're really saying is that they have to massively escalate their response by doing more than they've done in this case. Because they haven't done anything to stop this guy playing FPL.

I agree that there should be consistency in how these things are handled (even though there is no obligation on them to be consistent). But even if their new rule of thumb was limited to "we will not award first place to someone who racially abuses someone" then that would still be consistent with what they've done so far.

Nothing they've done suggests that they will investigate in the same way for every case that is reported.

But racial abuse is wrong in every shape and form so this should not only apply to the highest points finisher.

We all know that a precedent has been set (though I don't know why it would surprise anyone that fpl would take action against racism when evidence lands in their lap and oh it's evidence of the winner) you're just stating the obvious here

The only difference is it's clear when the "precedence" people are coming at this from an angle

Normal people go a precedent has been set, let's hope they're consistent with this but this was a good step. I'm sure they'll do their best

Some people go, a precedent has been set and if they aren't able to deal perfectly with every single case in the future then aha they shouldn't have punished this racism

You're not advocating for all racism to be punished equally, you already know it can't be because we don't live in an ideal world, and you're trying to use that to downplay racism

That's how it comes across Mr foo fighter

I am not dowplaying racism as I have stated it is wrong.

Every case will need to be dealt with by the FPL otherwise it will be double standards and will make FPL look like a bunch of hypocrites.

The punishment they've given this guy could *only* apply to the highest points finisher though. They haven't done anything to him that they could extend to the rest.

So if they really wanted to set a standard that would be applied to everyone then they should have banned him from playing.

If another price-winning-fantasy-manager uses racist comments online, makes fun of COVID-19 casualties or something like that, then yes, they would be removed/deleted/expunged/cut out (you got the point).

In a game where the written advertisment next to your starting keeper either states: "say no to racism" or "We are one team", then it would be wrong to state racist comments or 'work against' the PL-view on COVID-19.

I think that is very different from a written statement like: "That player really played like sh*t in todays match - hope he gets benched next week. He would not even be capable of mowing the lawn at my granddad's"

I think you have to be very careful here. Being overtly discriminatory is one thing, but if someone is just being a dickhead on a forum/group chat, you can't use "I'll get you disqualified from FPL" as a weapon, it's so unbelievably open to abuse.

You can imagine the amount of private chats making the rounds to FPL with at cash at stake in ML's.

I hope wherever there is wrong doing, the FPL adhere to their rules. There will be alot of noise if they don't based on their decisions.

Just won't happen. Think about what you're saying.

Obviously people being racist behind closed doors is still just as disgusting/abhorrent, but for it to become public one of two things have to happen:

                          1. The person has to be openly racist in a 'private' chat with people that he does not know that well/trust (people will obviously tend to show their true colours amongst people they trust), one of whom then go on to report it

                          2. The person is openly racist in a private chat with people they do trust, in which case one of the person's 'trusted' (and in a lot of cases like-minded) friends have to decide that a few quid from a ML prize is worth more than a friendship.

Not going to happen at any scale whatsoever. I understand what you're trying to say, but the notion that FPL have made a rod for their own back or similar is just false IMO.

I find this whole thing utterly bizarre. I have now become aware of the reason for Alexander's team being deleted. It's not clear to me exactly what the racist comment was. If he has said something racist then obviously not good but what on earth does this have to do with FPL and their t&c's?

I have just had a look at the t&c's on the FPL website and I'm struggling to see what term has been breached. The only term I can see that relates to anything offensive is term 9 that says you are not permitted to have a team name that could be considered offensive.

If he has been racist then yeah he deserves everything he gets but I just find it puzzling what has happened with regards to FPL. It's a matter for the police, not FPL and I just can't see what term has been breached.

It's simple. They have a kick racism out campaign and they have done exactly that. It doesn't have to be directly related to FPL for them to take action.

In the same way that Adam Johnson was noncing up kids has nothing to do with football, but they still take action.

It doesn't have to breach the T&C's, it's at their discretion.

In this case they presumably decided that a game owned by the PL shouldn't give prizes to someone who racially abused Raheem Sterling, which makes sense.

But racial abuse is wrong, so I won't have a case if Alexander racially abused me when both of us are playing FPL and we both ticked yes and agreed to the T's and C's.

You might be right I’m only guessing. For number 1 they probably would ban him again as at the end of the day it’s sending out the same message about FPL if they don’t act, that they are essentially condoning racism. The pressure of that alone is enough to make them ban someone without any hesitation of it makes FPL look bad in any way.

If banning no 1 is their intentions the any other offenders would need to get the same treatment irrespective of who was racially abused.

There is no room for racism. That applies to all.

                                        That is not the point.

If someone racially abuses me and we are both playing FPL agreed to the T's & C's then the offender which has been reported needs to get the same treatment as Alexander no matter if he is 1st or 1 million rank.

                                        Otherwise racism is cherry picked.

They’ll say they don’t have the resources to investigate these cases. Only high profile players would be subject to investigation.

Think about it, say if they get 1000 of these cases, people sending them watsapp pictures of chats. They then contact the accused and they say “no that’s not me” or “it’s been photoshopped“, they then have to investigate further. This would take up thousands of hours of man time and require FPL to create a new department consisting of 5 or so employees who’s sole job is these investigations. Costing maybe 3million a year.

This is without mentioning that I can easily within 5 minutes fake five + sources of you being racist and there is no way you can prove they are fakes.

It is exactly the same as trying to police the internet, it cannot be done for the resources it requires. And in this case it’s extremely open to abuse/faking

Pretty sure it would apply if they had evidence of it put into their lap yes.

The point that you are completely missing (and that others have raised already) is that in REALITY (not ideally), from FPL's perspective there is a big difference between the winner and a random who finishes at 13k or similar. Having a demonstrable racist as FPL champion (and therefore an ambassador for the game) is a PR nightmare.

In an IDEAL world, FPL would eject all players who had similar evidence brought against them. Won't happen in reality, because the connotations from FPL's perspective of doing so/not doing so differ massively between the winner and a random player at 13k rank.

They certainly won't start to trawl everyone's social media for it - not pro-actively looking is completely different to ignoring evidence when it's plated up in front of you.

Agreed - but so do a lot of things including for example all laws related to crime. Do you see police knocking on people's doors every day with no probable cause, just to check if they've committed a crime or not?

FPL should absolutely act on evidence they're given - but it's a different situation if it's a prize winner vs a randomer in the depths of the ranks. It just is, that's the reality.

Also they would have to hire teams of employees to do this. For a free game it's a bit OTT.

Poor Alexander. Removed from finishing 1st while other offenders will go unscathed. That is virtually saying racism is acceptably if the rules do not follow accordingly onto others.

That would be a very unfair system should other cases of racism be brushed aside. 'Free game' excuse when there are T's & C's.

No I am not sympathising with Alexander when there is no room for racism and was removed from the game because of racism so if you racially abuse some and sitting at 5k 50k, 500k or 5 million, the same should apply because you cannot devide racism into groups when there is no room for it.

I hope that makes sense to you?

Alexander was stripped of his title and prizes. Him being removed from the game entirely is a second-order consequence and likely the only method they had at their disposal to achieve their objectives.

Removing someone at 50k from the game is different - what does that accomplish, especially given Alexander is allowed to play next season?

Before you say mini leagues, FPL have never endorsed cash mini leagues at any point, so that wouldn’t enter into it.

                                          Honestly? Nothing.

In an ideal world they’d be punished in another way, but I’m not naive enough to think that would be the case.

If they went on to win or finish in a prize winning spot, I’d expect them to act on evidence put in front of them and the precedent they’ve set.

But they would need to deal with the racist evidence at that moment. If it is GW10 and racial abuse was found then you cannot let that person continue with the game and wait for them to finish 1st and then only remove them.

                                          That is like double jeapordy.

Is Global Multimedia LLC currently the only company running La Liga and Serie A fantasy games?

Because they both look a bit p!sh, tbh.

so we can all ‘dob in’ our mini league leaders and get them disqualified this year ?

My first year I followed joined in on the weekly FFS Scoutcast, but then I got a child...

Mostly I try to prioritize actually watching as many PL-matches as possible. FPL is the bonus that make the matches more entertaining/frustrating to watch.

Can't really comment on Scoutcast 18/19 and 19/20, but 17/18 was a damn good watch. Would try to watch it more often.

I read scout picks and captain sensible articles and occasionally use RMT, so all those extra stats which are supposedly worth the extra £5 membership are completely wasted on me.

Look at fixtures and form think about a good player I want to get in and how, spend all week consuming fantasy football related news stats and articles, get confused by everything, make a random last minute decision following their herd or going against. In either case the weeks I follow are the weeks I should have gone alone and the weeks i go alone I should have followed the herd

Best homework you can do is avoid the noise on here and twitter and watch the games. Concentrate on players that intrest you and their actions on and off the ball. All the top finishers are not necessarily better they put more effort in to make their own decisions and come away from template thinking imo

This is what happens when you're scraping the barrel for realistic choices. There's normally a downside somewhere along the way.

How much of a downside is there to Benteke? 🙂

Is/was the talk of that move complete fluff? Seems barely credible to me. Give me some hope here

Defence needs improving. Get rid of lanzini and Anderson if possible as they don't justify being there salaries
                                            Slowly faze noble out
                                            Keep Antonio up front
Have faith in seb Haller and hope he can deliver something that matches his near 50 mill transfer fee
                                            Watch Bowen and Fornals develop
Hope Moyes can grow into the job. He's not my first choice, but he's earned an opportunity to see what he can do for a while.

Fed up with the manager merry go round that sees us start again every 2 years. But that's probably nothing compared to other clubs

                                            Palace need

                                            1. Keep Guaita - a return to Spain still on the cards - he’d be a huge loss

                                            2. Someone in central midfield who can run!! There’s little point in Townsend and Zaha if no one can or is willing to keep up with them

                                            3. Zaha is just a poor fit nowadays. It’s not that he’s been bad we just don’t use him effectively. Reinvest

                                            4. Someone who isn’t Wickham or Benteke - perhaps two of them

                                            5. Only a few transfers overall. The strength is the collective and PL nous. Don’t need to lose that.

                                            Leeds

                                            - A recognised goal scorer to put pressure on Bamford.
                                            - A solid CB and LB
                                            - Someone to come in as a successor to Hernandez

I hope so too. I think the PL style will suit us, as will the decrease in fixtures. Don't expect much rotation either, the GW1 team barring injury will probably see 9-10 games before there's any drastic changes. We do need the goalkeeper and CB situation sorted as soon as possible though.

Dallas will be a popular pick if he's listed as a defender, as will Harrison if he's 5.5 or less.

I can see a scenario where Pope goes days before the season starts and it's the last straw for Dyche. Who did that last time? Was it Redknapp or Bruce?

That was it. Reckon Dyche would get a lot more sympathy, but Burnley would be in big trouble without both him and investment.

                                                  Agreed.

Perhaps wise for Dyche to resign while his reputation is in tact, saying he’s taken them as far as he can.

I’d have loved to see him take over at Newcastle but they’re a basket case rn.

Dyche tactics are underestimated. It seems win it and bang it upfield. He gets opposition to play narrow and shoot from distance. Well coordinated sude

He also drills the players to be that bit braver in putting their bodies on the line in blocking shots. He'd improve any defence.

Not saying pope is a bad keeper but Dyche is clever at getting opposition to shoot outside the box and Pope save points are exaggerated. I think what makes the PL special is the multitude of styles teams play.

Copying a good managers gwk1 team doesn't make any difference. A crap manager will consistently make a balls of basic decisions throughout the season and finish with a bad rank. I focus on my own game and not what the dregs are up to. They're gonna get whooped anyway unless they have a jammy season.

This is the point and for example one player has 500 patreons. So you can expect if he finishes well they all probably will too. So templates becoming a norm which is so not fun

The best way is get a top player, hack his team and copy it. If he messes up, just make 50 transfers in his name. I promise it works a treat.

Triggerlips use to have lots of managers either copying or being heavily influenced by him.
One season I wondered why most of the leading teams in Top 10k Any Season were so similar, then I discovered that it was because of Triggerlips' influence.

My FPL wish. Ones which might never come true.

I wish fpl had no wildcards but with say 40 transfers allowed whenever you like. I reckon I'd do better as it would encourage more patience.

I’d like to see clean sheet points removed for midfielders and all players to get a point per every three interceptions, blocks or clearances.

Take Liverpool for example - Firmino contributes way more to their defensively solidity than Salah, yet Salah gets a clean sheet point. I can’t remember him making a tackle since he joined the club.

                                                          Yeah and the CL game.

It’s a bit dull right now when the best premium investment is clearer midfielders who are more or less strikers anyway. Aubameyang moving to midfield will make matters worse too.

Affordability will be a problem and we may end up compromising with dull safe picks to squeeze in a team. Kind of rubbish when defenders get clean sheet points and bonuses in routs of cannon fodder compared to defensive masterclasses vs a better side.

I think the CL game approach (points for recovery) is terrible. Too imbalanced in favour of defenders and cheap/mid-priced center backs/defensive mids become better options than most premium strikers.

This is one that I have been behind for a few years. It would increase the diversity of teams hugely at a stroke, would make for harder decisions for manager to make, easy to implement too.

Actual Premier League players have to abide by that rule, well in regards to their own team. They are only allowed two from their on team, and they can have themselves.

Is it not the case that FPL can choose to apply (or not to apply) whatever rules it wants whenever it wants?

There seems to be a misapprehension that FPL owes people something, whether that’s an explanation or clearer rules. It doesn’t.

Law is so easy to determine, I should actually be a lawyer. If you apply common sense/logic the answer to your question is normally immediately obvious.
The only caveat to that is unusual occurrences which may not have been foreseen, in that regard yes they just shove in a disgression clause.
So all you need really is some common sense, ability to understand lawyer talk and an understanding of basic morals and ethics.
Long terms and conditions, and general lawyer chat confuse people, I think that’s partly intentional. But often you can take a 900 word point and essentially condense it to one sentence.

No, not really. They enter into a contract with their users by asking them to become members on their website. However this would only be relevant in cases like dismissal of a player for a reason that is not deemed fair/legal by the Courts. Contents of the game is under the jurisdiction of the Premier League management (or whoever they assign to management of Fantasy Premier League) and would have no legal consequences.

Any early thoughts into strategies to navigate potentially no City, United, Chelsea and Wolves for GW1?

Reports suggesting wolves want to start their season in gw2 with Chelsea as they played european football.

Although wildcard tempting, think patience and slow wildcard better option.

I've been proceeded on the assumption that Wolves and Chelsea and their GW1 opponents will miss that GW1, as well as both Manchester clubs who may miss GW2 and possibly GW3 as well (if GW2 is midweek).

                                                          https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53651865

Worse case scenario 8 teams miss GW1, 4 miss GW2, 4 miss GW3, which could mean that as few as 8 teams have a game in all of the first 3 GW's, but I suspect that the GWs will be fixed so that the fewest number of clubs miss each of those GWs (8 games in GW1 with just Wolves, Chelsea and both Manchester clubs not playing etc)

Won't lots of players be called up for internationals in the week before the prem starts anyway? If players from United, City, Wolves etc play in internationals then surely they would all just play gameweek 1?

I wouldn't lump too heavily on Chelsea early doors. Both of Frank's opening games as a manager have been heavy defeats. If they're overhauling the squad they way they're rumoured to be, they'll take time to gel. Unless, of course, they're playing Villa, Fulham or West Brom.

A lot tend to wildcard in GWs 3 or 4 anyway so I guess that'll be the strategy for many.

Slightly surprised to discover only 8 keepers played every time last season. Is that about the norm? As many as 7 missed 5 or more.

Now even more surprised - instant research shows much more goalie upheaval in 2018/9. Then 8 kept in every match but only one more kept over 30 (Leno at Arsenal)

Picking one for the season seems much less predictable than I'd have assumed

Pattern developing. In 2017/8 only Begovic and Fab managed the complete set. Again 8 were nearly ever present missing one or two here or there.

Apart from injuries, there seemed to be a few who were dropped after awful form. I'd like to think if I owned one like that I'd drop them before their manager did!

I do if this is relevant to your point but playing ten isn’t as bad as people think. Last couple of season I have fielded 10 knowingly. And a couple of times that’s been my keeper who picked up an injury or got benched for some reason.
Not point in hitting as best you will do is break even or lose 2 points if they concede.
The way I see it is this,
For an amazing week in FPL you need 9 of your 11 to perform
Great week is 7/8 to perform
                                                        Moderate is like 5/6
                                                        Anything less is bad.

I’m therefore like oh well, it’s not like I was going to have 21 performers anyway. I’d even go as far to say that is possible strat to only have 10 starters all season and put the extra money into the remaining 10.

Yeah, I've got a provisional draft that would put potentially a 4.5 midfielder and a 4.5 or 5m forward on the pitch with the risk that they might not even play on the assumption that the rest will haul. We're I to RMT a squad like that I'd be slayed by the conventionals, so I'd keep it quiet!

                                                          Yep

Made Henderson Ryan switch to avoid a Man U blank. At that point Ryan was fairly sensible as a choice - wrong not bad call on form. But playing 10 isn’t the end of the world and next time I’d give playing ten consideration but probably only if it was a loan

What surprises me here is the amount of consistent churn.

There is magic though, low league teams/players getting the chance to play at Old Trafford (other teams are available..:)) and meet the best players in the world.. seeing your local plumber taking on KDB, magic!

I hear you but these years it's like the league Cup - just the top teams in the shake up. There are too many games in the season, I'd like it binned (I'm Irish mind you so no great bond with it).

Domestic cups should have been the least of anyone's priorities this year. They're effectively just a novelty these days.

Not going to comment on this any further because it's dragged on long enough, but hopefully at some point some of the 'the racists are the real victims here' brigade will come to this realisation:

                                                      Can we renew previous leagues?

League administrators will be able to renew their leagues after the FPL launch.
In some leagues, this season's teams will automatically be added to next season's competition, but in others it will be necessary to enter again.

                                                          Thanks. Though FPL had launched.

Is there a limit to the number of comments per page? This one is long!

EFL fixtures out next Friday (21st) at 9am so hopefully Premier League fixtures and FPL launch will be a similar time?

Premier League fixtures expected to be announced back end of next week. Major logistical issues there with both Manchester clubs still in Europe - in theory could be playing each other in European Super Cup in Budapest on 24 Sept.
